  1. The finalist from the eastern part of the State will be from Region 2. Knox Catholic or Fulton. The seniors from Catholic have got to be thinking of the Quarter-final... although, you take one game at a time. these kid have to have this in the back of their heads. 2 yeard ago after an undefeated regular season they lost to a 7-3 Notre Dame team, and last year going 9-1 lost to a 5-5 Livingston team. Both team they defeated earlier in the regular season games. So, mental toughness is a big part of this game and the ability to beat the same team twice in one season plays a big role also.
  2. Wilson Cates is an Ivy Leaguer @ Princeton...(Thats right, not only is he a great athlete he is very smart student as well) And mark my word in 2 yrs Princeton will be on the map because of the leadership this young man has. But, on the other side of the ball in the Semi-final game was Ian Meredith from ND, who went on to the Naval Academy. There are many young men like these, that are in high school sports programs throughout this great state. Hopefully they will return to the state as leaders to keep it the Great Volunteer State that we know and love!!!
  3. Julio.... Do you really think that little of region 3, that the region champs cannot out perform the #4 seed team from region 4? Come on give this poor region their props... you do realize that last year the #1 seed from this region(region 3) single handily went through the #4, #3,#2 seeds from region 4 by an avge of 21 points.
  4. Red, I could not agree with you more about the 2005 Livingston Academy kids...I just had a clipping out looking at the semi-final game and If the game wasn't soo exciting I would be telling you about how cold it was on november 25, 2005. But, the chill in the air took a back seat to the greatest game I ever witness in my 47 years. And I was at fulton county stadium on oct. 10, 1981 when the Dallas Cowboys came from behind with a back-up QB to beat the Atlanta Falcons on a cold windy day. Wilson Cates lead this 5-5 regular season team to a Undefeated post season, going through 5 of the top 3A teams in the state!!! And let it be know Wilson cates was not a one man team, I saw some very talented offensive lineman that did their jobs very well. This was a very well balanced team. This is why I think Region 2-3A is the strongest and toughest region in Tennessee at this time. And thats all I have to say. Thank You for letting me say it....
  5. Charlie Murphy...Good to hear from you this year....I followed your comments through last years playoffs and enjoyed every last one of them. Now do you really think that Meigs Co. can put up 39 point against Sycamore and hold them scoreless. Don't forget ND had the explosive running of Devin Cothon and the dual threat quarterbacks.
  6. Guys I'm not familier with 1A football ....but I know one team that everyone in region 3 overlooked. Please keep an eye on Tennessee Temple. This is a small christen school in Chattanooga. If you never heard of this program it could be because the program is only about 4or 5 years old. But don't let that fool you, these young men are focus and determined to win. their key player in my opinion should win Mr. football in 1A. Also don't think this is a one man team because it is not, they will come at you in a number of ways and they are good...

  10. Sorry, but this match up won't be first round....Pearl-Cohn has Polk County in the first round. Pearl-Cohn defeated Station Camp to take Region 4-3a....
  11. 1-Region 2 2-Region 4 3-Region 3 4-Region 5 5-Region 6 6-Region 1 7 Region 8 8-Region 7 Do you Agree or Disagree ?
  12. I honestly believe that each player on both sides understand the importance of this game. These guy will show up to play, this will be a defensive struggle. I think this one will not produce more than 25 points total. The home crowd will make a big difference, but the home team must score points. Notre Dame's defense has played solid and has improved as the the year progressed. I go with ND 13-8.
