  1. I would love to see Centennial take this one (Go Region 6!!!), but you would have to pick up a heck of a lot of momentum to take down Dickson County. If you do, it will be a sad day for Bruin fans everywhere! Good luck Cougars! Let's make sure two Region 6 schools come out on top over Region 4 tonight!
  2. I have to agree with bearfeet here. 31 points is awfully optimistic!
  3. Who will walk away with the W tomorrow night? Brentwood will have to move the ball a lot more effectively than they did against Smyrna...
  4. The qb situation is down to 2. I will predict that soph Jordan Evans is under center tomorrow.
  5. What kind of information are you looking for? I would love to be able to give you the insight you are seeking, but after attending a few scrimmages, I'm more confused than ever. I have no clue what kind of team will take the field tomorrow night. We could be awful or we could be amazing. Tomorrow night, a lot of questions will be answered. Patience...
  6. Right now it's between Trey Rickert (senior) and Jordan Evans (soph). If the first game were today, I think Rickert would get the start.
  7. I also wanted to mention that a huge key to Brentwood success this season will be the O-line. We are returning 3 of 5 starters and 1 player who logged quite a bit of playing time last season. 16 more days until things become a lot clearer...
  8. A lot of the major playmakers from last year are gone, but many younger guys logged some playing time last year giving them an advantage going into 2007. Some that saw considerable playing time and are returning are: Tyler Mustin Payton Fugate Tommy Parrish AJ Krow Cole Tischer Cameron Mason It's really too soon to say what the season holds for the Bruins.
  9. I think you are exactly right. That's my opinion.
  10. Ummm....no, Independence didn't win the region. They didn't even make it to the playoffs.
  11. I wasn't able to make it...How did Brentwood look?
  12. I think you might be surprised. The only reason Brentwood didn't advance past the 1st round last year was a horrible call on a PAT. This year's team will be an improvement over that. The Bruins were very young and inexperienced last year. I think you will see an increased level of leadership and the team coming together and gelling more than in the 2006 season. I guess only time will tell...
  13. The lack of conversation on this board about Brentwood is unfortunate. Anyone want to weigh in on what we are looking like at QB? Who will be taking Coach Daniel's position? Key positions returning? Anything!
  14. What does the QB position look like now? Barring any transfers, who can we expect to be taking the snaps in August?
  15. I am interested by the fact that you point out Mcgaw, Brown, and Doster (I don't see Rash listed on the roster at all in 06). All three players are sophs, but didn't see much, if any, playing time last season. Meanwhile, there were three sophs that saw significant playing time that you failed to mention. These players show tremendous promise as leaders for the team in 07. If they work on strength and speed in the off season, a return to the playoffs is imminent, and from there...
  16. Has anyone seen a preliminary schedule for the Bruins?
  17. Anyone care to discuss what Brentwood will be bringing to the table this fall? Returning players, staff changes, schedule...?
  18. McNine: I totally agree that Independence was the Cinderella story of Region 6 this season. I personally would have loved to see them make it to the playoffs...you see, I live in Spring Hill, so Indy is technically my local team. I have followed their progress in the local papers all year, and have been pulling for them (behind Brentwood, of course). Unfortunately, the momentum they had going into the Dickson Co. game kind of fizzled with that and the subsequent losses. My heart truly broke for them as they huddled up after the game Friday night. You could see the heartbreak on their faces and they stayed there long after the Brentwood huddle broke. Hats off to a great Indy season and (mostly) classy fans. You all had fantastic spirit throughout the game and I know that kept the team going. Maybe ya'll could come give the Brentwood fans some pointers!!
  19. All season I have been lurking on this board, reading the posts and enjoying the discussion. Not until now have I felt compelled to post. But things like this really chap my hide. You know who deserved the win on Friday? The team that won! Just like Independence deserved the win against Franklin, Franklin deserved the win against Brentwood, and Brentwood deserved the win against Ravenwood. Brentwood has done a tremendous job of making the most of a very young team this season. They have practiced hard and played their hearts out. Now, to be fair, Indy played a very good game. They played with a lot of heart and you could tell how badly they wanted it. But so did the boys in blue, and they pulled off a great win (maybe not pretty, but great nonetheless) to cement their place in the playoffs for the 10th year in a row. I am so proud of this Brentwood team. The coming years look very promising!! Good luck in the playoffs, Bruins!!
