  1. Yes he did a great job. He recognized where the defenses were vulnerable and attacked them there. Was so much better than the year before.
  2. He has helped them before,, opened up the weight room every morning at 6:30 am or earlier. There is a difference in just complaining and actual facts. He cares about the kids and just wants them to have a coach that is investing time in there future. No excuse when your head football coach is investing more time with JV basketball. Any other schools in the region not working out??????
  3. I have talked with several of the kids and ask them how winter work-outs are going and they have all said they have not done a thing yet????? Is this true? If so why?????
  4. Kids are playing real hard!! Biggest improvement is the offense. QB is playing awesome, being a leader and making plays, many weapons,45,44,7,6,17, so many can't rember them all!! Real good speed at skill postions. Who ever is calling the plays this year knows what he is doing. HUGE improvement on understanding and attacking base defenses at there weakest points. Including running plays in response to how the defense responds. Also using formations to put the defense in conflict and knowing where to attack that weakness. Very Very impressive!! Offensive line is much improved, they need to just focus as a unit on being very physical every play running there feet till the whistle, DOMINATE every play. They had OL looking to hit people last night. Down the stretch if the OL will crank it up from a physical standpoint as a unit,,, they will be hard to stop on offense, with the vastly improved playing calling based on understanding how to attack defenses, they are and will be a nightmare for defensive coordinators. Defense needs some work. Nothing wrong with the scheme, they just need to get more of an attitude and bring it. DL must improve and hold there gaps to occupy OL and let LB's make plays. Got some real good athletes at LB. LB's need to work on trusting there read keys, proper first steps from the reads and angles off there steps, and they will be very very good. Secondary needs to take there job more serious and play with zero mental mistakes, Listen to coach Black and focus every play, you can't have mental breakdowns back there. Own the turff back there and if yoiu come back here your gonna pay Overall a great looking group of kids!!!! with tons of potential GO CHIEFS!!!!
  5. Congrats to the Chiefs!!!!!! So glad for the kids, stay focused, one game at a time guys!!!! great job young men.
  6. Glad for those kids to have something to feel good about. Now work hard over the summer, condition, condition, condition. GO CHIEFS!
  7. I do not believe that i have talked about any specific kid on here. take a guess at what position i coach and i will tell you if you are right My guess is you help with the line, What say ye?
  8. I saw Big Bell at A+W the other night and he looked and sounded great. He is running second team guard behind a senior named Hannibal lol at Tusculum! He seemed very happy and content with where his life is right now and that was great to see. I am very very proud of him. That was such a great group to coach with Bell, Steinhart,Roberts, Peels, and Workman, you could get all up in there ear hole one minute then they would have you wanting to fall down laughing the next. They were truly a band of brothers, Could have been a really special group if it had not been taken away from them by several disgruntled parents worrying about what underachieving little Johnny did not get GIVEN to them. I cant wait till the school board election in August, if the people of 2nd district don't get out and vote to help get rid of all the back room deals that are done with no regard for our kids, then no one should ever complain again. I know some of you will say let it go, but I want let go what a few selfish people STOLE form a group of kids that deserved so much better than what they got served to them by a few stupid adults, who knows,,, with change in the school board several may be looking for jobs! Good to hear that John Ray is back in town, and had a great year at the Citadel, where he will be second in command for his sophmore class! Peels has been invited to a couple of combines and will do well (great feet), and Workman will be at Cumberland. I stopped by practice yesterday and didn't get to see much but the kids seemed to be into it and having fun! Saw Wiggy, Peels, and Zach they looked good! Go Chiefs!
  9. Roberts this is by far the best compliment you have had in a long long time! But do you look like me or do i look like you. Warning to all high school football coachs,if SLOBBER ever becomes a head coach at the high school level, be ready he will not trade films with you. me of course I am the pretty one and you are the smart one
  10. CoachT has them Class 3A district 6!
  11. Roberts this is by far the best compliment you have had in a long long time!
  12. thanks, real funny and real factual all in the same sentence, Two concepts in one sentence was thought to be over your head, good job Forrest.
  13. Cumberland County is 3A and was 2-8 last year.
  14. I am not surprised. Of the many things you could get arrested for, Impersonating a football coach would have to be at the top of the list. I am sure WB would just bring JV if that is what Satterfield wanted. I don't think even in a "heartbeat" that will happen.
  15. They should offer the OC job to slobberknocker, he would run the wingt or double wing,,,,,oh thats right he thinks they are the same thing ROFLMAO I am sure William Blount would scrimmage the Chiefs, Makes a lot of sense not much travel, good gate, I am sure WB would be willing any time any place, if they had to walk or crawl to get there. Somebody should mention it to Satterfield
  16. Its sounds like your close to the program, maybe even a coach.I hope SEQ.has a better year this year.Just wondering what your take on how you think they will be ,i don't get to talk to people much anymore but i still support them and wish them the best. well the experience that the younger players got last year will pay off this year. right now we are looking at dyer at qb. huffman at rb. bell at reciecver.we have a new player that moved from harriman and has more speed than lil bell. on the line we have peels and wiggins that are working out but we have had some huge freshman that could very well see alot of playing time but we will just have to wait until two a days to see if they can dothe job.but we should be better. I was told today that Dyer may not play and that Arp may miss the year due to Shoulder surgery that will have him on the shelf till at least August 1.
