  1. GP will continue to be there year in and year out,....the # of athletes will continue to grow and they will eventually get to your level.....all the trash talk aside congrats to the Tornadoes on a remarkable run of 4 straight titles. And for the record the #1 team in 3A would have given you a much better game than GP, and I hate David Lipscomb.

  3. Alcoa population is only around 15-20 thousand people, im going off the last 2000 census info...so that does seem odd they have more athletes.......discipline, fundamentals, and execution are the keys to success at any high school program, Maryville is the benchmark for excellence in those departments
  4. Not hinting at recruiting by any means, both schools have great administrations and coaching staffs along with being very community oriented so im sure that has quite a bit to do with it, im sure Alcoa's stands were packed against DCA, I was embarassed by the turnout at the Goodpasture game last Friday, especially the student section, Peabody had more fans there which is sad....
  5. How does Maryville get all the talent up there?? Someone told me kids can pay extra to the school of their choice?? Is that true??
  6. GP fan here, ive seen the Cougars play 3 of their 4 playoff games and Im quite impressed with their speed this year, I dont think it will be enough to get by Alcoa they just have too much talent in my opinion. I will say this though, if Martin keeps getting the type of skill position players he has been getting the last two years and upgrades the defensive staff maybe we can close the gap sooner than later GP fans, after all we werent supposed to be in the Boro this year!! Too bad for Alcoa fans you will always be in Maryville's shadow in East Tennessee, maybe one of these years you can beat the Rebs and talk all your trash to them !! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  7. Not sure about this one, Goodpasture has alot of question marks this year after losing quite a few starters from last year, I just really dont see the Cougars pulling this one out against the 5-A runner up from last year.
  8. White House has great tradition, you shouldnt judge a program based on state championships alone. And how does Smyrna get no respect from anybody ?? Im sure Alcoa would walk all over Smyrna as well according to those rankings.
  9. Ill take Maynard up at Smith county, if you can turn Smith and Upperman into winners then thats an accomplishment...i believe he is a Rankineer, I dont think Rankin should count for this topic, one of the best ever in the state, but Riverdale and Alcoa are both talent hotbeds, id like to see him go somewhere that didnt have a stockpile of athletes. Just my thoughts...
  10. There is no use arguing with Blount County fans until someone knocks Alcoa, Fulton, and Maryville out of the drivers seat. I would agree with BC this past season Blount county owned the state, with that said 2007 is a whole new ball game.
  11. Congrats to Golden, he is one of the best Ive ever seen, I wish him the best.
  12. Will be a great game, id take White House due to their physical style of play. Alcoa d-line was soft against GP in the State title game, the Alcoa coaching staff had run alot of stunts to pinch the middle of the line because GP was averaging 10 yds a pop up the gut, with that said Alcoa killed GP with speed, I would suspect White House has alot more speed than GP. Too bad we have to wait a year for this matchup....
  13. Good to see Alcoa fans welcome a new challenge so graciously, you win 3 state titles with ease and then you moan and complain about new challenges, talk about spoiled
  14. Oh id be proud of my school if they had won three straight I never said, but it is just time for Alcoa to be beat in 2007 is all I was getting at, theyve had their run now let another team get there. But go ahead keep tooting your horns own fellas....youve earned it
