It's called not showing anything new... and just controlling the clock. Milan won by 3 TDs playing an offense that they run vs. teams like Trenton, GC, and Dresden this year. Milan did nothing special and didn't run what most of their players were telling me they were going to run... that being some shot gun, because they didn't want to show Alcoa anything after figuring out GP was a pretender.

Agree.... I just had to let that off my chest... JCS is what... 7-5? Got beat by 2 TDs at Jackson by Milan, beat two mediocre teams in the playoffs, talked trash all week, and fans sit on their horns while coming to the game. This all before playing a 12-0 team @ Johnnie Hale... act like you been there before... before getting your butt handed to you every way possible. Then, they have the audacity to come on here complaining.... well tell your fans, coaches, and players to keep their mouths shut and Coach Morris won't try to run it up on you.

That's what happens when your classless fans comes to Milan's territory and has their emergency lights on and honking their horns on their way to the game. Who is JCS... I mean serious.... Take your butt whipping and go back to Jackson and go blow on a air horn in your recliner while listening to Milan play next week. Pot meet kettle!

I find it hilarious that Westview fans, and others, are laughing at Milan because Martin lost by 3. That tells you the state of the two programs and how great the Bulldogs are. You say Martin played a complete game? If you call Martin's offensive performance a complete game, then you need to go watch football for another 17 years. Milan turned the ball over not once, not twice, not thrice, but four times and still won. Teams that are minus 4 in the T/O dept. don't win, yet Milan did. Milan must be the greatest team ever if Martin played a complete game, Milan loses the turnover battle by 4, and Milan still wins. Hey, you got your moral victory now go watch some Lady Charger Basketball!

Milan needs a new defensive coach? Try taking out the top 2 DBs on any team and filling them in with young players that haven't played much at all this year vs. a team that passes 95 percent of the time. Not as easy as on Madden young Jedi.

If you were to told me Milan lost their top two DBs in J.W. Williams and Tristian Peoples then I woulda told you we get beat. Yet, Milan came up big again without two of their top playmakers and top DBs and still won vs. an undefeated team. Not sure what happened to Tristian, but it looked like the Docs were examining his neck or head on the sideline.

This game worries me because JW is not there. I'm not going to call a DB because that would be just wrong but there is one on Milan's team that is very very suspect and worries me against a very good passing game.

It makes no sense for UT to me because watching UT is like watching a superstar in Parker with a bunch of average players that are very streaky. UT needs a girl that can take someone off the dribble, soar in the air, and nail a conteseted 15 foot jumper. I've never seen a girl shoot and hit so many contested jumpers than Chantel and look so smooth doing it.

I posted this thread after 3 calls... not meaning the refs costed Milan the game lol. I think it was early in the 3rd that I posted this. Anways, I think the problem Milan fans has is that we attacked the rim all day while Marshall Co. was a perimeter oriented team. Milan usually has 4 FTs in the first 3 minutes of the game not an entire game. To have that many offensive rebounds and to shoot a limited amount of 3s and instead attacking the basket is just hard to digest that Milan was at the line only 4 times, which 2 of them came on jump shots after Poston and Gray got fouled and still hit the shot and the other 2 came with 28 seconds left in the game. I didn't particularly like the refs, but I will certainly not take anything away from Marshall Co. because they got some players.

You don't have to apologize to me because at time I'm the world's worst at blaming everyone from the refs to even the announcers; it's human nature and all have done it. From reading the threads, it seems like I came across as someone bashing Lashay. In no way did I intend to bash Lashay; it was meant more to compliment Chantel for being an offensive force and then doing an amazing job on the Miss Basketball winner. I think you're a gator fan judging by the name so I guess with me being a Vol fan, it's just in our blood types to disagree lol BTW... did you happen to catch the Vols-Gator game Wednesday night after the TSSAA? I listened to it on the radio on the way back to Milan, and I'm surpised I didn't wreck.

Last night, I thought I tried to say Lashay was a great player. If I failed to, I apologize. It's a tough matchup for Lashay to be on someone with the size, strength, speed, jumping ability, etc... If any of you watch SEC BB, it's like the Temple kid from LSU on the elite SEC guards. Would I take the Temple kid over Lofton, Gaines, etc.... Heck no! However, there's no doubt that he is a great defensive player that can hound and take away and limit the strengths of a star player. I thought I was saying Lashay was a great player last night, but like I said I apologize if that didn't come across with my props to Chantel's game yesterday.

Tell gator I did overreact yesterday about the Chantel comment, and I apologize. I really have never come into any kind of discussion with him before so didn't know if he was one of those who bashes everything when loses. He obviously is not, and I apologize. However, I think he knows what the reaction would've been if I said Lashay was ____________ and inserted a negative comment. In no way was I hear to pi$$ off Gator, it was more of defending Chantel. However, the discussion should've stopped when he edited his comments, and I failed to do that.

