It doesn't matter if the score was Whitehaven 74 - Northside 0, the cry WE WAS CHEATED would still ring out to explain the failure of a particular group. Always has been the answer for failure, and always will be in the future. You know it and I know it.

!! Yanker...It's obvious that no one cares at the administration level about the program. Not naming a coach, no spring practice is a guaranteed killer for the program for not only this year but for several years to come. You know the truly pitiful thing is the administration would not have been allowed to get away with this if the program had strong enough community support to demand things be done differently. No...I admire your loyalty but the JCM program is going the way of the Clinton campaign..Too little, Too late! (By the way, Hillary is my choice, but let's see where that gets me).

Tell you what...Go back and research it and tell me the years Wooddale won a region 8 championship in the 4A while he was at Wooddale! Tell me when he was a runner-up! Ain't gonna be!! Couldn't beat Melrose, East, or Fairley. Was lucky to even make the playoffs most years. Get your facts straight on who should be scared! It sure wasn't the folks in 4A!!!!

It's official. Memphis will not be hiring Thompson now or in the future! His tenure in the MCS is official closed and sealed with today's announcement. Let him wallow back at Fayette Ware if they'll have him. What a pity. He could have had it all and redemmed himself in a solid school situation. As I said earlier...You can take the coach out of the city but you can't take the crook out of the coach. Disgusting!!

Bravo!! You mentioned some fine young coaches that truly do things the proper way. Isn't it a shame that you never hear anything good about their efforts? The Cedric Millers and Tim Thompsons of the world just make everything difficult for everyone else.

It's great to be so supportive but the facts say otherwise. Thompson ruled the roost in 3A but not the case when they bumped to 4A. Noone ran scared. Same thing for Wooddale in 4A. Can't recall a single regional championship the Cardinals had under Cedric Miller. What does stand out is the "thompson-like" behavior Miller exhibited at a playoff game against, of all people, Ridgeway, whereby he was escorted off the field by the police for grossly inappropriate behavior. The only winning that one thinks of when thinking of Wooddale is when WS Donald was the coach. He won numerous championships until the powers that be decided that it was time for him to "retire." In other words a wh--e coach was replaced with a bl--k coach and guess what...Cedric or no one else has won at Wooddale since. Same thing happened at East. Coaching change and a once solid program has gone to the pits. As for Thompson, go back and look..State Championship appearances stopped and regional championships became a difficult achievement. No...Thompson strikes fear into very few these days and I can assure you, no one in the 5A is going to worry because even a sorry MCS system can't afford to hire him these days. Thompson is doomed to languish elsewhere besides Memphis.

As of today, there has been no word on Thompson's fate. The only one who has had enough is Dan Ward, the acting Supertindent who announced he's resigning effecticve June 10.

Just read in the Commercial Appeal where they (MCS and Principal) are deciding whether they will employ Thompson in the Fall. Do they even have to think about it?

Nothing like the city school system..Let's take a quick review on just a few things I can remember...Lynn Lang (Let's see how much money we can get for Albert Means from Alabama)..Milton Kirk (Lang's sidekick in extortion)..Gary Deberry, just hired as the head coach at Northside (two aggravated sexual battery charges against him, as well as previously being "banned for life" from coaching)..The coach at Hamilton (decided sex with a student was exiliarating and oops..she's pregnant)..The Principal at Hamilton (I like my coach, let's cover this up)..Tim Thompson (Round l, banned from the city schools for 3 years for taking money from the University of Ky.)..Tim Thompson (Round 2, latest Ridgeway incident)..Edwin Bell (caught on camera threatening and cursing his team, dropping the f bomb over and over and over)..Cedric Wilson (taken off the field on TV by the police for going insane during a playoff game)..Ted Anderson (let's curse the kids and whip them for missing shots and freethrows)..The Principal at Mitchell (Who incidentally used to be the coach at Westwood until he was fired for a zillion infractions-Who now decides a RAPE DAT HO DANCE would be appropriate and ultimately brought national attention to the school, and who then decided to have a talent show where students would only "simulate" sex rather than do the deed, and THEN, when asked by a television reporter about the incident repllied "How do you know that is my gym?"-To which the reporter replied, "Isn't this a picture of YOU on tape?"..and how about the Principal at East who has kids marked present for the school day when they were out armed robbing people at Germantown, Oak Court Mall, etc. Oops, just a technical problem!..These are just several incidents that come to mind..And how about Wayne Weedon, the City Athletic Director who oversees all of this mess (Whose famous quotes regarding the athletic programs in Memphis is "We've come such a long way and you can definitely see progress!)..and how about the shootings all over town (too numerous to mention-just read the newspaper)..and did you like the special on tv the other night about the tremendous truancy problem with kids roaming all over the neighborhoods and malls..and what about the gang problems, etc..And the multiple arrests at so many schools I don't have time to mention for "rioting in the schools". Yep, I've said it before and I'll say it again, with the type of leadership in the Memphis City Schools, their creed should be " EVERY CHILD, EVERY DAY, PRISON BOUND". Disgusting!!!!!!!!

