  1. Well, I really thought our boys were going to pull that one out on Friday but just didn't happen. I hate it for these seniors to graduate without a single winning season. That is just sad. Oh well, now is time to start looking forward to a new day for Bledsoe Football.
  2. I am done with this thread with one last thing. I am thankful that we now have a school board with enough people on it that have committed to do what needs to be done for the kids in our county instead of just keeping sitting around and letting our kids lose at everything. I will be in the stands Friday night as always cheering for our boys and there is no one in Bledsoe County that wants to watch our seniors win their last game more than I do. But, if people don't get the job done, there will be consequences and again I'm proud of the board for the commitment they have made.
  3. I just keep laughing about the way people that have NOTHING to do with Bledsoe County or our kids keep saying we just don't have any players, and can't compete with other area schools. I wish Dunlap would have thought that instead of getting a new coach and turning their program around. Look where they were just 3 years ago. It's not been long ago that Marion was losing and what did they do? Does anyone remember what Rhea county's record was the last year of their last coach and who was his Offensive coordinator? What about Meigs? The numbers just don't lie. I'm not saying that coaching is everything because we all know they have to have community support and a strong administration to support them as well, but if you look at the programs in our area that are winning and doing very well and look at these same programs just a few years ago, you can easily see that they all have one thing in common. Having said that, I will again say I am hoping for a win this week and really would like to see these seniors go out on a positive note. These boys have not had a single winning high school season so I sure would like to see them win this last one.
  4. I really like the way people that don't live in our County, don't help support our sports programs or have kids in our program keep telling us that we are losing because our kids have no talent. That's pretty smart of folks that want to keep beating us.
  5. I talked to folks again this morning and if we don't win, changes will take place. Some are hoping that will happen, but I would sure like for our boys to get a win this week and end this season on a positive note.
  6. This game will have a major impact on the future of our program and can have no impact on Meigs' playoff picture or their season at all. Any predictions?
  7. If they're not getting the job done why would anyone think they have earned their spot. The younger kids can't do worse, so why wouldn't someone start building the future of the program? I have watched our Warriors through the good, bad, and ugly. I saw Sargeant bring the option to the valley, was in Sweetwater when the lights went out, at Meigs when the field goal was missed, at Loudon when we fumbled it away after the blocked punt, at Lipscomb when we played them off their feet, at home when the short kick-off set up Sequatchie's go a ahead score in the playoffs and many, many more and I will be here pulling for our boys every Friday night long after this bunch is gone. So, I don't guess I'm too concerned about a few kids not getting to play, and lose, in their last game or two because their are many many more kids to be considered and I don't want to keep hearing about how well things are going for the kids that have left. I want to hear how things are going for OUR kids right here in Bledsoe.
  8. Well it doesn't matter much now and this probably should be a new thread but I wonder why this staff doesn't go ahead and start playing some of the younger players and try to prepare for the future. There are a couple of young backs that have the potential to be playmakers and I don't see why they're not getting to play. I think if it was my job on the line, I would like to at least have the argument that I was trying to build a program and maybe try to mend a fence or two in the process. I don't think it would help with the kids that won't be here next year if changes don't happen but it might help the future of our program.
  9. Well, I guess it's time to look at the bright side to this loss. We are one loss away from getting someone that actually cares about Bledsoe County and wants to live and work here. I have talked to more than one board member and if we don't win out, changes are going to happen. We have a chance to win this week but I don't see us beating Meigs. Also, mark this down if these board members don't hold to their word, I am positive of at least 4 players that WILL NOT be playing here next year.
  10. This will be another L for sure for our boys in blue. BUT, I have talked to board members and was told again just this morning that if we don't win 2 of the next 3 we will get a new coach. We have talent, speed, and we have some kids that have won all their lives coming up. We all know who wants the job and we all know that we are not going to win 2 of the next three. So....I for one am already looking forward to the future of Bledsoe football.
  11. I was pleased to see our boys hang in there and keep fighting this past Friday. We had a chance to win that one but just didn't get it done. However, as far as the playoff picture, that game meant nothing to either team. It's just bragging rights so we have to simply let that one go. This week is a different story. If we are to have a real shot at the playoffs and a real shot at getting past the first round, we can't afford to lose this game. In reality, this week will determine whether we are even above .500 for the year. With the talent this group of seniors and juniors have, I hate to think about ending up with another losing season but I just don't see how we can avoid that if we lose this week. With all that said and all that is at stake, I'm going with our boys 24-20. Go Big Blue!
  12. Well now do our boys build off the emotional high on Friday night against Whitwell or do we let Polk pick up another W? Regardless of what anyone says (including me) about the quality of the two teams on the field on Friday, our boys did what they had to do to pick up the win. That really is a start. Now, should we even have a close game against Whitwell, absolutely not, but at least we did get our first win of the season and you've got to take that as a positive. This should be another winnable game for our boys in blue. What does everyone think?
  13. I have no need to sit down with anyone. At the end of the year with record will speak for itself. I hope it is better than I am afraid it will be. I really think we will win 2 or 3 games and that is all. That is not and should not be acceptable to anyone. If your job is to coach and you don't win more than you lose, you are not doing what you are getting paid for. That is the plain simple truth whether anyone likes it or not.
  14. We are almost there and I don't blame you one bit! Maybe if not only fans stop coming but if kids keep leaving a real change might happen. Just look at the number of Bledsoe County kids that are playing for other teams in our area. And it's all because we are not even competitive. Like it or not, that's coaching. It wasn't long ago that Marion was losing, they got rid of their coach and are now winning, Dunlap was losing and got rid of some coaches and are now winning, Rhea just a few years ago only won 1 game and now look at them under a new coach. Bledsoe County has won at times and the youth program has won many championships over the years. It comes down to one word, COACHING!
  15. Change could to will and you will have it! If we don't beat Whitwell, we won't win a single game. As it is, I think our best hope is 2-8. I still can't figure out why in the world we would hire someone that spent 2 seasons running Rhea County's offense and won 3 games. Just look what Rhea has done since they got rid of him running their offense and what he is doing for us. We just lost to SILVERDALE and I thought it was much worse than the score. We have talented athletes and it's not fair for our kids to be getting beat like they are just because of the coach who doesn't even care enough about Bledsoe County to live here. I will stop my ranting now and will be in the stands this Friday just like I am every single week watching our boys and cheering them on.
