  1. Mister Holloway, I did not realize the problem of buying uniforms without black on it.I will assure you it is not a "Vonore thing rearing it's ugly head."I only mentioned it because I was talking with one of the people who was on the committee to name the school and pick the colors and he related to me what I wrote about the colors.Trust me,He is not a Loudon fan and does not like us looking like them.I had not really noticed or cared until this conversation. As long as they are not wearing pink,it really didn't matter to me.These are the school colors, like it or not,and every effort should be made to keep it that way.I also married a Tornado alumnus, and if you knew me,you wouldn't accuse me of bringing it up for the reasons you think.I know most of the kids, and I want to see every one of them succeed, regardless where they are from!
  2. Could they not hire him as football coach and settle the rest later?I mean the good Lord knows we need something to celebrate along with the uncertainty ending for the boys.I'm just afraid they are going to drag this on to long.
  3. Still no news to report? This is all common knowledge.Been talked about on here for a while now.The story in 3 to 5 days wouldn't be about coaches Fulmer and Cutcliffe attending the Super Bowl would it?Sorry, but yeah,we already know.
  4. The first thing I would change is to get back to the original colors of the school in the uniforms. The original colors were red, yellow, and white. No black was present.Suddenly,we look like Loudon and are red and black. We need to get it right or change it one.
  5. Sorry to hear about John.Hope he gets well soon. What time is the school board meeting Thursday?Where do they have them now?We need a good show of support for Coach Summey so if anyone can go,they need to be there.I know he is planning to be there. It would be a good time to meet him if you never have.
  6. Just asking you both to drop it.I can understand defending yourself when shots are taken, and you both do it so well. You know we don't always agree but are still friends as far as I know. You certainly don't have to agree with me to post on here.I thought this was an opinion thread, and you know what they say about opinions, everybody's stinks but mine, right.C'mon, let the opinions roll but keep the personals personal, cool?
  7. The "dead horse" has reared again. We all know there is a history between you guys that will be very hard to bury. What profit is there in continually bringing it up.You both say move on but are not succesful.Let it go.MEN! A wise person told me "forgive but never forget" so I say that to you.We all agree there is work to be done, and a house divided cannot stand. All this is accomplishing is folks choosing sides and that won't help anything.Iwould really like to see you guys peacefully co-exist if possible or blissfully ignore each other if not possible. I know and like you both and would refuse to choose sides.BOTH of you want to see SEQUOYAH succeed. For everyone's sake, focus on that.
  8. Reporting more inaccurasies I suppose,or what you perceive as fact.I was afraid you were gone and the entertainment was over.Glad you are back,we need to walk on the lighter side. Were you the first to break the news when the Colts won or that Peyton was the MVP?! What time was that,8:00 A.M.?
  9. Ibelieve John is his daddy.Yes,I am well aware of coach D,and he would be one of the few who could inspire the excitement on the level it is now for me.Believe me, I would take him in a second.I thought he was happy at Red Bank.Still don't understand why he left Loudon when the talent level was rising.
  10. What does politics have to do with the statement that you replied to?I only meant don't judge the man if you have never met him.Trust me,I am certainly not politically connected.
  11. What could possibly lead you to believe Tim Daniels wasis interested?
  12. As I have posted before, you obviously have never met the man or you would share in the excitement.
  13. I completely agree.Help is on the way,and this dead horse is getting us nowhere.Look to the future,it's getting brighter by the day!Breakdowns were all over the field, and you can't totally blame the coaching for that. Were kids out of position, possibly.Let's just wait and see what happens in the future. We already know the past and no amount of analyzing is going to change it.While I certainly respect every opinion out there, enough is enough and let's ride a live horse for a change.
  14. There should NOT be anybody questioning the commitment or dedication these guys have shown.Personal or not,we should let the new coach decide if he needs their help or not.I appreciate both of these guys sacrificing when I know others would not have. That dedication of others will be tested in off-season workouts. That will tell the tale.
  15. I've been told this guy is needed. Will the booster club be able to help if needed?Everyone knows the salary in Monroe County is not exactly top-notch.If I understood correctly, this coach is an impressive individual.I know the folks who have met him are impressed.
  16. Without a doubt, changes are on the way. Will the commitment be there from the kids and parents?Time will tell. You can bet coach Summey knows of the year round work that is required.
  17. I completely believe that and your welcome. I would'nt put it in here if I didn't believe it.
  18. I absolutely believe you care about the kids.I absolutely believe you taught them correctly.Having coached with you before,I know the man and coach you are.I know well the work and endless hours and financing you put into Vonore Youth Sports.I think it would be wise to have a position for you on the new coaching staff, especially coordination of equipment and such.I know your attention to detail and think it should be a benefit our kids should'nt lose.I have no doubt you will be involved in some capacity, even if only pulling hard for our kids from the stands. Does MCHS practice year round?
  19. Doc, this is good stuff and you are absolutely right. Line play cannot be learned in a year.Continuity among players is a must and should start in middle school.I said it in an earlier post, and I say again, look at Blount and Knox county football. They have a middle school program and it shows.
  20. I'm guessing about the same as Maryville, some I-formation and Pro-set with motion and a little Wing-t mixed in. A lot depends on what he sees in the talent on hand. With smaller, quicker linemen, probably a lot of pulling and leadblocking from them. My guess is the offense will be quick hitting plays that set the defense up for three or four plays later. He has a knack for calling the right play at the right time. Look for the speed to be utilized and the taller targets on the outside with fade patterns and slants. He favors about a 60/40 split between the runand pass if the talent allows and I think it will.
  21. Agreed. If a thread needs to be trashed, go to another similar one.Don't know who new staff will be. Could still be part of old under new leadership,or completely new.Whatever it turns out to be,they still need support. I talked to a kid today on the team who met coach Summey and came away very impressed. I had not seen him this enthused in a while. He really had doubts about whether he still wanted to play until Sunday when he met coach. If there is any question whether coach can still motivate kids, if this one is any indication, he can. The boy said he wished the season started tomorrow and couldn't wait to get started practicing. Thought you might enjoy some early feedback. I mean, the kid was fired up!!!
  22. Man,definitely a knockout for Sid. So long,DL.Seems you have been put in your place, that's "down low" my friends.
  23. In this corner,Sequoyah Sid,fact"coach is not official until board meeting." In the other corner"DL?", FANTASY coach officially hired. Looks like a knockout for Sid!
