Division 1 Ohio High School SOFTBALL Team Looking for some games April 1-3 in Tennessee

VARSITY SOFTBALL - I am reaching out for some assistance and hopefully you all can point me in the right direction.  I recently became the head coach of Gahanna Lincoln High School which is a D1 school in Columbus, Ohio with about 2,200 students 9-12.  Not ideal taking this position so late with the season right around the corner, but I am stepping into a position following a man who abruptly left but had 650 career high school victories obviously HOF Status. We have a ton of interest with 49 girls trying out this week and it has a rich tradition of State Semifinals and Final appearances here recently, I feel that we have a very formidable team this year to make another run.  Unfortunately, I can't do the full week they had planned in Myrtle Beach for Spring Break as I teach at a different school with non-corresponding Spring Breaks, so I am looking at a possible weekend trip South but somewhat close about 6-8 hours away.

To get to the point, I am wondering if someone can assist me with possible names of area high school coaches that I can schedule with during our spring break weekend of April 1-3, or if you are open to playing.   It doesn't need to be exactly this but looking for a night game on Friday 5pm or later, a double header on Saturday and another double header Sunday morning.    If familiar with travel ball which I do have a few Beverly Bandits, Ohio Outlaws and Texas Bombers OH on our squad, so they are used to playing pretty good competition.  My pitcher throws well and in the 63/62 range.

I have emailed a few coaches and athletic directors, and also just sent a text to the Waverly tournament. and emailed the Brentwood Invitational If anyone can help me out or point me in the right direction or interested in setting something up, my contact information is underneath.   Either way, good luck with your upcoming year and hopefully looking forward to some better weather than what we got here in Ohio these past few weeks!

Thank you!

    • I am going to assume you are not a lawyer, and most reasonable lawyers would not say the lawsuit has a zero percent chance in court. I agree with you that a coach has the ability to dismiss anyone from a team. However, Ms. Winfree was never presented with the opportunity to present her witnesses and have them tell the coaches and administrators what they heard. A lawyer could better explain the lawsuit and the grounds to you. Before you start making wild assumptions about the lawsuit, would it be too much to ask that you do a little legal research first? The lawsuit is dealing with due process, loss of property, and defamation.   You can read the lawsuit here: https://bdnewsletter.files.wordpress.com/2024/04/doc-1-complaint-filed-4-18-2024.pdf
    • The administration took the path of backing the coach and whispering to people that the kid was a problem. The reality is that the kid was never a problem on a team or classroom. The player says she has witnessed who back her not saying the f-word.  Why did the coach make that story up and other stories? I am not Sigmund Freud and do not have an answer for the ex=-coach's behavior..
    • I think they have they coach they want close to being done. I guess we will all see how this plays out. I hope the hire a good one. There are some players in the box for the next coach to work with.
    • Going to grundle Troy Fleming?
    • I agree I don't think it will go to trial either, but I feel like that will be because no judge would deem this to warrant a law suit... If the school board settles, they loose and all coaches and schools loose too.
