  1. Good luck to the Wildcats from Chief country. Wishes for a safe trip and a win!
  2. Good luck to the Chargers tonight from Chief country! An impressive win would be very nice! Keep up the good work!
  3. BTW,I am not trying to team up on anybody. Just giving my opinion same as you. Apparently, yours is the least popular. Just one question. What would you have done different on offense with this group? Defensively,I thought coach Summey made it very clear after Friday nights game that would be a major focal point in the offseason. In my opinion, the points difference will decrease dramatically next year because of the experience these guys gained this year and having another year to grow and get stronger.
  4. I agree. Look at most of the successful programs(statewide or nationally)they have middle school and some even grade school football. Yes,both are still in the same league.
  5. You know, turnovers were killers at times this year. The defense wound up in a tight spot and with our youth just weren't able to get the stops. Momentum means so much in high school ball, and most of these teams were way more experienced at taking advantage of mistakes. You know, just a thought,I would be willing to bet the coaches are even less pleased than you are with 2 wins.
  6. Avery good post. Like I said before,PATIENCE! We will get there with these coaches if we let them do their jobs.
  7. Even with the record, even you must admit those 2 teams had a lot better athletes than Navy. The fact is neither team could stop that offense. By the way,I'm willing to take my chances with these coaches, and I will trust them to do what is right with this team and my son. Anybody can 2nd guess every play call that doesn't score,it doesn't take a genius to do that. I believe a play here or a play there will have us in the playoffs next year, with more to come as these coaches build this program. Defensively,I'm quite sure we will see changes. The 3-5-3 was to get the best athletes on the field,in my opinion. I just don't understand your gripe. The team was awfully young this year, and I for one was impressed with the way they grew up. Experience(or lack of) causes a lot of play here-play there circumstances. It is obvious they were receiving good coaching by the improvement they made throughout the year. Again.be patient,it is a process to go through coming from where they were. GO CHIEFS!
  8. That is what I talked about earlier. The Meigs coaches and the Polk coaches were calling plays from the sideline a lot,but we were still gaining yards. One thing for certain,we were inches from OT in the last game. As I said before, their player was hit in the backfield and just out powered our freshman for the 1st down. That happened a lot during the game. I think defensively,we will be fine with another years growth and work. As far as the offense, did you see Navy beat Pitt and ND with the same basic offense? I must admit,at first I did not like this offense. As the season went on,the boys executed better, and I could see where this offense could be very effective. Stay patient,I believe in our coaches and still think we are on the right track. GO CHIEFS!
  9. I was talking about the whole year in general as far as play calls. You are also right, the coaches were calling some of the plays before they happened, they still worked because of the execution. That goes back to a previous post you made,"every play is designed to score",which is true when executed properly. There are very few palys I can recall this year I would like to have back, but there were a few. I bet coach Gregory feels the same way. Even so,it was a lack of execution that caused it not to be successful. The Meadows kid made some great plays when they needed them, the defense was there, just too short to stop him. All good points. On the 4th down play, the back was hit in the backfield(by a freshman),who used his strength to get the 1st down. Youth played a part in several games this year, which is why I look forward to next year. GO CHIEFS!
  10. Just to go a step further, ask the Meigs coaches what they thought about the offense. More than once they were looking for one thing and got the opposite. I for one am happy and satisfied with the coaching our kids received this year and feel like we are on our way.Everyone has an opinion to which they are entitled, just as I have my own opinions, which I keep to myself most of the time. These coaches are with the kids every day, they know who is giving the effort and who isn't. I feel for the most part they did a good job. Maybe I would have changed a playcall or 2,but I bet the coaches feel the same way at times. The old saying "hindsight is 20-20" most always holds true. The effort is there, the players are responding to this staff, better things are just around the corner, can't wait for next year after an off-season in the weight room. Coaches, stay together and keep building,we will get there! GO CHIEFS!
  11. Thank you, that was a great game last Friday night. A lot of fun to watch. Hard-hitting throughout, kids making plays, coaches working hard, overall just a great match-up. Good luck to you guys in the playoffs! GO CHIEFS!
  12. I know in all your infinite knowledge about football you have not forgotten these are 4A and 5A programs in the best football county in the state, have you? Like I said before, get your head out of the lack of sunshine and understand these guys came a long way this year! You don't think they were much more competitive this year than last? Could you see at all from where you were sitting(up high)?I am very anxious to see this team next year as they grow and mature, from where I stand, there is a lot to look forward to! Also,it takes more than an "Excuse me,you are standing in the way" to be considered being welcomed. I'm with Granny on this one. You don't like it here, this is America,go somewhere else,YOU WILL NOT BE MISSED!!!
  13. This team has nothing to be ashamed of. I totally agree with this post. Many thanks to these great seniors who refused to pack it in as so many others did. 6 freshman starters on defense, good place to build as they got some great experience this year, which is the best teacher.
  14. Congratulations,CHAMPS! Good luck in the playoffs, carry the banner HIGH! Two consecutive impressive comeback wins should give you a lot of momentum for next week.
  15. Congratulations to the Tigers on a hard fought win. Great game,well-played on both sides. Best of luck in the playoffs! GO CHIEFS!
  16. Thanks,Smokey! We had a great effort tonight, tied at 24 with 50 seconds to play. Meigs was just a little to strong for our young team, but it sure was a fun game to watch. They scored, then ran an interception back on a desperation pass there at the end. Good luck to all our teams in the playoffs! GO CHIEFS!
  17. Dude,it must really be hard for you. Someone has obviously been describing the game to you,no way you could have watched the same team I have. I suppose it is hard to see a game when you have your head so far up your butt! If you don't like the team or the coaches or the fans,it is very simple. LEAVE! Normally I try to take into account frustration and such, but this is plain CRAP! I'm quite sure Maryville or William Blount has an extra seat if you would like to go there. My suggestion to you is this, get on board or get out of the way! If you are going to get on here and demean these kids who have worked hard and improved so much,I would really like to take their part and talk to you about this face to face. In the words of the immortal Doc Holliday,"Say When."
  18. I'm with you, man! I would love to see a win Friday night! GO CHIEFS!
  19. Hey,Smokey,I definitely think Central has a shot in this game.....but--be very careful frustration don't set in when the scoring isn't as easy as past games. This will be the best defense you have faced to this point. Stay patient and focused. I'm with Warchief, would like to see the title on this end of the region. Good luck Friday night and I hope you guys prove me wrong.....Howard by 6. Sorry! GO CHIEFS!
  20. I would say that is just about right, maybe a few more than that now. The cutoff for 4A is around 1200,isn't it? It sure wouldn't be in our best interest to move up a class right now. We've still got a lot to learn about competing in 3A. We have made strides this year, but we still have a ways to go. It would be nice to go out on a winning note against Meigs this week though. Tough chore, but not impossible. GO CHIEFS!
  21. Did ol' thunderfoot from PC miss the EP attempt or did they go for 2?
  22. Just another hard effort with bad results, huh?
  23. Unfortunately,Captain Obvious was right on it, 42-7. I knew you would be fired up. I would have liked to have seen the game. Again, congratulations! Go get 'em next week!
