The AAU Youth Nationals Wrestling Tournament will once again be held in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Wrestlers from Iowa, New York, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, New Jersey, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alalbama, Virginia, Florida, and Tennessee competed in last years event!

2006 AAU Youth Nationals

 

Date: March 31 to April 1, 2006

 

City: Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

 

Site: The Grand Hotel Convention Center

 

Schedule:

• Friday, March 31st 4-8 PM Weigh-ins for all Divisions

Weigh-ins will take place at the Grand Hotel

Wrestlers must weigh-in wearing a singlet and will be given a 2 LB allowance.

 

• Saturday, April 1st 8 AM Doors Open for Wrestlers / Spectators

9 AM Wrestling begins

• Match Duration:

Tot thru Novice 3 – 1 ½ minute periods.

Schoolboy 3 – 2 minute periods

• Folkstyle Rules

• Tournament will Place the TOP 8 in each Weight Class

Each Champion will Receive Gold Medal and a Trophy

Each Wrestler and Coach will receive an AAU NATIONALS

Last year, TNAAU Wrestling allowed all Tennessee Youth Wrestlers, who competed in the TNAAU State Tournament, a chance to compete in this event for $20. Tennessee Youth Wrestlers saved $10.

 

This year the entry fee for all Tennessee Youth Wrestlers who compete in the TNAAU State Tournament this year will be $25. Tennessee Youth Wrestlers will save $15. This will be offered to all the Tennessee AAU Youth Wrestlers who complete the registration forms and enter the tournament before March 29. If you have already entered the event, you will be reimbursed the over paid amount at the tournament.

 

There will be a booth set up at this years TNAAU State Tournament and wrestlers can register for this national event at that time (provided there is still slots available).

 

This week, we have entries form Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Iowa, Florida, Minnesota, Indiana, Kentucky, and South Carolina.

 

For those wrestlers who do not qualify as a Youth and are planning on Wrestling in the Ohio Tournament of Champions, April 29th, Team Tennessee Wrestling is looking into a way we can help you all out as well (provided that you qualify at one of the Tennessee AAU Regional Events). In the past we have helped cover the cost of entries and travel expenses. Anyone interested in attending this event, needs to contact Vance Tisdale with Karns Wrestling.

 

Each Tennessee AAU Regional is a Ohio Tournament of Champions Qualifier. The top 3 in each weight class will qualify for the TOC. Each of the top 3 placers will receive their TOC Qualifier Cards at the Regional Tournament.
