Greenbrier did lose alot of seniors last year. Greer at 6'10" and the other big post man Adams at 6'6" and then another 6'5" guy and a couple good guards, so i expect them to have a down year...but i understand gtqb's concern, u always want support for ur team...i think the support went down a little bit last year for GB from the year before that when GB had seniors like Kenton Coleman and Jeffrey Brant...although GB did win the district championship last year which was a big accomplishment but other than those couple weeks of the season, there werent as many fans as the year before...so it seems to be on the decline as the team seems to be losing more and more games each year...thats how GB seems to be, winning they have a lot of fans, losing they have fewer fans, but i just guess thats more incentive to win, and also thats how most places r i guess, more ppl are goin to show up and cheer for a winning team, of course i dont necessarily agree with that, there should be support through the good and bad, but thats beside the point....
However, there are still some good players there in Caton and Lynch and some younger guys like juniors Grogan, Donoho, and May and soph. Cory Elliott...so i think this team will still compete, i think white house and station camp will be the top in the district this year though, but GB will be ok....
And the middle school program is looking awesome...trevor thaxton and ryan morris in the 8th grade will be comin up to high school in a couple years and then the rhoten boys and craig bradshaw and the second greer comin through already at 6'2" i think the future is lookin bright for GB basketball, and keep in mind this group of the rhotens and bradshaw and greer and more have all been playin together since 4th grade against tough competition...
so hopefully til then GB can pick up the support a lil bit this year and the next few years and the team do pretty well, good luck to the seniors this year caton lynch and tavares and the rest of the team....
