  1. Thanks man! I'm the lead trumpet player at SC an that's a lofty complement. I appreciate it. We work hard. That's all we can do. Best band in the mid-state BY SIZE: Small: I'd have to say that would be Goodpasture Medium: That's going to be a 3 way tie in my opinion. We (Smith County "Pride of the Upper Cumberland")are right up there with Forrest (Rocket Band of Blue) and Sycamore is a really strong program this year as well. Large: Siegel...no doubt X-Large: Probably Blackman High School. I don't see alot of the BIG bands though. We compete in East Tennessee alot so I see all those cats.
  2. Ok, all I've heard about on this forum is BIG bands that are good. Let talk about smaller 80 members or less that are good. The best in the state, in my opinion is Seymour High School band. They are always amazing. I'm in Smith County High School's band. I'm the lead trumpet player and I think we are as tight as it gets for a small band also. Toss up between us and Seymour. We are usually back in forth when we compete against each other. And Walker Valley...we beat them at the Foothills Classic back in October by 7 points. We were the highest scoring band of the day. We can hang with any band as long as you give us a chance.
