  1. I am surprised that no one is addressing the true origination of the fight. The "N" word was used on the court toward the Cascade player he was defending. That is unacceptable. And, for the dad to come on to the court, and try to punch, and actually connect to at least 2 Cascade players, is legally and morally wrong. This man had no business being on the court, especially since his kid is the one who started it with inappropriate language. I have heard that the kid called the black Cascade player and apologized and the parents of the two met today to talk. The Cascade dad is a bigger man that I would be to accept and forgive. Personally, the Unionville dad would be paying for my kids' college after what he did Friday night. God knows the man can afford it. Anyway, hope the kids don't get suspended for too long, but I am proud for the team sticking together, and watching out for one another. And despite what anybody says, Coach Pope is a good man, and a good coach.
  2. This isnt gonna be a good game for shelbyville, but i got somethin to say bout ashley smith from shelbyville she's number fifteen and plays wing and forward. she does a lot for her team and i think she is a little low on the girls top rated soccer players. She also played great in the siegel game and showed great leadership.
  3. I am not knocking the few new kids that are on Cascade's team. However, here's your foot back. The only true new kid is the transferred Jacob Carkuff. Cascade has always pulled punters/kickers in from other sports at the school. The turn around of the team is mostly in part of a new offensive coordinator, different coaching methods and thinking from the coaching staff, and sheer determination by defensive coordinator/weight trainer Coach Austin to have this team in top physical condition. These boys were in the weight room all summer, thanks to Coach Austin. Cascade has not played a team yet, that wasnt gasping for air when leaving the field at halftime. Yet Cascade is so well conditioned and so deep in every position that they stay fresh. There are 20 juniors on this Cascade team that have played together since at least 7th grade at Cascade. Juniors like Nate, Timmy, Pickett, Ryan, Martin, Bain, Gathright, Albert, & Corey are forces to be reckoned with and they're still growing. Something has to be said for that alone. That's why you have the turn around. Cascade has known for several years that this year and next year would be awesome.
  4. Carkuff is anything but frail physically. I saw him take an extremely late hit into a fence in the useless town of Chapel Hill and walk away from it, cheering his team on to victory while on his way to the ambulance. He repeatedly takes hits and repeatedly gets up and throws accurately. He returned the next week after his injury and is going strong. Carcuff needs to stick to throwing and leave the catchin to the other guys.
  5. We can talk about the teams until the cows come home but to negatively single out players like (Brandon Pickett} seems unfair. I know a little about this guy and size doesn't seem to matter to him. Big or small, he takes them down. He has broken bones during games that no one but him knows about until after the game. That's dedication and determination. This Cascade team has something that no other Cascade team has had in the past. They really click with each other and are all really good friends off the field. Hats off to the coaches and players, ya'll have impressed everyone who has watched you and you have brought a community together. I'm proud to call myself a Champion sideliner screamer .
