I was not looking at 21 years, I thought they capped at 15 years? When I was there, few coaches had that many years and the coaching supplemental (incremental increase) wasn't much. The base pay for a head coach is still $6000. How many head football coaches in Williamson County have over 20 years experience?

Williamson County does not pay head coaches much money compared to other school systems. A head football coach in Williamson County earns $6,000. In Davidson it is a percentage of gross teacher pay (10%). Assistant coaches earn less. None of the TN counties you selected pay $70,000 per year! I have no doubt some booster clubs kick in extra money in some places but all of that would be on the books if they follow the TSSAA regulations. It is true that some Alabama schools pay $10,000 or more per year than TN schools.

Maybe after next year. There is a lot more to being a head coach than X's and O's or the love of the game.

There have been some strange hires these past two years. Young men with very little experience being hired over men with decades of experience. I guess it is becoming a young mans game or the powers that be simply want people they can control?

Dang, I should have applied there! The truth is things will get a lot worse for anyone coaching at any of the under performing schools in Jackson.

$1500 is not much for a head football coach. Yes, the two additional months of salary helps but most assistant coaches earn $2000+ in the district. Most band, head football and basketball coaches all earn the same supplement/stipend.

That will be difficult to replace. I don't know too many coaches with a science endorsement.

I can't see too many respectable coaches accepting the terms of employment in the county unless things have drastically changed in the past four years?
