Fake News! I was at the game. Greeneville led 28-0 at half. Grainger had a time consuming drive that ate up almost 9 minutes of the 2nd quarter but did not result in points. Greeneville went up by 35-0 about 4 minutes into the 3rd quarter. Grainger chewed up more time with a couple of drives but again no points. Greeneville scored their last points on a pass from Ballard to Goddard with 8 minutes left in the game to make it 42-0. They did play their 2nd string from that point on but it certainly wasn't a lot. Grainger was unable to slow Greeneville's offense but was able to control the ball some and keep them off the field.

Totally agree! It is beyond ridiculous! The Tri Cities papers do a much better job of coverings High School Hoops. The Knox News Sentinel is a joke! They act like they are doing you a favor just to take your box score!

Grainger doesn't have to get by Elizabethton. A top 2 finish in the region is all they need to advance to sectionals. They would not have to play Elizabethton in Sectionals.

The Tournament was originally scheduled to be played at Happy Valley. Somehow it ended up at Elizabethton. Not sure how that happened. Im sure I will be enlightened on it though. Th e Regional should be played at a Neutral Site. Elizabethton has not had to board a bus one time since the District Tournament started. That is not their fault. Anyone would take that deal if they could get it. Make no mistake though, getting to play at home is a huge advantage.That is how it is set up at this time. Hopefully we get our chance to be host next year. I'm sure you will enjoy our facility and the ride. As far as how Grainger fans reacted, I can not comment. I left with :30 seconds to go. It is a long ride and I need my beauty sleep! Congrats again to the Lady Cyclones. They played well and deserved the win. Hope to see you again next year!

Sorry I upset you there Sparky. You did not hear the comments yourself, so that is hearsay. That is why I said supposedly. You were the one praising your facility. Just thought I would point out its inadequacies. I stand by those. Chair backs are a nice touch, but no big deal. Sight lines from up top are not very good. Bench seating for the teams looks to be lousy also. Facts are facts and the truth hurts. I gave your team credit. They outplayed Grainger. That truth hurts as well. Have a Great Day. I will.

D1 hosted 2 years ago at Sullivan North. Elizabethton gym is barely adequate to host a Regional. Bleacher seats are horrible. Can't see the action under the goal on the end the bleachers are on. Only 2 dressing rooms that are in the gym. Some teams must dress in rooms by a swimming pool that are used by the swim team and are not well maintained. Not nearly enough restroom facilities available either. The Grainger Facility is far nicer in every aspect(not just presumably so).I don't know about the comment that was supposedly made. If true, it was out of line. Yes the old gym at Rutledge was small, but they don't play there anymore Grainger should have the opportunity to host the Regionals and hopefully that will happen soon. It is not a one way street the distance is the same in both directions. Hats off to Elizabethton they played Great and deserved the win. Surely they would not be opposed to playing the Regionals on the home floor of anither good team would they? I didn't think so.

Coach? C19. Grainger is in AA because that is where their enrollment says they should be. They do not have to make it in AAA or A. Sorry that you are not impressed with Grainger. They have beaten your AAA team twice though.

Grainger will be fine. Not sure about those early predictions. They lost 4 starters from last season. Young team. Young teams are inconsistent from game to game and sometimes during the same game. Their young guys are talented, just need experience. They have some really close losses. It's Greenevilles to lose. Gap is second IMO.
