  1. There were 15 ties in the game. I believe UC's biggest lead was 5. So they didn't lead the whole game. Lake County beat UC by 3 points. Dyer Co. beat them by 13 and 4 respectively. So using your logic; That tells me DC is a better team than Lake Co. Humboldt beat Lake Co. What does that tell you? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Humboldt and Dyer County are the only undefeated teams left in the state. Really no way to determine whose better unless they play.
  2. Legend is still studdering and sputtering all over his keyboard. I've only been on this board for 7 years, but you Sir, have made my all-time top 5 replies. Well Done! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  4. You are right. I just checked the Marshall Co and Fulton Co. schedule on the KHSAA site. Marshall is in Panama City, Fulton in Martin this weekend. Sorry for the confusion
  5. You may be right. I haven't seen anything yet in print about the tournament. I was going from memory of a quick mention on the radio a couple of weeks ago. Thats why I'd like someone to post the bracket. I called the school (Westview) twice last week and asked them to fax a schedule. Each time they said the would. No luck. Maybe someone will have the info and share.
  6. Dyer County was crowned the Arbys/KFC Classic Champion with an 80-59 victory over host McCreary Co. tonight. Rex Pierce was tournament MVP. CJ Crittenden, Cedric Jaynes, and Fred Yarborugh were also selected to the all-tournament team. Dyer County tries to extend it's sweep of Kentucky teams Saturday Dec 27th. They will face Marshall Co. in the 1st round of the Lions Club Christmas Tournament at Martin Westview. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30. Congratulations Choctaws! Does anyone have the brackets for the rest of the field? If so please post. Thanks
  7. I heard this was the best team they've faced all year. Choctaws trailed by 3 at the half and by as much as 6 midway thru the 3rd. DC kept throwing bodies at them and finally wore them down in the fourth. Oh yeah, that guy Rex Pierce, he hit 6 of 7 free throws down the stretch to cement the victory. Don't know the other team in the finals, should hear more tomorrow. GO CHOCTAWS Looks like the finals matchup will be with the tournament hosts McCreary Central
  8. 12/20/08 Dyer Co dismantled Monticello 89-37. Starters played less than 12 minutes total. Rex Pierce led all scorers with 27, 19 in the first half. 12/21/08 Dyer Co defeats Russelville (5-1) 81-66. Rex Pierce is having an all-tounament showing with 34 pts. 12/22/08 Dyer Co (10-0) goes up against the largest High School in KY; Henderson Co (7-0). Enrollment 2000+. This will be DC's toughest test of the season (so far). If they win this one, 10 hours later they'll play for the championship. More details as they become available. GO CHOCTAWS.
  9. "Hype" owned the boards tonight. Double-Double. Game was 19-9 at the end of the 1st period, close as it ever got. Final score 92-60. CJ made some awesome plays tonight, both in assists and scoring. Fred led the Chocs with 19. Ced had 12 and CJ 14. I think Rex was in double fiqures also. All the Choctaws had played before the end of the first half. I think at least 12 of them scored. Big dominating district win.
  10. Dyer Co. 74 Crockett So. 37 It was over after first 3-4 minutes. Ced had a double double with 3 minutes left in the 1st half.
  11. I know this game is scheduled for 8:00 on Saturday as part of the Westview classic. Does anyone have times and teams for the rest of the games? I imagine Westview is in it but, who esle? What are your thoughts on this matchup of the greyhounds? DC has lost 4 starters and 80% of the scoring to graduation. What has UC lost (besides MJ)? Who takes this game? I think DC's 2nd and 3rd five are the difference, throw in a true center/post game and DC wins by 10. I call the over/under on combined score at 175. No disrespect to Ripley, but man I'm getting excited about this game!
  12. Dyer Co. wins 88-47. Choctaws started the game 12-1 and never really looked back. The Choctaws did have an injured player leave the game. If anyone has an update on DJ Adams I would appreciate it.
  13. What I HEARD: Ced took an elbow and a few stitiches on his eyebrow the night before in Memphis. What I SAW: Ced started with a bandage over his eye. When he missed the dunk, his forehead hit the floor hard enough to knock the bandage off. What I THINK: After hitting his head on the floor, he kept checking his cut to see if it was opened back up.
  14. All 15 players saw action. There was a lot of different combinations on the floor and sometimes they weren't all in sync. EVERYONE played tough defense. Choctaws still managed to win by 10. So tell me Bulldawg, Who looked better?
  15. Brighton beat Halls - easily Dyer Co beat Munford -easily After falling behind by 10 or so Dyersburg comes back agianst Lake County to win by 3 (I think) I was at the concession stand. Millington and Westview looked the best of the womens' teams tonight. I enjoyed watching your team tonight, So much so, I even stopped by and told you about it at the top of the bleachers, I was the guy in the orange DC shirt. Anyway best of luck this season, Hope we see ya'll when we join your region next year.
  16. First report from todays scrimmage.(2nd hand) DC played everyone and won by 6. Had numerous steals and swarming defense looked liked last years. CJ and Rex already looked at mid-season form. The freshmen looked like well, freshmen. Big Ced was hampered by quick fouls. Stand out performers in the game: John Roberts- by far the number one center, drastically improved over last year. Has defintely been working out with someone who knows how to play the post over the summer. John Hudson - Fast, strong, ran the floor with the rest of the Choctaws, played high intensity defense hit at least 2 NBA threes(only lines on the floor). Beautiful shot. Impressive performance for DC's first scrimmage of the season. I'll get my first look tomorrow at the Dyersburg jamboree.
  17. Friday Nov 14th at 2:30. Tickets are $20.00 on sale at Dyer County High School. Grizzlies play the Bucks at 7 later that night. Came up too quick for me to get out of work in time to make the trip. I hope we send a ton of Orange to Memphis.
  18. It's been a couple of days, any word on who might be on their short list?
  19. What will be different about this year's game? Congratulations to DC's starting five being selected to the Region 7AA all tournament team! And Justin Blake the 13AA District, 13AA Tournament, and Region 7AA MVP. Kudos to Haywood's Ricky Taylor what an outstanding performance tonight. Also to the fans of both teams, great support and sportmanship all night! You guys were terrific hosts. Best of luck against Mitchell, may your tournament run be long.
  20. Bump I flipped thru 3 Memphis station's sports casts, not a mention
  21. Dyer Co wins 107-83 Haywood Co wins 56-44 Anyone know what happened in 8AA?
  22. Were you shocked by the the way Dyer Co. man-handled Covinton? 107-83 I bet the Chargers were wondering where the team was that they battled to a 2 point lose earlier in the year.
  23. Dyer County's bench production has improved greatly since that early game. The first 3 or 4 off the bench now flow smoothly into the game.