With the latest problems in the Memphis City Schools (DA RAPE DAT HO DANCE) at Mitchell, I don't see how under the sun Thompson will be able to stay under these conditions. However, on second thought, this might be just another..SO WHAT.. in the city school philosophy in Memphis. This will be interesting to see.

Oh come on!!! I've been saying this for months about Thompson. Here are the facts on the latest incident...8 players from other schools, specifically, Mitchell, Raleigh-Egypt, Fairley, and Wooddale have been practicing with Ridgeway and participated in their spring intra-squad game. They don't even go to school there! (Insurance and liability problems galore if something happened!) Also, Ridgeway has ignored the 10 day limit on spring practice. They have been going since February. Add to the fact that the Booster Club at Ridgeway decided they would pay Thompson and his coaches for coming in for spring practice and upon giving Thompson the coaches' checks, he endorsed them and cashed them all. All I can remember is the mannner in which he conducted himself while at Melrose and his ultimate 3 year banishment from the Memphis City Schools. Shouldn't that have been a red flag before considering him for another position in the school system? No..Evidently not because the City Athletic Director, Wayne Weedon was quoted in the newspaper upon Thompson being appointed to the position at Ridgeway as saying "How good this will be for the school system and for Tim." I've said it before and I'll say it again..you can take the coach out of the city but you can't take the crook out of the coach. It's unbelievable..It's DISGUSTING!

How do you expect the Chargers to fare against Ridgeway and Tim Thompson in the Bridges Classic? Thompson will try and blow the lid off the place in his "coming home" party back to the Memphis City Schools. I've said it before and I'll say it again..Thompson being let back into the very system that banned him for almost every irregularity possible is DISGUSTING!!!!!!!

What would you have to say if Munford said as you have "I think we have defensive problems and an offense that will be down by last year's standards"? Something about excuses..Why not accept that you are stating what you feel to be the case at Henry and accept that others are stating their opinions about their own teams. Why make a big deal? Things will be settled on the field and someone will be proven correct.

I didn't recognize any sarcasm...What lines are you reading between? You really need to get over 06. You lost! You made up for it in 07. Didn't hear any screaming from Munford then. I think the poster simply was giving you what information he had. Munford will be young and according to Coach Randall will be starting only 2 seniors on both offense and defense. Don't take that as some pre-season excuse. They'll be out playing hard and we'll see what happens. I do think that Munford's future is down the road though. Building programs don't happen overnight as you people well know. Either way...Don't worry about others...Just take care of your business up there and you'll be fine!

Not Red Pride, but am anxious myself to talk a little football..make that alot of football!!! How has the off season being going for the Pats? Have you started spring practice yet or already finished? Any plans for any scrimmages? How does the Region look now to the Henry faithful? Red Warrior, are you still fishing or what are you doing to pass the time until kickoff? How does the rest of the 4A Statewide look? Who will the Pats have to contend with should they do as well as expected? How many times do you expect to invoke the "mercy rule" on opponents? By the way, should there be such a rule or just let the score be what it may be. (i.e. Either get better or get killed type philosophy)

Oh come on...You can have good (great) athletes but if there is no direction, they won't be successful. (In other words a poor coach can screw up great athletes..He didn't do that!). Could you not tell the difference in the quality of athletes that hit the field for JCM this year as opposed to say previous years? They simply weren't there! (And they won't be next year). With that logic are you saying that you will not be able to judge your incoming coach until every kid that played for Hampton has gaduated. No, I'm not saying your previous coach was a reicarnation of Knute Rockne, and I'm not saying that perhaps some things were not as good as they could be, but give the guy a little credit. It'll be a cold day in the "bad place" before JCM will be competetive on the football field again...unless you drop to the 2A ranks. This year will be just like last year...Last Place in the region...Bank on it!!!!
