How good is PJP II compared to the other d-2 middle region squads? Can pope reach the state?

Wasn't Dyer County in the state and really good back in the early 2000s? How many times has Dyer County been to the state tournament?

You might want to state that as Region 4A, not District 7A. It has been a District 7A sweep the last two years (and that is the better district), but it hasn't been long since a District 8A team was one of those two moving on to Murfreesboro. Westmoreland has been to the state a couple of times in the last five years or so, and Friendship Christian went two straight years. Gordonsville's been two or three times too, though it's been a while (back in the Armistead era). In fact, I remember one year not too long ago (4 or 5 years) where I had to sit there and watch the District 8A teams playing each other in the region final. I believe it was Westmoreland and Friendship. So, we can't overlook District 8A.

7-A came through, as is most often the case, but 8-A might be a lot tougher than we at first thought. Westmoreland played Clarkrange much tougher than Red Boiling Springs. Gordonsville was tough too. Clarkrange beats Jackson County on Wednesday. How many seniors does RBS lose? Rich is a big lose. She's tough.

How good is McMinn Central? Is this squad as good as last year's team? Is Brown still there? What about Nicolo, Derrick and Gallaher - are they still there?

Did Gregory play tonight for Macon County? She didn't score, which is why I was wondering.

what makes richland a powerhouse? when's the last time they've even been to a state tournament?

What about the Adkins girl? Is she the next best offensive threat? Apparently, she must shoot the three ball very well. Does she need time to get it off, or does she have a pretty quick release? And is she a point guard or a shooting guard? Does Monterey have any other threats? I look forward to a good consolation game and region tournament.

7-A is obviously quite good this season. I would not sell 8-A so short. It's happened in the past and burned them a few times. Friendship Christian made the state in back-to-back seasons, 2002 and 2003. In that 2003 season, Westmoreland joined them in the state and went again in 2005. Gordonsville has state experience as well, though it's been a little longer since they've gone. The gap may not be as big between the big three in 7-A and the top two in 8-A as it seems, though the 7A teams will be favorites. Good luck to all the 7-A squads.

I've heard how good she is, but I know nothing about her. So, what is Molly Heady like? Is she a post player or a perimeter player? Is she versatile? Can she shoot it from the perimeter, take you off the dribble and post up with her back to the basket? What are the players around her like? Does Monterey have any big girls? Does Monterey have good ballhandlers?

I did a little research via the Tennessean web site on the Jones girl from Westmoreland. She has led her team in scoring in all but four games (tying for the team lead three of those times). She has scored 20-plus five times and 15-plus 13 times. She has failed to reach double figures twice, both times finishing with nine points. She can shoot and take people off the drive. That only tells the scoring tale, but she's a very talented 1A basketball player. She should be considered.

the jones girl from westmoreland should get some consideration.. i saw where she scored 26 last night in their win over gordonsville. if i looked at the scores right then westmoreland should win that district now. i've seen her play a couple times. she carries that team offensively. she's hard to guard.
