Just to name a few... 10AA has 8 teams and uses the same format. 7AAA and 8AAA have 7 teams and uses a double bye for 1 and 2. 10AAA same format... I didn't look very long but I guess maybe coaches are looking for something different. Probably will eventually go back to the old way at some point. I think giving the byes makes the regular season mean something. College conferences do it. Why not try it in high school?

Smith County High School Booster Club is hosting their annual 5th/6th grade basketball tournament at Smith County High School and Smith County Middle School. Dates are 9/22-10/2. There is no entry fee and each team is guaranteed 3 games. $5.00 will be charged at the gate, and concession stand will be available. This is available to girls and boys teams. Battle of the birds goes to DA BIG OWLS! Good Luck to DA BIG OWLS Friday night. Looking forward to watching a good football game. Very good running game, to many weapons and options. Defense looking great as well. You don't go 10-0 without being well coached and doing something right. I don't buy into the whole schedule is weaker stuff, region is weaker but SC hasn't played down to the level of their region opponents. They have clearly dominated the region. On another note, I would like to see the SC-TC rivalry restored. Think it be good gates for both schools and a great game to watch! BIG OWLS - 28 firebirds - 10
