  1. Tullahoma is in District 8AAA. Other District teams are Coffee County, Columbia, Franklin County, Lawrence County, Lincoln County and Shelbyville. They have a new head coach this year, Steve Jobe. Coach Jobe is a long-time coach from Mississippi. He coached Faulkner High School, in 1987, to a 30-4 record, winning the state championship. He last coached in 1990 when he retired from the gym. Best of luck to Coach Jobe and the Lady Wildcats!
  2. Coach Seals made his decision to resign after learning of the varsity player grievances, which appear to be valid. I believe that he recognized that continuing to coach the team could be detrimental to the program. Some may feel that the losing record had something to do with it, but it did not. I thank Coach Seals for his 2 years as the THS Girls Coach, and wish him well in his future endeavorers. I am not familiar with Coach Harlow, but have heard many great things about him. It sounds like he would be a great choice for the coaching vacancy. It will take a lot of hard work to build the program, and it needs to begin at the youth level. Until Tullahoma builds a winning basketball program, it will be difficult to get the athletes to want to choose basketball over some of the other sports. Much of Shelbyville's success is due to the fact that they have had a winning program for years, and it is considered "the" sport to play there. Their best athletes, beginning at the youth level, choose basketball as their primary sport.
  3. In successful basketball programs, the high school coach gets involved with the youth programs to insure that there is a strong feeder system in place. How active is Coach Taylor in the feeder programs?
  4. Their last win was December 20 against Signal Mountain. They have had 2 other wins this season - one against Moore Co. and one against Coffee County. The Coffee Co. win was their first District win in several years. Their current record is 3-14 (1-6 in the District). They have had 7 straight losses. Their next 5 games are District games. Good luck Lady Wildcats!
  5. How will Tullahoma do now that they have lost their best player, Tryston Horton?
  6. Coach Muckle is very experienced and knowledgable of the game, and was a good choice for Coffee County. Some of the players, parents and fans do not care for his constant screaming during the games, but that has always been his style.
  7. Congratulations to the Lady Cats, with back-to-back road wins against Moore County and Coffee County! The win over Coffee County was their first District win in several years.
  8. While the school season does not overlap, the girls have opportunities to play year-round in basketball and soccer. I believe that soccer now has a non-school indoor season that overlaps basketball. I think the school basketball and soccer teams have camps in the summer that may overlap, and soccer players on summer traveling teams are unable to participate in summer basketball camps. I think the high school coaches of the various sports encourage their players to commit to their sport over the others, and are not very supportive of the players wanting to do other activities as well.
  9. Tullahoma is in District 8AAA. Other District teams are Coffee County, Columbia, Franklin County, Lawrence County, Lincoln County and Shelbyville. They struggled last year in Coach Mike Seal's first year as Tullahoma's Head Coach, but should show some improvement this year. Good luck Lady Wildcats!
  10. Coach Muckle moved back to Tullahoma. I believe that he is teaching at Westwood Middle School in Manchester, but has no plans to coach basketball this year.
  11. The Tullahoma girls basketball 2007-08 season, under new coach Mike Seals, will begin on November 15. Their schedule has been posted at http://www.tullahomasports.com. Tullahoma is a Class AAA, Region 4, District 8 team. Other District teams are Coffee Co., Columbia, Franklin Co., Lawrence Co., Lincoln Co. and Shelbyville.
  12. Coach Seals is the new Coach of the Tullahoma Girls Varsity Basketball team. He has already taken his new team to 3 camps this summer.
  13. Mike Seals has been named the new Girl's Varsity Basketball Coach at Tullahoma High School.
