Martin Recreational Complex Hwy. 45E South – Martin, TN High School Event: Our tournament has typically been named The Border Wars Tournament but this year we will be renaming the tournament to honor Madison Fagan who passed away a few years ago after being struck by lightning. We are opening the tournament to the first 24 teams to reserve a spot. 3- Pool Play and Single Elimination Tournament– 4 GAMES GUARANTEED ASA High School rules will apply. $190.00 Entry Fee Each team furnishes 1 game ball per game: .470 COR Maximum of 24 teams 1st and 2nd Place team trophies 1st and 2nd Place T-shirts All Tournament Team selected from Final Four Teams Tournament Directors: JB Suiter Cell # 731-234-6118 Email Address: suiterj5@k12tn.net Joel Ayers Cell # 731-988-6035 Email Address: ayersj1@k12tn.net DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION & RECEIPT OF FEE IS February 1, 2009 Detach here and mail section below, with entry fee, to Westview High School Softball Hwy 45 South Martin, Tn 38237 Ken-Tenn Border Wars, April 17-18, 2009 Team name: ____________________________Home town: _________________________ Head Coach: _________________Contact person: ________________ Phone numbers - School: _______________________Cell: _________________________ Email Address: ______________________________
  3. The Westview coaching staff, Gleason's Head Coach, six parents, and one friend from Nashville worked on the field for 3 hours after everyone left. So we will be thankful if we even get the games in tomorrow at 11AM. If we had some voluntary help from people we might have been able(doubtful) to start the games earlier but Mother Nature has a funny way of controlling things. We could have filled a small lake with the water that we drained from the field. There is no way we could have started before 11AM.A crew is getting there at 6:30 AM to finish preparing the fields. As far as Sunday:1) No choice 2)We were doing our best to avoid Church on Sunday and trying to allow teams to get games in without playing late into Sunday morning. The only alternative was to play until 4AM Sunday morning and I'm not doing that to High School kids.
  4. If rain sets in then we will go to two possible options. Option 1: Some games are able to be played Friday night. If this happens then we will start up ASAP on Saturday and finish the tournament on Saturday. This will put us into somewhat late hours into the night. A time limit reduction is very possible also. Option 2: Games are completely cancelled on Friday night. If this happens we will move the tournament to a Saturday/ Sunday format. We would set a tentative schedule to start at 10AM Saturday morning and play roughly until 10PM that night. We would come back in Sunday at 1 and play until the tournament finished up. The schedule would start from the very beginning and games would be played in the exact same order. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. We will be in close contact with the field crew and as soon as any changes are necessary we will get it posted. Hope everyone enjoys a great weekend of softball one way or the other. Thank you for your understanding up front. Admission will $6/day or $10 for a weekend pass.
  5. The Murray/Gibson game and Union City/Liberty games have been swapped. So Murray/Gibson will play Friday night on Field 4 at 9:20 and Union City/Liberty will play Saturday morning at 8:00.
  6. Fixed the schedule. It was all cluttered up. Hope this is easier for everyone to read. Should be a great tournament. Admission: $6/day or $10 weekend pass No TSSAA passes allowed in this tournament. Thanks.

We will have a coin flip for home and away each game. All Pool Play Games are on a 1 hr and 10 min time limit. No inning will start after that time. The international tie breaker will apply to any extra inning games. If a game is tied when time is called, then we will play one extra inning with the international tie breaker. If a game is still tied after one inning of this then it will end in a tie. Win=1pt, Tie=.5pts, Loss=0pts Run Rule: 15 after 3, 10 after 5 All High School Rules Apply !!!!!!
