  1. We've got the talent and ability to make it back to state if we don't get beat to death in regions like we did against Gp. I thought we was wathing the Seymour game at a different location. I saw and heard parents yelling that never have before. Stay tough girls and show them what this RHS team has. Watching and waiting for the BIg Blue to roll towards Murfreesboro. Good Luck to the girls and coaches. Good job to Kasey, Kendal and Katie for making all didtrict team.
  2. I agree with ya'll also Union County came to play, and Roach was definately on Friday night. Brabson and Crews did have their moments and maybe some of the others might have had their moments to if they had been given a chance by some of the other girls passing it around instead of trying to do it on their own. the last time I checked there is no I in team. I'm like you I dont know what's going on behind the scenes bit IT does need to be taken care of by the Coaching staff. I also heard about the bet that had been made for that game but this is not the first game a bet has been made in, there was a bet made Tuesday night between the same two players that you mentioned at the Cumberland Gap game. I think Coach Raoch and Coach Combs needs to take care of this issue and tell their players to stop with this bet making because it's going to end up costing both teams the ball games like it almost did Friday night against Union County. I think its ridiculous they're making bets to begin with. This is the first game I've either heard about or seen all season that they really didn't play like a team, and some of the girls visibly showed how upset they were. But from watching the game I would bet the girls were upset that they were playing on a one woman team. Brabson usally takes alot of shots and most of time she hits them, but when your obviously not hitting them then you need to look for the open players. I know on more than one occasion she would take a crazy shot and miss it with Stratton, Crews, Acuff, or Waldroup wide open waiting for the chance to shoot the ball. But I guess as long as this bet continues to go on it will continue to be a one woman team game instead of a TEAM game. Maybe the score would have been way different if they would step up and play like a team. Like I said earlier, THERE IS NO I IN TEAM!!! Stop the foolishness girls and lets win the rest of these games as a team. GO LADY PIONEERS BEAT G-P!
  3. Maybe whoever sends in the other sports doesn't think basketball is important enough to send those stats in. Does anyone know who sends in the stats to caoch t because they seem to be way off in the total score column for each girl. I believe the stats for the girls who don't play much may be correct, but for the ones who do play significant minutes their point totals seem to be alot lower than they should be. I thought they were off so I added up the total points scored from each game and then added up the totals it has for the girls and it was way off. So somebody isn't keeping it updated right.
  4. I agree, they should leave it Pioneers and blue and white. With the new colors we'll look like Gators not Grizzlies. Ha Ha!!! On a different note, can anyone tell me why Rutledge does not report it's basketball stats to PREP XTRA like the football team did? I think we have alot of boys and girls who deserve the recognition.
  5. Your right, Crews really did step it up down the stretch and Johnson, Stratton, and Edde did handle the pressure after Roach fouled out. As for Acuff, she is right now physically weaker than most Jr/Sr post players because don't know if ya know but she is still trying to bounce back from knee surgery done in October. I know that's been almost 3 months ago but these are not the type things that your back to full speed the next day, even though she is way ahead of where many expected her to be. As for what I here some saying around the games, she has been ready to play at high school for quite awhile. But the sad truth is that after breaking her middle school record, maybe us die-hard Rutledge fans have expected her to play through this injury like she played through her middle school injuries, but I guess if I had suffered an injury that required surgery I wouldn't be back to the top of my game either. I believe your are right she will be stronger next year after fully recovering from her knee surgery and switching AAU teams. So yes I believe Acuff will be a whole lot stronger come next year, and she may even start coming into her own before season is said and done, but she is only one player on a team of talented young ladies that are working together to reach their goals. The Lady Pioneers are a talented, hard-working team that does have better chemistry than past teams. GO BIG BLUE!