I never in any way said that the principal would be next. The okay to terminate Mr Summey came from the top and board members. You don't believe Summey was a political hire?????? That is hilarious. I am sorry to say but that statement alone discredits about anything you "think" you may know about the situation. Athletic contributors???? Again that is comical. Call Gregory and ask him who contributors,( I bet he would like to have a few) I am sure he would gladly show you his books. To my knowledge the problems were not over playing time or position. In fact the complaints were from parents of kids all of whom were starters and that number was into two digits. It sounds to me that you are either listening to Mr Summey only, reading the Buzz, or you may in fact other issues I don't know, but none of what you posted is even close to the real situation.

I don't post much anymore but lurk often. I can't believe some of the misinformation, and out right lies that get posted on here from time to time. I have direct access to information on oak grove. I can tell you plain and simple Mr Summey's wounds were self inflicted, there was no conspiracy, it could have all been avoided. If you handle situations correctly there is no need to watch anyones back. Or cover your rear end. Some of you know it alls should just give Gregory a call, I think he will give you a straight story. If you have ever dealt with him he is a straight shooter. Summey was not wooed. It was a political hire plain and simple. There were a small group of people that pulled strings that got him hired(they rang the phones off the hook at oak grove). Truth is he was wayyyyyyyy down the list of most of those that were involved. That order (to hire)came from board members and the top. Political all the way. Not based on credentials in any form or fashion. Untill those things change in Monore County. You will continue to get the same.

The other kid I am told is one of the hardest workers on the team, never misses workouts, practices, and changed positions 3 times last year to help the team and never once complained or so I was told and it was not by a (daddy coach). If the senior leadership last year was so great last why just one senior captain when they had a secret ballot of anyone they could vote for in the Jr,Sr class(see post above) I bet you will smile (on the fence) and talk, with the knife in the other hand, but people WILL know count on it!

The only kids that are having a problem with Coach Summey are the ones that have been used to doing what ever they want to do. You follow the rules and be respectful and no kid will have a problem with Coach Summey he is a fair and just man. Your cousin must be one of those 3, he wouldn't know what he was talking about on or off the court, classroom, etc etc. he is just simply a hothead. News flash for you doing the right thing dosen't always make you a fan favorite. Not making change because it is what ever time of year it is makes absolutely no sense. It is just another excuse to be lazy and do nothing. Here is a new concept for you how about being proactive? What rules did he try to enforce that are not in the handbook? I don't think every rule can be included in a handbook. I can tell you who looks foolish to EVERYONE in the community is those teachers and administrators that have had problems with ANY of the things that Coach Summey has tried to correct . I mean my lord somethings are just common sense. I and most people in the community could care less what the teachers union has to say about kids sleeping in class. Point blank it is totally unacceptable. If teachers are embarrassed then DO THE JOB THEY ARE BEING PAID TO DO! You say he dosen't have support of the faculty? I beg to differ. There were 3, thats right 3 teachers that complained. I know who they were and the community is also finding out who they were. Those three are a poison, a cancer, they need to be gone now. You have a small group over there that don't want the status quo to change so they can continue drawing a paycheck without earning it. If Mr Mosier wants to continue to listen to those three and by now dosen't know better, then his managerial skills are at best very suspect. That school needs STRONG leadership and by the decisions that are being handed down out there it is evident that the leadership, backbone and having the guts to do the right things is not even on the charts. I heard someone say the other day you simply cannot defend the defenseless. I think that sums it up pretty well. You can put any kind of spin you want to on it. End of the school year , hand book, teachers union bla bla bla,,, right is right and wrong is wrong, its really not that hard. When you REALLY want to do the right things its amazing how far common sense can take you. The way he is running study hall sounds to me is exactly what SQHS needs right now. My self and many many others are sick and tired of the direction of that high school. It is constant unnecessary drama. Those that will will and they are many. Those that want do there job , then go hide behind the union or whatever else lame EXCUSE "YOU" can come up with. I haven't been wrong many times on here and I can promise you this is not going to go away and the right things ARE going to be done. Vonore and Madisonville rec. league teams at least have fields with irrigation! I don't want to hear any whining about not having any money either. Get off your butts and make something happen. I wonder how many kids get hurt playing on the dunes every year. Get a life and put in some irragation and plant some grass for goodness sakes! Take some pride in your facility. I agree RedNation what a great hire for SQHS, the kids and the community. He is a quality man with great character. As a Head Coach he has won one state championship and lost another by 3 points! He will be a huge help to Coach Summey! Mr Moser again thank you. Many Many people in the community are taking note at the changes being made, some of which were I am sure not easy to make. Stay the course better days are on the horozion. Mr Moser has just done what Coach Summey has talked about he has dramatically raised the bar!!!!!!!!!

