Ricky gave a verbal last night to UT Chatt. He will fit in well with the "Chocs."

Casey is a special player and will become one of the best big men to come through West Tennessee. He is a high Division I player and will make a college coach happy one day.

Ricky Taylor from Haywood. 6'4" athletic guard. Wins in the classroom with a 3.7 GPA. Student athlete. They are who we need. Averaging 32.6ppg and 9rpg against district play this year. Averaged 25ppg and 7rpg as a junior. Averaging 23ppg and 8rpg 4apg as a senior due to the depth of his team. All-State Guard, All-Regional, District MVP, All-District, All-District Tournament, First Team All-West Tennessee as a Junior, Jackson Sun's West Tennessee New Comer of the Year as a Sophomore Scored a career high 46 points against Memphis Mitchell as a Junior with a victory. The guy is not a one-dimensional player...can shoot the 3, has the best mid-range game in the state, can finish at the rim, make the smart pass and create for other teammates. This was an exciting game to watch. These two teams went at it the whole game. The best 2 guards in the state went at it- Ricky Taylor and Jarvis Jones. They both have great mid-range game. Taylor had 10 at half time and finished with 33. It was about time Taylor stepped up to lead the Tomcats to a victory.

Justin Blake, Ricky Taylor, and Jarvis Jones are my favorites......Blake is undefeated, Taylor is lighting it up on the scoring board, and Jones is one of the best 2 guards out of Memphis

Thats good that those superior guys have been doing great in summer camps and all, but summer camps do not mean anything. You have to acknowledge the fact that some teams such as Haywood had football players that could not attend the summer camps. Therefore, Mr. Geanes is a great player but don't think he is better than Ricky Taylor because they beat them in a summer game. Ricky Taylor made All-State...use your resources.

AA: Ricky Taylor from Haywood should be in the race. He is averaging 23ppg as a junior leading the young team at Haywood who has a GPA of 3.64 and did well on the ACT. He put up 46 against Memphis Mitchell, a powerhouse!

Haywood's Shaveon Comage and Harrison Jones have been sick with the flu for the past couple of days so that is why you haven't seen their names in the box scores. Shaveon Comage will step up tournament time and turn it up on the scoring end.

Justin Blake This is the top 10 for West Tennessee..I'm ranking players who will thrive at the college level. I have seen Taylor, and he has the total package for college. He can shoot, dribble, pass, score, etc. He has the total package out of West Tennessee. Jewon Long is a great player, and he is a slasher in my opinion. He counts on the pressure defense of Liberty for his scoring. Josh Sain is developing and improving his game, and he will be able to compete on a high D-1 level.

No doubt Haywood County will be making a run in Boro. Haywood has been to the state tourney for the past four years and came up short, but I think they are exceedingly hungry to make a run for it with one of the best junior classes in TN.

Haywood County is having a downfall within their seniors this year, but they still will be on the map with experienced juniors such as Ricky Taylor and Kenny Greer to lead the way. This will be the second year for Coach Varnado, and he expects great things from his young team. They will face state champions Liberty this year twice and the powerhouse Memphis Mitchell.

It sounds nice, but I believe Haywood is a sleeper.