  17. If he has taken the job Sweetwater got a good one. He is the same coach David Gregory had hired at Sequoyah until Dean Williams and a handful of his fellow Vonoreites decided to tell Mike Lowry who to hire, circumventing the entire hiring process. Gregory was told that morning to hire who he wanted except for Sam Mckorkle(Twice college head coach, assistant at several SEC schools) Mckorkle was ready to accept the job,,,, but Dean Williams and his Vonore posse told Mike Lowrey who THEY wanted hired not even bothering to fill out a current application for employment! .( In fact Gregory after he was told he could not hire Mckorkle , had Marsh on his way to the school to finalize the deal. When Mr. Moser(the principal) got a call that Dean Williams(school board) and Mike Lowery(superintendent) had decided who THEY WANTED to hired and it would be announced the next morning. Needless to say Coach Gregory resigned on the spot. In the earlier thread money was talked about, but In my opinion until you have honest school board members that want stick there nose were it doesn't belong and lie to people in the process the Monroe county school system including athletics will stay in shambles. Dean Williams is up for reelection and I believe the people in Monroe county have had enough. So get out and vote. Send the message that enough is enough and hopefully better days will be ahead for the kids in Monroe County.

I am still disappointed in some of the play calling sometimes it looks really good and other times I have flashbacks from last year. [trlgirl responds/b] After what those boys have been through with the coaching changes these past few years, and especially with what I??™ve heard they went through the past two years, I get the feeling that they don??™t think they can win. I saw a lot of heart from them on Friday night when they were walking back to the locker room, heads hung low. They truly looked disappointed because they gave their all, which was apparent during the game. But I know that with the current coaching staff, that given time they can turn this program around. I just hate the seniors won??™t be around to reap the benefits. Webb had a great game carrying the ball and it surprised me that the coaches didn??™t use him more, especially in the fourth quarter and in over-time. But, I do hope that they continue to use him in the future, with his speed and Bower??™s strength they really will and already do make a difference. My fear, however, is that they along with other seniors are being overlooked since they won??™t be there next year. Top There are a lot of feathers flocked together here! It is nice on the lake this time of year Top You see when slobber had a kid playing it was all different. He blamed the coaches for certain kids not being dedicated and team players, it was the coaches fault they didn't achieve because of favoritism. Now it is great coaching and lack of talent. Now as later he has no concern for the team just what he and few of his friends wanted for THERE KIDS. He has no concern for your kids or there feelings just promoting his agenda. He hides behind a computer and calls kids out and embarrasses them that tells you all you need to know. Sure he wants everyone to move on so he can continue to hide. BTW slobber came up to coach Gregory at the Sweetwater game and told him "Hey I just want you to know I am not slobberknocker!" Everybody thought that was hilarious! Aurora and windchase you have got great kids as are the rest of the kids I know on that team. It killed me to see them go through what they went through this year, actually words cant even start to describe it, you get very close to kids you coach kinda like your own,you hurt when they hurt and cry along with them when you need to. Some people though,,,,,sadly enough got EXACTLY what THEY wanted, and for them and they all know(as do all of you) in there hearts it was never ever about the kids , just personal vendettas and agendas. Yeah I would want everyone to move on too. Those that truly care about ALL the kids "AIN'T FORGITTIN"
  19. Hope your right on the score, but Seq.has only scored 2 tds all year on off. That 39 will be a tall task. wonder what SLOBBER thinks. Play hard boys! Sterling play both ways,Josh stay on your blocks and finish "every play", Dusty RUN YOUR FEET,Come on guys, come off the ball, pads down(pad leverage), remember "fit up" hands inside and finish, finish, finish, with your, butt in the hole. You young ones need to leave it all on the field, no tomorrows. Go Chiefs!

  21. It is important to me and many others. Not trying to be smart but you neither have to read or listen to anything I have to say or write. You have no Idea what prompted that post, if you did, and you are unbiased then you would most likely understand the reasons for that post.
  22. Good post! Bottom line is Meadows left WB by "his" choice. He knew there would be hurt feelings. To carry this on in the papers is not professional. Does he think those comments are going to help things? Make things go away? He made a choice, take the high road, man up and move on. Sounds to me like he may have been frustrated that WB played them a competitive game. My suggestion to the WB loyalist would be from here on move forward, to not even mention SM and focus on your bright future. Use all your energy in moving that program forward. Everyone will suffer set backs in life, it is how we respond to those setbacks that will ultimately define us. WB has people in place in and around that program that will make solid decisions based on what is best for the kids day in and day out. Trust me the kids will notice. Roll your sleeves up, jump in and work your butts off for the kids. Much can be accomplished by a few when no one cares who gets the credit. Enjoy the ride, great days are ahead. . GO GOVS!!!!!!!!!
  23. I finally will be able to be at the game this week. I have never been a fan of the privates. I think they all should play in there "own" classification or in 6A. EVERYONE(except the privates they love it) knows that it is not a level playing field. The multiplier does very little to balance things. It is not fair to the kids. Now the private loyalist will start into there diatribe bla bla bla You cant defend the defenseless. I don't know who the privates have pictures of but it must be . Looking forward to the game. Do me a favor ask Coach G to stand on a ladder so I can see what play he is signaling in. One time we were playing on a field with a very high crown and the QB could not get the play from the far hash GO GOVS
