  1. Both teams played hard to give us a very (almost TOO) exciting game tonight. It was a good game with a heartbreaking finish for TCA but a spectacular finish for Lake County. They are a very good ball team and like TCAMom said, a team with a lot of class. I truly admired what Brandon Springer did in coming to talk to our team after the game. It is clear that he is a young man of character and he realized that but for that one pass he made in the last 10 seconds, he would have been in their place. I sure hate to see the guys lose tonight and end what has been a spectacular season for them. The guys on the TCA Football team are a very special bunch of young men and I have been amazed at how they have taken the setbacks from last year and used them to grow stronger and better individually and as a team. God is good
  2. Yawwwwwning at the redundancy.... Man, I sure hate to say this but I can't help hoping that JCS beats McKenzie JUST so we don't have to read more of this pep rally dialog over and over again next week. Can't we just discuss football? Everything doesn't have to be smack talk you know.
  3. Actually, the reason for the excitement had little to do with Lake County at all. We were jumping for joy because we get to play LC at HOME and we would have had to travel back to FA if they had won (not to mention the top notch field and concessions income at home...). The players actually wanted to get the chance to avenge their loss to FA but now their focus is on beating LC so they can get another swipe at JCS.
  4. As if it is all up to the coach.... And no, I am not a coach, I am a parent. A coach is given a group of boys much like a potter is given a lump of clay. The skill of the potter determines what CAN be done with that clay but the quality of the clay itself determines how it turns out. A coach has to have guys with ability and talent to make a team with a winning record and parental support also. Maybe this coach doesn't have the skill it takes to mold the boys into a winning team. His past record doesn't seem to support that but if he has lost his passion, that could explain it. You can't judge the coach by the win/loss record any more than you can by any one player's performance.
  5. Its hard to find the "guilty few" in order to punish this kind of childishness so these acts go unpunished for the most part. If the TSSAA would impose penalties on the offending school, regardless of which students were the culprits, that might stop it. Of course, then the guilty kids would just vandalize their OWN school in order to see their rival punished The only thing that can be done is to make punishment of those who get caught swift and sure. Oh, and install security cameras. Costly but our school's busses have been vandalized so many times (broken windows, damaged engines) that we had to do something. It hasn't stopped the punks but at least now we have them on film so there is a chance we can prosecute. We had a rival student do doughnuts on our new campus lawn one Saturday night. Because the sod was new, poor boys truck got stuck and he had to leave it. It was a sight to behold on Sunday as the Sheriff supervised the kid and his dad filling all of those tire ruts
  6. Go to www.tssaa.org There is a breakdown of the classification there.
  7. These are two strong teams with FA coming off of their first loss and TCA coming off of the first really tough game since week 3. FA is going to be out to regain their pride and Trinity just got a wakeup call. Its going to be an exciting game to say the least with so much at stake. I think it will come down to errors with the winner being the team that can keep their focus and not let the hype distract them. I predict a close one too but I suspect TCA wants it more and that may make the difference. I am too biased to predict an outcome
  8. I gotta hand it to Wayne County, they did a fantastic job coming back from a 28 point deficit. They gave an exciting game,a little TOO exciting for the TCA fans. Had they played like that the first half, things would have been different. Good luck to both teams next week
  9. 8A only has 6 teams this year and when JCS moves up to 2A next year, that leaves 5 while 7A has 8 teams. So what do you think will happen? Will they move 1 or more of the 7A teams to 8A or will they reshuffle both regions? Or, is it possible that 8A will remain a tiny region with only 5 teams? If you look at the geography, it might make sense to move Lake County to 8A. Does anyone know what is to happen?
  10. 1AMAN, I hope that gametime101 isn't a TCA student/player/fan. If he is, he surely does NOT represent the school or its fans! You are right, Trinity does have the best team that they have ever had and none of them take that for granted. They have acheived their success this year by perseverance and hard work, not to mention many setbacks in the past, particularly last year. And I can sincerely say that humility is a big part of the TCA mindset this year; they know how quickly success can be snatched away. gametime101 isn't a part of that. Thanks for the good word for the TCA bunch, that means a lot. It doesn't matter what level of success you attain or fail to attain, it only matters how you handle it. I think this will be a tight game between two good teams. I won't predict a winner, only a great game!
