  1. Two others mentioned. That would make 9 recruits. Are they counting on some of these dropping out?
  2. Just wondering?? What are the rules on when an athlete can sign for bball?
  3. Coach Sytia Messer had named two assistants to her staff. Dee Bell, 34, most recently head coach for Martin Methodist and formerly with Maryville College and Reinhardt College, has some pretty impressive stats. Bett Shelby, 26, most recently with Stetson as assistant coach/recruiting coordinator and formerly with East Carolina Univ. has a proven record as a recruiter. Coach Messer is still looking for 3rd assistant and hopes to have that position filled by Oct. 16th, when official practice begins. This info from the Sept. 25th edition of the Herald Citizen.
  4. I would say she keeps Misty. Misty played at TTU and can help her out with the transition to TTU and also help out with the High school coaches. Misty is listed on the TTU website as an assistant coach. Understand Messer is looking for a 3rd assistant. Misty will pursue other opportunities. Two assistants named in Herald Citizen printed edition today. Can't remember the names and don't currently have the paper.
  5. Wow..............I beleive some teams will surprize people this year. You never know til you play the game. I think you are correct. With these teams it could be surprise about any night. I've just not heard too much about some of the teams this year and was interested in how folks thought it would go.
  6. OK. It's too quite for region 4. Let's generate some excitement for the coming season. What are your thoughts? My very early picks (not knowing a lot) District 7 1..... Clarkrange ....................... Battle between CR and JC for 1. (CR by a hair) 2..... Jackson County (Gainesboro) 3/4.. Pickett County (Byrdstown).... Toss up on Pickett/Clay. Think Pickett with be 3rd. 3/4.. Clay County (Celina) 5..... Monterey District 8 (I'm pretty clueless about Dist. 8) 1... Red Boiling Springs 2... Friendship Christian (Lebanon) 3... Gordonsville 4... Watertown 5... Trousdale County (Hartsville) Predict Region 4 state bound teams will both be from District 7.
  7. To name a few: Joe Jackson - White Station (Memphis) Casey Prather - North Side (Jackson) Tarik Black - Rigeway (Memphis) Michael Bradley - Tyner (Chattanooga) Austin Hollis - Germantown Tim Peete - Central (Memphis) Jalen Steele - Fulton (Knoxville) Jezrell DeJesus - Gatlinburg Pittman
  8. Understand there are several MAJOR conferences after him with offers.

  10. Was at the press conference. I was very favorably impressed. She seems pretty smart and said the right things, at least today. Very energetic.
  11. Thanks. Looks like Cookeville may have an easier task than previous years in district at least. Going to take some adjustment to think of the new classifications. Went to TSSAA page and printed out the classification list. http://www.tssaa.org/
  12. According to HC, the screening process has started. 60 to 70 applicants. Hope to have someone hired by Aug 31.
  13. Finished 4th in district losing to Clay by 1 point. Beat Jackson Co in the region.
  14. 4th in district 7A is not bad, but I agree. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  15. There were players on the TWSA all-state team that never came close to making in to the state tournament. I agree that this ranking does not include all the best players. I'm sure the players that are on the list are good and should be congratulated for making the list but it certainly is not complete or necessarily in the proper ranking.
  16. Facts a little off. MVP for Single A for 2008-2009 was Tasha Phillips of Clarkrange. She graduated and will be playing for Carson-Newman.
  17. Clarkrange is not quite the team they were last year. If they don't gel well, Pickett, Jackson, or even Clay could possibly beat them if they are playing well. District 7A could be a very exciting district to watch. Go Lady Buffaloes!
  18. Saw them play last night. They are very good. Athletic, fast, very aggressive. Beat Clarkrange by a significant amount. Clarkrange was only playing at TTU on 13th. They are in Shelbyville this week.
  19. Fentress county freshman.
  20. Think, Clarkrange, Livingston and Cookeville are participating. Not sure of any others. Clarkrange plays tonight at 5, 7 and 8. 5 and 7 are at CHS and 8 is at TTU fitness center. Think they play Cookeville at 8.
  21. Article in the Cookeville Herald Citizen today, April 10th: http://www.herald-citizen.com/index.cfm?ev...74E52588EF3315D
  22. Congratulations District 7 Single A - 9 of 15. Great job. Clarkrange Lady Buffaloes: Kelli Reed, Tasha Phllips, Hanna Green, and Molly Heady. Jackson Co.: Laken Leonard Pickett Co.: Kayla Gibson, Brinttany Garrett, and Terrah Garner Red Boiling: Lacy Colter
