Congratulations Coach K. on your new position as you move into the college realm at Maryville. Your hard work, time, commitment, and sacrifice for the Powell Lady Panthers did not go unnoticed. You are a fine young coach and we wish you the best as you make this move.

The Tigers have a very good team and made a nice run to finish in the Elite 16. However, they came up against a very hot Tennessee Pride team that eliminated them in a hard fought battle for a final 8 appearance. Too bad that TN teams had to go against each other at this stage. Otherwise, TN would probably have had 3 teams in the final 8.

Congratulations girls and coaches on a tremendous week at the nationals. We are very proud of each of you and the determination that you had to finish. What a team effort it was with different individuals stepping up at different times throughout the tournament. That's what it takes to be national champions!!!!! All of your wins were decisive as you consistantly beat teams in all aspects of the game. It takes alot of heart and determinaton to do it the way that you did. Great job Coaches! You have put together a tremendous group of young ladies. They were prepared and motivated throughout the tournament and each played their individual and team roles well. You left no questions ladies.....YOU ARE THE 2004 15U AAU NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!!!!

The Sport Shop beat the Maryland Mystics to advance to the final four. They play the East Bay Explosion at 10:00 am today in the semi finals.

Great job coaches and girls. We are very proud of you. Finishing 4th is a fantastic accomplishment...one you will never forget.

Congratulations TN Raiders and coaches on a very fine finish. You should be very proud of your accomplishments this year and finishing 9th with few players is very impressive. GREAT WORK LADIES!

The final game showed the strength of Shelbyville.....stronger, 2 & 3 deep at every position. Great job by the coaches and each player. Keep working hard and you will accomplish great things this summer. I'm sure the Tigers will make a good run in the nationals as well but a special thanks to Casey Pigue and #50 for the class that you showed after the game. Its nice to see young ladies do what is right regardless of the situation. Both of you are winners.

jnthreejays, What was the score of the championship game?

I had the privilege of seeing the Knoxville Girls Club 11U team play in Shelbyville this past weekend. What a fundamentally sound team they have put together! These girls are extremely talented and a joy to watch. I was impressed with how fundamental they are......boxing out, squaring up, shot selection, passing, etc. I'm not around this age group very much but I would expect this team to do well in the nationals this year. If you get a chance....go see these young ladies play. Great job coaches and KGC!

She is on the 15U Team Pride

Not sure about the 16U Team Pride......but what would make the next game between the Tenn Pride 15U vs Shelbyville 15U so different? Shelbyville won by 39 and they have not yet practiced this year. This weekend was the the first time they have met as a team in over a year. Shelbyville's defense was poor at times but once they play together a few weeks, they might just be dangerous. I think the brackets were fair. Both 15U teams played 16U teams Sunday morning prior to the championship game. Shelbyville played a very physical Charles Davis team. Seems like a fair arrangement!

Bud, Nobody from Powell thinks this will be a CAKe walk. We know Brentwood is a very fine team and I'm sure it will be a hard fought game to the end. We just believe in the Panther girls. They have played well all year and we believe they will prevail.

Freddie, I was going to name a few teams that Powell played, but since you don't know Oak Ridge or Sevier Co., I'm not sure I should bother. Nevertheless, here is a list of few teams that Powell has beaten this year....hope you are familiar with at least one of these. Oh, and all of these except for (1) are from the hills of east Tennessee. Perhaps you should come to ET and take a geography lesson. Fife, I talked to one of the Lady Panthers last night. They are fired up, prayed up and focued on Brentwood. I'm sure it will be another classic but I'm predicting the Lady Panthers will win by 7. Go Panthers! 3 more games.......one at a time.

Hey Robpride! It will be a tough fought match Saturday night in downtown Powell against a good Jeff Co. team but I think the Lady Panthers will prevail. Their defensive play has been awesome this week. These girls are fired up like never before! One game at a time. Lady Panthers by 12.

fife, I think it will be a tough fought game but Powell will prevail by 12. Home court advantage and the Lady Panther momentum are two elements it their favor. Do you know the time of the game on Sat.? How is Terra doing?

Great job Lady Panthers and Coaches on winning the regionals against a very fine Heritage team. Since the district championship loss, you have stepped your game up to a new level and are playing your best defense of the year. Keep the focus one game at a time and have fun doing it. Don't count your chickens so early........the Lady Panthers are just fine. They are ready to finish strong in the regionals. Don't be suprised if you see Powell vs. Heritige in this year's classic. Well we won't be seeing that this year. Sevier Co. will come out to play hard tomorrow. And from the looks of it powell is in a struggle right now. South Doyle all most beat them with a bricked shot by buley with 5 seconds on the clock. SC has waxed them each time they have played. either way not taking anything away from powell is good. but Sevier Co. is consistant. SC by 7 The girls and coaches will decide the outcome tonight. Everyone thinks Powell is on a slide but I can assure you that they are ready to peak for the finale. You can forget about point spreads and by what margin you beat other teams by. The girls will line up tonight and the best team will continue on. I personally think the Lady Panthers will make a statement. You have not played and bigger or more physical team than this group. A solid Campbell County team gave you all you wanted Monday night.........you will see that the Lady Panthers are much stronger at every position than they were.
