  1. Hey CDHS, glad to talk to you again. I don't think we need to go into the same conversation we had on another board. I would just like to congratulate you for your good showing this season and hopefully you will have better luck next year. For those of you that don't know, Chuckey Doak lost last night on their home floor to Elizabethton by 15. Say, didn't you say that they were terrible CDHS?
  2. When I heard this I was really surprised. I really thought that behind the play of Christopher Thomas Archbishop would win this game. Unfortunately I was unable to make the game, but congrats to Briarcrest, might have won the Ladies' Classic in Greeneville had they not got shafted by the refs in the last seconds.
  3. Is that game at Cocke County? Because if it is, I'm sure the refs will be more than happy to single-handedly extend Cocke County's winning streak (not to mention Greeneville has been playing awful basketball).
  4. Ahh...ok. I saw the three kids on the bench. I figured they were hurt or something. Without those three guys, (the elder Sampson especially I'm sure) that bunch isn't very good.
  5. I have just one question after watching the first round action. Why is the Northview team even up here? That is by far, the worst team I have ever seen at the tournament. They got flat out embarrassed by a decent (not bad, not great, pretty good) Science Hill team. I retract my previous statement about international invites vs. in-country if we can't bring in better than this.
  6. I agree that I would like to see some more in-country teams (or some highly talented from outside), but they do add flare to the tournament. Regardless of how good they are, if someone who doesn't know a whole lot about it sees a team from Germany in the Classic, they think, "Wow, I bet that would be interesting to see." I also agree that neither Tabernacle nor Urspring will probably win the tournament; however, Greeneville has to win a game just to get into the position to win a first round game. Personally I don't count the play-in as first round. I really don't know a whole lot about either the California team or the Urspring team (aside from what I saw last year) and I understand that someone has to have the play-in, I just don't agree with it being Greeneville. Actually to be honest, I don't know why they invited enough teams for it to be necessary to have two play-in games. If I remember correctly, there were no play-in games last year. Or did I just not pay attention because it wasn't my team that had to play in it? (regardless I don't like the play-in concept)
  7. I can't say that I have seen either team play, however, if I remember correctly from last year this team was highly athletic. I don't remember them being very disciplined but they were athletic. I wouldn't pass the Tabernacle team off. DCHS, are you serious? Greeneville got a good draw? Not to mention I'm using the term draw lightly (it's obvious the tournament directors try, and do a fine job, of getting Greeneville beat in the first round most years), but did you see the size that team has? I watched them last year, they weren't very good but they are huge. This year, Greeneville doesn't have Wiggins inside and if we happen to get by Urspring, we get the Cali team that has some serious talent from what is being said about them. They play the game for a reason, but under no circumstances did Greeneville get a good "draw".
  8. Give Jeff their due...they came out and played tremendous defense (especially in the first half). Yes, Greeneville missed free throws, committed unforced turnovers, etc., but the simple fact is this Greeneville team is not good enough to just show up and win - especially against a team that played as hard as Jeff did last night. I thought the effort displayed by Jeff was about as intense as I have seen. If they displayed that type of intensity on a nightly basis, the question would be how in the world did they lose 7 straight?
  9. JV Tounament in Bristol starts on Dec. 20th - does anyone know of a link to see the bracket? Thanks.
  10. Hey! Did you guys hear? Duncan signed 5 kids for next year!!! They all have jobs that his inside man opened for him. How great is that? I hear that three are over eight feet tall. You get real Kardz. You and everyone else that cries out recruiting every year are witch-hunting.
  11. No I read quite well thanks. Hey did you know that kardz is actually spelled "cards"? Apparently you should see Webster the wizard yourself. And you actually didn't state that you are from Greeneville until the comment right after my last one, which was not there when I was replying to you. Sorry, I'm not a mind-reader. On to hoopsgod, who I have decided to dignify with a response for some reason. Your cries of recruiting are really annoying. Allow me to explain here. Families move. Families have kids. Kids play basketball. Some kids can play high school basketball. Kids like to play for coaches who want to win. Do you understand, or should I break out the flow maps? And maybe Duncan prefers to coach the high school game. Once again I am not a mind-reader, why don't you go ask him? O wait, he's a terrible coach who recruits, who would want to talk to him?
  12. Hahahahahaha...this is good stuff. I was unaware that Kardzguy was from Cocke County. That being the case, I completely agree with the above statement. You can lose 10 to 15 points at Cocke County on officiating alone. Good thing Cocke County is horrible. Not only did Greeneville play their worst game of the season, but they are down this year. You on one hand, blame this on officiating. I blame it on the fact that your team is pathetic. I was under the impression that the ball was on fire every time your boys got it Kardz. And hoop"god", not only are those the trashiest posts I have ever seen in my life, they are completely incorrect. Bill is an excellent coach as Barb proved. Also, he doesn't recruit. The fact that guys come to play for him only proves the caliber of coach he is. So allow me to make a guess here. You are 16 years old and go to CC high school. Or are you just ignorant hoops? I bet you can guess. In fact, I doubt you were at the game.
  13. Hahaha "rich people". What a joke. Living in the city does not qualify you as "rich". And the majority of county people are not "hicks". However, you are putting on a great show of "grammer" on this thread. I guess you didn't take a "writting" class at CD. I am sure they have one, not all county residents have bad grammar either, but you didn't take it. By the way, could you provide a link to a reliable source that states that CD has the highest ACT, Gateway, and Writing scores. Once again, I am not slamming county people, I am just not sure about that statistic. Hey did you know that 73% of statistics are made up? I don't mind you beating the living crap out of the JV, I mind you leaving the starters in for the entire first half...it wasn't necessary. By the way, next post can we throw in some punctuation and capitalization. It makes the post easier to read, thanks.
  14. From what I understand, the JV was just filling in for Hampton, who were off watching their football team (who I believe won, congrats). I also understand that the JV had never even practiced all together and that your starting five didn't come out until after the first half when you were up about 20. Congratulations, you ran the score up on a JV team. Way to go, I love the sportsmanship. On a separate note, "SMALL CAPS" lol. That is pretty funny, what grade are you in again? And I hope they don't bother you, that is typically the accepted way to write.
  15. Thanks hustle, I was beginning to worry as CDHS's last post was deleted. Now I have to go look at barb's quote to respond. O wait, not even respectable enough to be responded to. How about a re-do CHDS?
