Looking at our schedule its not that strong. But I do think Polk and Central will be the toughest two games. Central has alot coming back. They should be pretty good next year. Its the year after that you will see them drop off some. Polk was young this year, I look for them to be pretty good next year. They are my preseason favorite to win the District.

They played each other in 2004. Also in 2003, 2002, 2001. They have split these 4, two games each.

You are right, Sequoyah was in complete controll of this game. Way to finish out the year Chiefs. Gonna miss this group of Seniors, its been a joy watching you guys. Through all that you have had to deal with, you guys have done a great job. I also agree that #23 had his best game of the year. The Defense played awesome, Meigs coundn't move the ball at all against the 1st unit. The offense was equally impressive. Breeden had his best game, I also thought that Moser had his best game, White had a great game also. Oline had a real good night. I also think that the Chiefs have found themselves a Reciever for the next couple of years, #2 (Bell) had a real good game. That was a heck of a catch he made on the sidelines. He has looked real good the last 2 games. Thank you Seniors & good luck in all that you guys go on to do. To the rest of the team, work hard and get better, get back in the weightroom don't let that slide. Next season will be here before you know it. GO CHIEFS!!!

This will be a good matchup. Speed is a wash both teams have it. Central is better on D and on special teams. I also think central will win this game by running the ball right at Howard. Misdirection is what really gives Howard trouble, make those linebackers have to read. If you just run basic lead plays Howards speed on D is tuff. Howards only advantage in this game is that they are at home its tuff to beat them at their place. If Central plays well and can limit penalties and misques, they will win this game. Central 28 - 14

This is going to be a great game between two good ball teams. Look for a close game all the way till the finale horn. The key match up in this game will be Polks D vs Central's O. If the Charger score over 3 TD's they will win. If Polks D can limit them and keep it below that it will be anybody's game. Weather will play a part if the field gets in bad shape. You can talk about towels, oil on hands, mudd on hands, keeping hands wet, buckets of water, wet balls all you want. Its the field turf conditions that make the big difference. It's hard to run on muddy slick fields. It takes away on what you can do. This usually brings the scoring down, if the field stays pretty firm even if there is some wet grass it won't make as big a difference. Good luck to both teams. I think Central has the edge.

Great Job Chiefs. This was a fun game to watch, both teams played well. 2 point game with a chance to win it at the end. I don't think alot of folks thought it would be this close. Offense played well, moved the ball up & down the field quite a bit in this game. Defense also played well, Howard had a tough time running the ball in this game. Congrats to the Senoirs on senoir night. You guys will be missed, you have alot of class, and alot of HEART! You guys play hard all the time and it has been a joy watching you play. We have got Miegs Co next week, this is a game we can win, so work hard this week in practice and finish on a good note. GO CHIEFS!!!

To awnser your question about PC or MC. These are teams that are very different on offense in thier approach. Both are good teams with good Defenses. Central is better on special teams. This game will be determined by Polks defense vs Centrals Offense. If Polks D can limit Central and keep it low scoreing they will have a real shot at winning. If Central scores more than 3 times the chargers will win. I don't think Polks offense can put up alot of points on Central's D.

Good post! Coach S. will need to be given time. Sequoyah has been a revolving door for coaches since the school has been built. We will never be able to build a program if the coaches are not given the time to. At the end of last season and seeing this team this spring I really thought we had a real chance of winning 6 to 8 games this year. After what happened in the summer it really set this team back. These kids keep paying the price for the adults problems. Now I am not downing coach Satterfield at all, I think he will do a good job if allowed the time to do it. He came into a tuff spot. It was already summer, he had no coaches, and was wondering if we would even have a team. I agree with you J. that we need to be patient. One would think that coach will probably try to hire some more coaches. I don't know which coaches will be on this staff next year, they had to do what they could for this season. I also agree with you that this team loses alot of good Seniors. I am alos not knocking the kids behind them, but it will be alot of positions to fill. I think next year will almost be like starting over, so it will be hard to tell where the program is. I do know this, It will take some time for this program to turn a corner. We need to let coach S. and whoever is on his staff do their jobs and leave them alone, if we like them or not. If we don't then this program will go no where.

Alot of these games down the stretch will be very close. I don't think it will be a case of people playing down to other teams level. It will be some pretty good teams just trying to find a way to win some tough games.

Big game for both teams. Polk is a solid team, who will be very tough at home. The Chiefs Must play well in this one. The Key for the Chiefs is Defense. If we can limit polks offense the Chiefs will have a real shot at winning this game. I would not be surprised to see Sequoyah come out of Benton with a win. GO CHIEFS!!!

I know this is a AAA - AA - A thread. I am a Sequoyah fan and we are 3A. I had seen this info and I was reading this thread and thought I would post it because I think it is amazing. Coach Quarles at Maryville. Overall record as head coach 130 - 9, He has won 6 out of the last 9 - 4A state titles, He is currently on a 67 game win streak, in the last 8 years he has only lost 2 games. WOW!!!
