For the eighteenth year, Southern Champions Wrestling Camp will offer three great camps across the state with some of the best coaches in Tennessee. The camps include instruction and competition and are open to full teams, partial teams, and individuals who are eager to learn moves that have optimum percentage of success at any level.

We don’t go for the big names, just the best camps. The camps are instructional, informative, competitive, motivational, and fun.

Main instructors include Frank Simpson (MBA), David James (University of Central Oklahoma), Steve Henry (Soddy Daisy), Walt Holmes (Houston), Brian Dunning (Glencliff HS), Steve Shone (MBA), Tony Bradley (Germantown), Charles McTorry (Ensworth), Jonathan Simpson (Germantown), Jeff Price (Science Hill)

Camps I, II, III are for wrestlers entering 8th through 12th grade in the fall of 2011. Camp cost is $125 per wrestler for pre-registration, ($135 per wrestler for day-of-registration) and includes instruction, coaching, lunch each day, and a camp T-shirt.

Camp IV is for rising second through seventh graders and will be held at Houston High School with dates corresponding to the regular camp (June 13, 14, 15). Times will be from 9am until noon. Camp cost is $70 per wrestler for pre-registration, ($80 per wrestler for day-of-registration) and includes instruction, coaching, snack each day, and a camp T-shirt.

For more information about any of the four camps and for an application, go to Southern Champions Wrestling Camp or inquire at scwcamp@yahoo.com

TSSAA does not want wrestling camp brochures set out for distribution at the state tournaments, but if a coach politely asked for "Southern Champions Wrestling Camp" brochures, I would gladly oblige. Actually, I would share any wrestling camp brochures with anyone who wanted information. To refuse would be rude.

The Southern Champions Wrestling Camp provides a wonderful experience for wrestlers on all levels. Instruction is provided by some of the top coaches/former wrestlers from around the state. The unique combination of both instruction and a dual team competition (with a sweet, high-quality belt for the champions) is something the wrestlers love. I've brought wrestlers for the last seven years, and all have loved it. They even feed you a hearty lunch! Thanks Coach Killian and Coach Simpson. We'll see you again in Nashville June 20-22.
