  1. You're delusional. Liberty barely beat Chester County. Southside by at least 28 , and thats only if SS's second team plays a half. GO HAWKS!!
  2. Here is a Southside fan's impartial analysis. JCM has a very good passing QB. When we played them, the ball hit the recievers in the numbers a few times and they dropped it (of course hearing the pitter patter of SS linebackers or secondary may have had somehing to do with that ). The few times SS passed at HC we had some success. JCM QB will put the ball where it needs to be, if the recievers learn to catch HC may have difficulty here. JCM will not be able to consistantly stop HC QB on the run (if you figure it out, tell us). This guy is one of the best overall athlete's I've yet seen (that includes FW's Wade Bonnor). If JCM has ground success, it will be to the outside. SS had very limited success inside, but Jontamion did well to the outside. Provided HC is not down from a hard fought overtime loss and the HC QB is at full speed, I believe that train horn will be blowing. I go with the Patriots 28 - 14. (if HC QB is hurt, all bets are off). P.S. Anybody who witnessed the SS/HC game and says SS doesn't hit is delusional. There were intense pops on both sides. P.S. #2. A special thanks to HC for giving our punter some playing time . Also, I have posted some pics of the HC/SS game.
  3. Have also seen Southside play both. The Cougars are in trouble. If HC QB is OK, the cougars are in serious trouble.
  4. That was one incredible football game. I hope Calvin is alright. South Side is pretty banged up, (one player with a probable concussion, one with possibly a dislocated shoulder, many in need of ice tommorrow.) no season ending injuries. South Side has a great football team, and as close as this was, obviously Henry County does to. If it is any consolation, Henry County WILL beat JCM. Sorry Yanker, but that is as close to a sure prediction as a prediction can be.
  5. True, Jontamion Forrest is offensive weapon #1. Fullback Bates was hurt 3wks ago (very similar yardage as Forrest at the time) and is doubtful. (that had me worried going into JCM, but back up Ken James stepped up and you could hardly notice a difference. Bates will be back next week). So, weapon #2 Ken James. Weapon #3 Kirk Armet (like HC QB, if you flush him out of the pocket, you may wish you hadn't). If you concentrate on weapons #1 or 2, Michael Newbern (WR) (weapon #3) or Chris Sipes (TE) (weapon #4) or Malik Fryer (TE) (weapon #5) will make you pay thru the air (or they have previous defenses that have). Perhaps biggest weapon, as Jontamion is the first tell you, is that offensive line. There have been some good seams for them to cut thru. GO HAWKS!
  6. I've enjoyed this board. I doubt I get to check back again before game time. I will leave with this. Southside has no standouts. There are no Div. 1 players on the team. Every starting player is very good though. South Side's offensive streagth is they have no single great weapon, they have many very good weapons. That is hard to defend. Thus far our defense has been dominating. That said, SS knows this will be our hardest test of the regular season. I believe this will be a hard hitting, physical game. I do not believe HC can consistantly stop our offense. On the other side, I am not sure we will consistantly stop yours. I do think South Side will win, in my revised opinion by 14. I pray for a good, safe game- that nobody gets hurt, on either side. GO HAWKS!!
  7. Considering we're playing there, it will probably be more like... southside touchdown; or Henry County makes the stop in the endzone (not refering to a safety). Thinking I just may hear it in the first quarter.
  8. I'm rather hopeful he gets splinters from the bench. It'd rather hear Sipes, Stone, Plemmons, Tipler & McBride on a defensive stop. But nothing compares to .... Give him 6...Jontamion Forrest.. South Side Touchdown!!
  9. Ok, you found it, I didn't want it to get out. That is a weakness for SS. Our punter hasn't been able to get much experiance this year.
  10. If you want to see SS's line, backs or anything else, I've posted some pics I took of 4 of SS past games here on Coach T. Go to SS team page... click "full schedule"... click on the camera beside the game. P.S. Yanker do me a favor keep any SS vunerabilities to yourself until after the game! (I'll do the same for JCM).
  11. Point taken. This should be a great game. Two strong teams, both will hit you. I look forward to seeing it. I hope I smile when I look back on it. Football time in Tennessee- nothing else like it!
  12. What can SS do? SS plays it's region. They move up to 4A for three games and they play 3 cross town rivals. It just occured to me that if SS wins, the exact same arguements made here can be made by their opponent next week. HC has a very good football team, but if SS wins HC is 4 & 4 and the Hawks will have beaten another team that doesn't have a winning record.
  13. I do not think SS will shut out HC. HC will put points on the board, but so will SS. HC has a good team, but this is a very special SS team. My prediction remains- SS by 17
  14. The Hawks are about as good as it gets in west TN 3A. SS puts up alot of offensive numbers, both points and yards. What alot of people don't realize is that the majority of those numbers are posted in the first half. SS's second team offense has been in almost the entire second half in 4 of 6 games and the 4th quarter of another. Southside is having a good week of practice and they are fired up. I'll take the Hawks by 17
  15. South Side travels to Henry Co. Two good teams and the biggest test yet for the Hawks. Any Predictions? My opinion- The Hawks are about as good as it gets in west TN 3A (as is Crockett Co.- if both make it to 3rd round- That will be a game). Henry Co. is a good 4A team. I'll take the Hawks by 14 If the Hawks win here, it's down hill to a perfect regular season.