I believe what I said was a MAJOR impact. What happens is at the 4 year mark you then start to get deeper into the number of kids that have been in the weight room for a longer period of time. I don't know this too be true but I will bet you the sophomore class was almost as stong as the senior class last year when you compare there strength numbers and that is simply because they have been in the training program the same amount of time. Now when these sophomores turn seniors those numbers as compared to the then soph. class will not even be close. I would think maybe even to you a major impact at the 4 year mark does not seem so RIDICULOUS now! You seem awfull negative for someone who has not helped in anyway for at least 2 years. It is mighty easy to throw rocks at people when you are not in the game! There are other words for that but I want use them here. IMHOP

I am not a coach, have not been a coach and have no plans to be a coach at SQHS. Now is that plain enough for you? I have conversations with the coaches,members of the booster club, and administration on an on going basis about many things. I bent no words and didn't try and make anyone believe anything nor did I insinuate anything! I simply pointed out your observations about ME were incorrect. I was not responding to a deposition simply making a simple post. Had I known that so much was going to be read into every word I would have tried to be more clear. I post on here most of the time to correct misinformation. Based soley on what I believe to be the facts. They could only workout about 10 kids at a time! I am sure the booster club president would be glad to tell you how much was spent to the penny. From what I am told the kids are getting stronger. I have heard these numbers mentioned that from the first year of have something like 7 kids that could bench press over 200lbs to over twenty maybe even over 25 that could bench over 200lbs last year, the second year. My understanding is that you need to have a solid weight program in place for 4 years to start to seeing major results. The majority of teams were way ahead of SQHS on there weight training program. I am not sure of the above numbers someone else will have to verify if they are correct or not. I heard Half Pint telling some folks last year that a team they scrimmaged last year, some of the kids came up to him and told some of the coaches that they could tell that SQHS was a lot stronger than the year before. Half Pint can comment on this much more than I can. I think the field house just needs some love, I don't think it is falling in or anything like that. I think Coach Summey just wants it as nice as he can for the kids. IMHOP

I did say you were no coach you responded that I wasn't either and I told you that I never said I was a coach. I think you are watching to much CSI. You don't have to be a coach to have inside information! My information has been accurate and fair. I have attacked no one or have I made "wild" accusations that are not true. I have simply stated the "facts" as I know them to be true. My identity is irrelevant as long as I continue to divulge facts as I know them to be true . My reasons for keeping that private are mine and mine alone. Some on the other hand have made accusations that have hurt and offended people. I unlike some have no hidden agenda. Excellent post!!!

Sorry not a coach as I told you before. I think you are reading to much into my post, but I was told about the attitudes by a coach. I have been at practice and saw the attitudes as you have.

We all want the same thing just different opinions on what the best way is to get there. After all it is a discussion board. Bottom line SID if you lost friends for expressing your opinions on a message board they weren't much of a friend to begin with. The problem as I see it SID is that you are trying to defend the defenseless. I was raised in a fashion that you got praise and thank you for performance that exceeded expectations not for doing just what was expected of me. Is that right? I have no idea. I do know it seems to work in my world. I have heard Coach Summey talke about raising the bar across the board. There is no question in my mind that he hit the bulls eye dead center with that statement. I will give the principal credit for really making some very tough calls the last few months. I am sure they were not easy to make. I firmly believe that by getting the high quality people around him that seems to be taking place will help make him a better principal. I believe he is a good man that will do the right thing. Having these people around will give him the support he needs to make those tuff calls he must make everyday. I for one would not want his job! I would bet that almost 90% of the improvements you mention (maybe more) have been done by volunteers. The fact that they were simply given permission to do it will not garner any praise from my corner. Yes many improvements have been made but in my opinion that credit should go to all the volunteers that got these projects completed. All I can tell you on the basketball tournament is what the AD told me himself. The reason the tournament was discontinued was they "could not get coaches and or teachers to work it over the holiday break" there was never any mention of teams dropping out made to me and we had that conversation at least twice. It is my understanding that the booster club would have liked for it to continue. We could also discuss the fact the athletic department could have had the concession stand back from the band but the coaches of the other sports were not interested in working it! Make no mistake there are some very good people at that school. Very dedicated and want the best for the kids. I applaude those people and encourage them to beat the drum loud and hard to set an example of the way it should be done in our school systems. Also make no mistake that there are some that need to STEP UP TO THE PLATE and do more than just the minimum to get by. If they can't don't want to or for what ever there reason can't " raise the bar across the board" then in my honest opinion they should immediatly consider a career change. Or maybe just maybe in the future it will be considered for them. They have a choice! Step up and make a difference! Some great moves have been made. The train is leaving the station. Get on board those kids deserve absolutley no less. IMHOP
