  1. Congradulations to all for playing hard and letting us enjoy the sport. Personally, I think certain teams are over rated due to a large bench. Therefore some of the better players from smaller pools are overlooked and over worked, hurt and still play. To all those that played hard and worked hard to enjoy the game and play ball "THANK YOU".
  2. drj and houston or others where is your input? How are the rankings and what is going on in the west/Memphis area in soccer? Thanks in advance.

Absolutely not! As a McCallie allumni, I think not. From the first minute of the game, it was apparent how the game would be called. Yellow card a player and the coach for a string around the wrist of a player and say it was jewelery! ( So no elastic, rubber bands or anything to help hold socks are premitted except electrical tape. ) There were a lot of unwarratted calls. The refs did seem to side with McCallie. The St. Benedict team is not deep and played well the first half. They played hard the second half but did not have the depth and the refs took the wind out of their sail as I saw it. Would like to pm but don't have the access. --- Let # 4 know that Robert's cousin was playing foward.

McCallie beat St. Benedict soundly 5 -0 ??? Not true! At the half time, it was St. Benedict 2 - McCallie 1... The final score was SBA 2 - McCallie 5. How many yellow cards and penalties were given? SBA all - McCallie -0. HHHmmm.
  5. Division II / West Region SBA 2 - MUS 1

    Title 9

ucsoccer (& all), I appreciate your insight and 1st years (??) in college insight . The title 9 does hurt men's soccer for Tn. as I see it. UT puts its money into Football for most men's athletics,so it seems. U of Memphis has a good men's basketball and good soccer. But it seems it may be the luck o' the Irish to play soccer there. There is another Div 1 in Tn. just starting out, which is great! But, what are some other choices. Div.3 is out because of $$$'s. Div.2 is some scholarship but still dollars. NAIA also scholarship + dollars. In looking at schools, I want to play soccer and get an education. With the hope scholarship, it will afford me $4,000 dollars per year. In looking into playing out of state vs. in state because of $$ figures, it seems that out of state is recruiting more. I am in my junior year and would apprciate your comments. And just for the record, I have played MFClub and there is talent in west Tn. tia
  7. No. There is no option. High school varsity with tssaa rules are very limited. The club and school coaches are supposed to abid by these. It is the players that get hurt by these regulations. The TN boys soccer league is in spring. High school soccer in Tn is also in spring. If you played two minutes of varsity ( per tssaa) you are not qualified to play with your high school team for one year. That is where the problem lies. ( If you changed schools for gang fights, safety, education zoning, etc. it doesn't really matter. If you played two minutes for varsity and your parents had you transferred to another school for safety reasons, it doesn't really matter to tssaa. Some excellent players are put under the radar because of ....do I know him status. thnks, colt
  8. Garrett Felts with Mfc91 is quick and can play most positions. He played varsity in his freshman year and transferred schools so unfortunatley according to tssaa rules he can't play varsity for one year. He is definetly one to watch. He knows the game, can play every position, is a respected leader for the team and has speed and endurance. He played this weekend for the u16 and will be playing @ the John Talley Tournament next weekend. He definitley needs to be seen as a contender for up and coming sophmores.