Not at all. Lashay is a 3 I think when they call the lineups, but in actuality she's really a PG because the 2 games I've seen she brings the ball up the court and sets up the offense. Chantel is a rare physical specimen that you don't see everyday in Girls HS Basketball. She is a post player that can play anything from 2-5. It's tough when you have a 5'10 girl that is fast, can jump, and has a good basketball IQ hounding you. It reminds me of Candace Parker (not comparing Chantel to Candace lol) but how hard is it for other girls on the offensive end to have someone who is a few inches taller than her, can jump high, and is step for step with you the whole time? It's just a tough matchup for Lashay, but it's a matchup that is a once in a blue moon thing because Chantel is a once in a blue moon player. This in no way is taking away from Lashay because I would take 5 Lashay's on my team any day. There are matchup problems in basketball, and this is one of them. BTW.... What schools are Lashay looking at?

I'm not accusing you of being an enemy lol If me posting that Chantel limited Lashay to 6 points is saying Chantel is superior than you're mistaken. 1 on 1 everyone including Upperman fans know that Lashay is no match for Poston. However, that's not a knock on Lashay it just shows that Chantel can guard players like the Lashay, Rooney from OC, etc... I do think Chantel should've won Miss Basketball, but like I said it was because she was a senior with great stats like Davis and the kicker for me was Chantel's performance yesterday. 1 game does make a difference when the kids are so close in statistics for that great award. Lashay did deserve it like Chantel and the Hillcrest girl deserved it. Milan did lose the state because Marshall Co. was superior on this day. Milan missed a lot of chances on putbacks while Marshall County killed us with big 3s and big offensive rebounds. Marshall Co. deserved it with the spanking they put on GC, which I thought would never had happened and also with them beating A-E in the semi-finals. This thread was long gone until someone posted in it. I didn't revive the thread. Instead, I responded to someone that said my comments were crap when all I did was defend a Milan player and just tell what Milan did to win the game.

1. I never said Upperman wasn't close. I said Milan controlled the game and was dominant for most of it. Milan was up 10 at the end of 3 and held Upperman scoreless for almost 6 minutes in the 4th quarter while they went on a 13-0 run to start. If that's close... then you can call it close. 2. I know gatorbill isn't crazy. I took offense to a comment about Poston, and I overreacted. I will admit I overreacted. However, all the Upperman fans would've overreacted if I said Lashay Davis had a bad attitude and would've bashed me. You say I don't know when to stop... maybe you should tell some of the posters to point out where I crossed the line. I haven't done anything except make an observation of the game. My observation was based on fact yet somehow I'm causing trouble. Like I said, point out some of my comments that were "crap" as some poster called it.

The refs didn't cost Milan the game, and I was talking about the refs in general thus far in the tourney. Marshall Co. was better and had several daggers. I want you to back up your facts that 1. I bashed Lashay Davis when I said I thought Chantel deserved it and 2. I posted crap yesterday. Point those out for me.... oh wait you can't and just like to spout off when you have no argument!

Great game from a Milan fan. One of the most athletic games I've ever seen from a HS Girls game. Where is that March girl going to school? She can play anywhere on the floor. Chantel and Shaniqua played well, but Marshall Co. hit some daggers with those 3s and also with some crucial offensive rebounds.

If I'm a bad guy for taking up for a Milan play then so be it. Gator apologized, and I probably overreacted. You guys would overreact if I came on here and said Lashay Davis is a poor sport as well. The rest of my posts pointed out facts from the game. Milan led by 10 at the end of 3 and scored the first 13 points in the 4th so I don't know what announcer you was listening to. Care to point out any of the crap I posted? Because if crap is me pointing out Chantel held Lashay to 6 points.... then yea I post crap. If it's crap because I pointed out Coach V told Hamn and his other players to back off and let the other Upperman girls outside of Lashay shoot long range shots then yes I post crap. To see one of the most amazing girls to come through Milan and girl's basketball in West TN cry and not even get to enjoy the awards she won showed to me that she wants to win badly with her teammates and not get caught up into the fact that she's one of the rarest players in terms of all around game that AA Basketball Fans have seen. The radio broadcasters said Milan has nothing to hang their heads about. While that is comforting, I guarantee you those players feel they lost a winnable game, and they lost their chance to get the 2 that carried them in Chantel and Shaniqua a championship.

It pains me to see her crying and not even being able to stand there and receive her award and pose for a picture. She along with Shanqiua Gray has meant so much to Milan, and we have enjoyed every year of them since Middle School. Hate to see them not get over that edge and win the state championship, but Chantel and Shaniqua got bigger things in the future, and the sky is unlimited. Go to Purdue and make Milan look good!
