  1. Hope Micah can come back. He has one of the biggest hearts on the team. Great kid. Unbelievably awesome game! Last tally I heard was 336 yards for Wesley Kitts. If he's not the PrepXtra player of the week it will be the worst theft since Peyton not winning the Heisman. Halls was down that bad at the half, but Wesley had to have over 150 yds before the half. We could run the ball on them all night. The difference was turnovers. We had none I can remember and West had at least three, with big Aaron Blair rumblin', bumblin', stumblin' taking one to the house! Double overtime and 43 points in the second half by Halls. Way to go BIG RED MACHINE!
  2. Crushes me about the Weaver boy. I'm not one for recriminations, but that crossing is dangerous and an officer needs to be there before games and temporary speed bumps would be welcome as well. Great game Halls. Run defense was excellent. Offense clicked well in some tough situations. Kicking game was solid.
  3. AC, ya'll looked good tonight. It was a weird scrimmage. In the first half, Halls could do nothing. And then in the second half when the starters went back in the roles reversed. I think you all will do well in your region. Good luck.
  4. Should be a good scrimmage. We lost to a non-football injury our senior FB/DE who was poised to do very well this year. Wish we had him to help against Mr. Coleman. I heard he laid some smack-down against Oak Ridge. Looking forward to it.
  5. What a blow to the team and a sad personal loss for R. Kelly. He is indeed a tough kid and was poised, IMO, to have a break-out year at fullback with the potential for an award or two. Sometimes life comes at you hard, however, and one just has to adjust. Hope he's doing well. AC is hard-nosed, and I would expect no less from Kerr. They beat Oak Ridge in their jamboree. It's nice to have at least one scrimmage left to get some snaps to R. Kelly's replacement.
  6. But you said you'd be at the Red Rebels vs Bob Kitties game this Friday on their thread??????? How you goin' to partake of that fine food in Halls if you do that? Or better yet, how you gonna paint yourself blue and yellow and be in two places at once?
  7. I like the lasagna. The sampler platter is better though. Now, did you watch the same game as me? Halls lost all four of its fumbles (very unlucky, or something worse), one of which was run back for one of the Beavers two touchdowns. Another fumble was lost at our own 20, after which the Beavers scored their other touchdown. Our defense pretty much dominated on their watch. I'm not slammin' the Beavers. I think if the administration at Karns will give more support to your program you'll turn it around. Hopefully that will be sooner rather than later. I'd like to see Karns reach its potential and start being a team to reckon with in 5A.
  8. I agree Halls is not where we want them or where they normally are, but to say that Sevier County, Central and West are not "good" is bizarre. They're not Maryville caliber yet, of course, but they are good. Gibbs and Karns are a different story.
  9. I don't know about an absolute ranking, but I still think West will be fighting for the No. 2 spot in the region. They have excellent speed and a pretty good passing game. Bearden showed that Central has some weaknesses, so I think Central and West shapes up to be a good game.
  10. I think it's that Gibbs is better than they showed against Halls. You should have seen how many passes their receivers dropped. Halls, I think, would have still beaten Gibbs even if Gibbs had been on, but it would have been a lot closer. Gibbs had an off-night against Halls and CAK is down from where they were. Harb meant a lot to them offensively. So that's my reasoning. The equalizer could be, as some have asserted, that CAK is better-coached, which I believe is true. That's not to slam Randy Carroll; it's just that Young is that good, IMO.
  11. Agreed. Limiting the turnovers will be the most important factor for a Halls win. We'll also need to get a turnover or two on the plus side.
  12. I think the assistant who quit is Randy Banks, a former Halls player (on the '86 state championship team coached by Kerr). I heard another assistant quit too, but I don't know his name. What's the word on Tony Lambert coming back as head coach??
  13. [Hat tip to you, HaveitYourWay. You employ impeccable logic. I just hope you're right!
  14. I missed that comment, but I'd still be surprised if he said it in an interview. Hey fairplay2121, where is the interview? Also, could it be that in context he was simply attempting to be a leader and trying to counteract some of the haughtiness of the juniors who were mentioned? I don't know the intent, only he does, but I do know he's not about trash-talking.....
  15. What interview are you referring to? I haven't seen it or heard of it?? What did he say? He's really a quiet kid, so I really don't see him doing a lot of trash-talking, but I've been surprised before.
  16. Wesley Kitts is (fortunately) a junior, not a senior, so he'll have another year to improve. BTW, Caleb Leonard got the team player of the week award from Coach J. He's gonna be special.
  17. PrepExtra picked Central by 6, not Halls, although that was still very optimistic (from Halls' perspective).
