Great post. Wow, you guys are perceptive--are you sure Howard didn't get his coaching start in church ball--that seems to be where all the SD talent comes from. Seriously, you guys need a life--or more homework. I guess Coach T keeps you off the streets though. By the way, for those keeping score in the real world, its Gregory Howard, "Two-time TACA Coach of the Year for Boy's Tennis." I think the "My Roots" title is more an honorary thing. [and buckle up for Coach Shumate--if you b-ball guys are willing--and tough enough to follow a coach without excuses or whining--you might not have as much time for message boards next year. See you in class. Not that I'm actually Mr. Howard or anything. :D

derek smith has put a lot of time in with chip mincy and waylon morgan making them unbeatable. he has taught them form and power. without derek, chip and waylon would still be only good players, not great players like they are now. thanks derek for saving the sweetwater tennis program.

    • It's time to play everybody's favorite game of how is this season going to go. I'll undertake the fool's errand of a prediction. Encourage the region 2 fans to do the same. Cloudland: Top until they get beat always seem to perform year in year out with a small changing roster. Cosby, North Greene: These two could finish in either order they didn't have big senior classes. Lots of young guys got experience last season and most of their best athletes are upperclassmen it'll depend on coaching and if the kids can put it all together.  Jellico, Unaka: Like the two above could finish in either spot both of them lost key pieces to graduation. It'll depend on how returners play and if young guys can fill shoes.  Hancock: Small roster size devastated by a big senior class that took a lot of the experience and athleticism with them.
    • Confident that Marion, Moore, and Gordonsville are losses.  7-3 would be a nice turnaround.  5-5, 4-6, 3-7, etc. and it's a disappointment
    • Win the Watertown game, you can start 4-0. Lose it and you might be anywhere from 0-4 to 3-1.
