  1. I’d like to see ER OC grow a little as a play caller. He’s almost handcuffing himself by not being creative and getting his speedy play makers in space where they’re the most dangerous with the ball. I get he had a freshman under center, with what he’s got coming back and the experience gained he’s got to open it up if he wants to win the gold ball.

Was #2 trying to be a hero the play before by running his mouth in the other teams huddle and had to be pulled away by his player? Why was he not flagged? Why was #0 not flagged and tossed  for body slamming a player? Funny thing was when the smoke cleared and #48 called their bluff #2 and #0 tucked tail and run like trouble makers like that do when the rubber hits the road! LOL #48, you probably close kin to sargeant York! You don’t take stuff off loud mouth bullies and I like that. When the refs don’t stop stuff like that I guess some folks will stop what the refs won’t! LOL as for the East Robertson coaches that ran on the field and done some suspicious things themselves” that’s all on film” That’s not the first time. Earlier in the year a film shows them hitting and bumping another teams chain gang crew. Maybe the coaches at East Robertson need an attitude adjustment themselves and it shows in their players all year! TSSAA need to look at this film real close from start to finish and tell their refs to stop the talking from certain players and coaches and this may have not gotten to the point that it did. It’s odd Yorks coaches seemed to stay on their sideline but East Robertson’s entire sideline came out. It’s a littl odd how ER didn’t get a few more players tossed. I’m not a fan of either team but I watch a lot of games on the NFHS network

Man you’re salty as a country ham. You’d be really PO’d if they’d won the gold ball.

If they have a weakness (not weak, just not as tight as everything else) in would be that the secondary is suspect for short passes to the middle of the field. Their DB's give a sizeable cushion on the LOS, especially the slot...problem for opponents is that they generally don't give the QB much time to check for open receivers, their DB's are ball hawks, and they'll pop you when you catch it. I'm guessing that it's a conscious decision to prevent receivers from getting behind the coverage...6-12 yard passes won't kill you like an occasional 60 yard catch and run. Huntingdon had some success throwing those routes, but couldn't sustain drives (or wouldn't commit) more than 30 yards with it.

I think ER will have the same problem especially with the slant. They’ll be committed to stopping the run and I think it’ll open up opportunities across the middle for Riverside. Their QB can is pretty good at that from what little I have seen. It will be interesting how ER’s DC schemes for that.

I think you will be impressed with Riverside.
Curious to your thoughts of them after Saturday’s game.

I’ll give you my thoughts now. They’re a really great football team. Solid balanced offense with a great QB, hard running RB and talented receivers. Defense is really good too. D-line is the second best ER has faced all year, Smith County’s was better imho, LB’s are going to be toughest they’ve seen, and secondary is better than average. Overall the experience of playing in the championship last year will play in their favor. Make no mistake they are the favorites, but East is the more talented team.

I never said they weren’t talented. I just saw what they did against York and I think I watched another game. they can be beat

I never said they couldn’t be beat. You’re the one who mentioned weak schedules and said most people on the east side of the bracket didn’t know what a good football ball team was. Sorry we all can’t be football guru’s like you flatlanders

I watch football and im giving an opinion. Some of you guys don’t know jack about football. I mean it isn’t set in stone riverside wins. I don’t think they will win because they are from the west.

If you’re such the football guru then why discount ER? If you can’t see how talented they and good they are then you sir, don’t know jack about football.

I mean yeah but they didn’t have a tough schedule.  He should have ran over York. They looked like a middle school team. If that’s any indication of the rounds prior I’m not impressed.

Regular season, outside of Smith county, I agree. The last 3 games of the playoffs, and on the road for all games, the opponents combined records were 34-2 and he torched them all. He’s played elite no matter the competition and I expect the same Saturday win or loose.

I watched him when they played York and there’s no way to say he is. I mean they haven’t played the toughest schedule

In the last two games, quarters and semis, he’s had almost if not over 400 yards rushing alone. I don’t think he’s had a game all year under 150/game, most only playing half to 3/4 a game. That’s pretty dang good and consistent in my book. He would most likely start at RB on any team in the state.

ER before Brooks was 8-21 in the playoffs

Brooks in 2 years is 7-1 in the playoffs.

That’s a great turn around in 2 years. I think he’s only been a head for 2 years and has a fairly young OC. He’s going to make mistakes it’s part of the process he’s learning and getting it done at the same time. They should’ve hired him when they hired Pond, I think he interviewed then too.

Groves.  He has won me over.  Teams know he's getting it.  And York was trying to end his season.  He still averages 4 to 7 a carry then breaks several a game. If you don't admire that I'm not sure why you watch football.

100% me too. When I saw some of the stats during the season I thought it was just the competition level, doing it consistently every Friday night is a horse of different color. Seeing him in person and watching what he does is pretty unbelievable. The way he cuts without having to slow down and plant his foot is what got me. Not many can do that. That’s elite. That’s why he’s a major D1 prospect.

You are calling out the parents of child for how they raise their child.  I’m sure your children were angels. Do I condone what was done absolutely not.  I don’t know which player it was but I do personally know the majority of these kids and they are amazing young men. Do they make mistakes yes. Should a grown man call them a spoiled petulant child? You may want to look in the mirror as you’re talking about young men.  That the majority are under the age of 18.

I will. Looks to me like they spared the rod in that case. If it looks like it and smells like it….it probably is.

All the late hitting by York in the 1st half brought this all on, I said it would happen before the game, thus the Classless assumption. At some point you have to fight back.

I thought the same thing. East kept their cool for most of the first half, but there’s only  so much you take. I know East has had issues with unsportsmanlike penalties before the playoffs but thought the did ok up until the second half tonight….
