  1. Now, most of us know that Wartburg team you scrimmaged last spring wasn't half the team that you played the year before that, that is probably where the difference was. As far as the lifting weights goes, it can help, but it don't matter if you can lift a car if you do not know who to block or how to block or are out of position to make plays., and that is fact. So then if this is the start of the 3RD year some of these guys have been working out then how many 300 LB bench pressers do you have. I hope 5. I sure am glad you finally answered the question about why the weights were purchased first. THANKS. No, I haven't been down there in several years, I felt like I was intruding when I went so I haven't had the urge to consider going back until now.
  2. No, I did not say lifting weights was not important, It can help, but it is RIDICULOUS to think that it takes 4 years to have an impact. All I said was why was the weight room and its problems not fixed before the weights were purchased.
  3. the key is greater good, If you really care about those kids see what they think
  4. These improvements in the bench press really showed up out there on the field when our poor technique was getting us knocked all over the field, but I almost forgot that it takes 4 years for these results to show a major impact.
  5. Oh yeah, do not limit yourself in who you ask about these guys helping out. I know for a fact that this is not true.
  6. Do you know any info on how the boys soccer team is looking
  7. If the fieldhouse was in such bad shape 3 yrs ago then there shouldn't have been so much money spent on the weights, the money should have been more evenly distributed and these repairs should have been taken care of first, then buy the weights. That was not an awful set of weights that they had any way, we could have kept those for a while and bought new benches for them to use with the older weights. I am curious how much was spent to update the weights, and what is the rate of return that we have got on those weights as far as wins.
  8. Yes, the fieldhouse is a problem but I am willing to bet that it did not have a factor on them going 2-8.
  9. Like I said before I support the new coach, but you want to take a huge step backward then allow those two guys back on the field. Not just my opinion but alot of other people's as well. There are alot of other ways they can help. I know most of you will brush this off as negative talk, and that is fine you folks should be using your time and energy that is spent on this website to go and fix the many problems down at the weight room.
  10. Well, it is good to here that things are starting to get taken care of. It is still early and a lot can still get accomplished before the end of school.
  11. What is the latest on all those repairs that are supposed to be taking place down at the fieldhouse. Is there much progress being made.
  12. That is easy for you to say. We know how things get dragged out around here. What have they been doing? I am sure this issue didn't just come up yesterday. The coach needs to be confirmed so he can start getting things in line. It is already February and if he has to wait for the next school board meeting it might be another month. Go Cheifs.
  13. You must have not totally read what I wrote I never questioned their efforts simply pointed out the results. If you watch those tapes from last year you will see that the O-line coaching was a weakness and needs to be a focus area for next season. If you and the few people that read this website want to see it continue to be a weakness then you have your opinion and I have mine. You will never convince me that I am the minority in my beliefs. You folks are the most easily offended people I have ever witnessed. I was just making observations from the games I watched last year. And about the time they put into it, if someone puts that much time into it results are expected. A 3-17 record can be put on them they were on the staff. I hope that McMinn County Gets their guy. I will go for now and let you guys get offended for me having an opinion and wanting to see things get better.
  14. How could of those seniors been starting over when this was the 2nd year of this system, and I believe that you two guys really cared for those kids, I am not doubting that at all, you can not put that much time into and not care about the kids. I care about the kids and am very excited about the new opportunity that is on its way. But a 3-17 record speaks for itself. And I hope you guys back away and let our new coach handle this. I am 100% behind our new coach and any new ideas that come on offense and defense and I welcome this change and can not wait until it is made official. GO CHIEFS
  15. Sounds like they were thinking too much, which was displayed out on the field, The O-line is not as difficult to learn as you make it sound a spring and a summer should have somebody ready to play and make an impact. but it is nice to know some of the things that they worked on and it sheds some light on the confused looks that I saw on Friday nights. Thanks
  16. Anything would be a start, how to fire off the ball and stick with a block, how to run a trap, which side of the defender to put your head on to make him have to go through their body to make a tackle, maybe some windsprints so they are not sucking wind midway through the first quarter, knowing to protect your inside gap on passing plays when a linebacker blitzes. These things may have been taught, but it did not show.
  17. We need somebody who can work on the offensive line fundamentals, defense, and fundamentals period.
  18. The sooner we can officially clean this house the better
  19. Way to go Dave screw up the football team and the other post
  20. Yes, it is definitely too early for predictions, but, there is hope and promise in the community once again.
  21. Are any of these kids still in school, I remember the game being played but do not remember when.
  22. I believe that he is the type of guy who can get our program headed in the right direction. And maybe we can all work together to build something special.