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I have to agree with agitator53, Brabson did show alot of class Tuesday night against Seymour especially after what she went through in the Gibbs game. She should have never been ejected from this weeks games because technically she did nothing wrong. i heard the reason she was ejected was because she drew her fist back to punch the Gibbs player wwhich is totally incorrect. All she done was push the Gibbs player because she wouldn't let her jersey go while they were coming down the floor. This however should have not even made it to the point of where they could come to blows with each other. The referees should have done something about the Gibbs player during the game when she kept running her mouth to Brabson trying to stir up trouble, but the refs never could get a handle ion the girls which led to the problem. I believe Brabson is their most experienced post players, but they also have good post players in Acuff, Crews, and Waldroup. But for some reason they want to take spurts on stepping up and playing to their full potentials. Acuff especially needs to step up. I know she's just a freshman but at 6'2" and playing against teams that are shorter she should be hard to stop in the post area just like she was during middle school ball. I know there's a big difference between high school ball and middle school ball, but if you can play ball like most people know she can then that shouldn't make a difference. She just needs to step up and play ball like she knows how to play ball and quit playing timid. Take it to them in the post area. If Acuff and Crews would play like they know how every game just think how awesome the team would be with Acuff, Brabson, and Crews playing at the top of their games every game. I don't think anyone would be able to touch Rutledge with them and Roach, Stratton, and Johnson on the outside. I'm just gald that Crews decided to be the one to step up aginst Seymour in the fourth quarter with Brabson out and Acuff on the bench with four stupid fouls she comitted. Had it not been for Crews in the fourth quarter the Lady Pioneers would've been sending the Lady Eagles back to Seymour with a win. Go Lady Pioneers!!!!!!!!
  7. Agitator Jr, you're right this game was way different than the last one with Seymour. If you ask me they got a little taste of their own medicine in our house. It was great seeing them in foul trouble because now they know what we felt like at their house. I also noticed that their coaches, players, and fans wasn't complaining near as much as we were at Seymour because I think they knew exactly what was going on. I not saying I like seeing referees give stupid calls to players whether on Rutledge's team or not, I just think they really got what they should've got because of the way we were treated by the referees at their house.
  8. West and Middle TN has alot of talent but what about good ole East TN. What are some of the takes on Freshmen in East Tn? I think it's sad on the coachT website that they only have the prospects through 2009 what about all the prospects in 2010. Where does the girl who's 6'8" play at? She must not play AAU as i've never seen anyone in this age group that tall unless they was from another state and still none was that tall. Has she grown alot over the summer or has her height been listed wrong ?
  9. Well Stone Memorial rolled over the Pioneers 71-45....sad...sad....sad. The big blue should of got the hint these girls were 3 point shooters oh after the 10th 3 pointer. Sorry to be negative but RHS girls turned the ball over way to much and well the rebounding was non-existent. Coach R needs to step back and look at which 5 needs to be on the court together and some needs to ride the pine more than they do. # 11 had about 4 turnovers in a row within the first 2 or 3 minutes in the game and #4 threw in a couple more turnovers, and then you add in # 23, # 32 and # 53 not knowing what a rebound is....... today # 5 was the only consistant player on the floor for RHS. I almost thought Larry. Moe and Curly had escaped from Seymour and was posing as refs. Hopefully with some changes RHS can pull out wins against Washburn and Grace Christian.
  10. orbit4213 i agree totally she is the dirtiest player i've seen in years but the sad part is she's a good player but her antics over power that. I can't see many colleges wanting a player like that unless it's "Meano Geno" but hey i hear UConn likes their apple bad.......agitator53 man you've got me going redneck....can i join your carpool... oh ya i think the refs should be named Dumb, Dumbier and Dumbest. yee haw.
  11. Boxout your correct Acuff is a good player who's potential is finally being utilized by Coach Roach who is the only coach that sees her all around potential. If needed she can play inside or out and that has been seen this year by the 3's she's pulled up when needed in the last minute crunch. I did hear she is recovering from knee surgery and still isn't back to full speed but when she is full speed i think the opposing teams will feel her presence. Rumor has it that she is moving AAU teams can anyone confirm or deny that? Just curious who she played previously for and where she's going so i can watch her contiinue to grow during the summer. Acuff is only one of a very talented high school team.....GO Big Blue. FYI: i'd say after seeing her up close she is 6'2" she almost towers her coach.
