  10. Unfortunately I no longer have the ability to edit or delete a post after it's submitted. Can't figure out why?? I don't know when the process begins. Think it is on going. From their document it states: "Many rising seniors make this list based on an excellent junior year or for having an outstanding summer participating in summer camps and AAU tournaments." Sports America, Inc. probably begins working on the list for the next year at the end of the All American Game in order to provide the list to the committee by the end of December. Candace Parker is on the Advisory Council.
  11. Red Boiling Springs defeated Friendship in Dist 8 for the Championship. I think they should be 8#1 and Friendship should be 8#2.
  12. Information on the McDonald's All American Games including detail document on the selection process can be found at: http://www.mcdonaldsallamerican.com/# The game will be played in Columbus Ohio on March 31 at 5:30 PM ET. Not sure if it will be televised. Summary of Selection Process: Initial list is gathered by Sports America, Inc. from Selection Committee and state representatives. Traditionally, the final total is between 900 and 1,200 for girls. Player's high school is contacted to confirm eligible senior in good academic standing. Voting process involves Selection Committee, comprised of the nation's most knowledgeable high school analysts, prep scouts, high school newspaper reporters and prestigious basketball coaches. The Selection Committee is chaired by Coach Morgan Wootten of DeMatha High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. Coach Wootten has over 1,200 career victories and has won five national high school championships. Round One - The first list is compiled by the staff of Sports America, Inc. at the end of December and sent to Selection Committee for review. List usually grows to nearly 150 names of the top players in the country. Round Two - The second ballot, with those 150 or so names, is sent to the Selection Committee in January, asking members to vote for the 50 most deserving players from the alphabetized list . In mid-January, the votes are tallied and the Top 100 vote getters are considered McDonald’s All American Finalists for that year. Round Three - The third ballot consists of the top 50 finalists from the previous vote and is sent to the Selection Committee near the end of January. Once again, the committee reviews the ballot and this time they vote on the top 30 players. Round Four - 23 Committee members select the final individuals to play in the game. On or around Feb. 15, Chairman Morgan Wooten reviews and approves names chosen by the Selection Committee and notifies each player that she has been named to the McDonald’s All American High School Basketball Team and selected to play in the McDonald’s All American Game.
