West's defensive is playing well. With the key injuries to Central, I predict West by 10. However, the bottom line is who holds on to the football.

The problem for West lies in themselves, not Maryville. Yes, Maryville is a great football team. But right now, if there is one team in East Tennessee that could beat Maryville, it would be West. West may lose this one, but it will be because of mental mistakes. This is a very talented team, but a very undisciplined one as well. Look for West to keep it close. If they don't have mental lapses, you may see an upset. West by 1 or Maryville by 10

The key to West "keeping up" with Maryville is mistakes. Have you seen West's offense, you never know who is going to show up. Sometimes it is this machine that can rock anybody in thier region. Then sometimes it looks like the bad news bears of football. Remember that 3rd down and 50 they had against Bearden. The key to winning this game lays with mental focus. Who will have it and who will not. Although Maryville is turning the ball over more recently. One word, "capitalize."

I'll tell you why, to beat a great team like Maryville, you have to play mistake free. If there is something that West is good at, it's making mistakes. West is not disciplined enough to beat Maryville. They will hang in there in the first half and then Maryville will blow them out in the second. This will happen because of mental lapses on West's part.

Halls wins this one. They are about to get rolling. Not a big fan of the big red, but they have good coaches and a young team. They will improve throughout this season.

So if there is little community involvement, then a team cannot be successful?

Obviously, Marryville is the best team in Eastern Tennessee. They are ranked 23rd in the U.S. They have not always been the powerhouse that they have been the in recent years. What is the difference? Is it coaching, the kids, the community, or a combination? Can that success be copied in other programs here in East Tennessee?

It is not a matter of athletes. It is a matter of playing winning football. Discipline, desire and the lack of mistakes is what wins football games. Knox West has had issues with these principles in the past. Now if they play like they are capable, I don't see Morristown winning. However, which team is going to show up tonight for Knox West? Disciplined or Undisciplined.
