  1. Alex, all I did was call one guy out, after he slandered my entire school. I probably shouldn't have exposed him like that, but maybe he'll learn. I'm done with this though fellows. It's much more fun discussing sports.
  2. I don't care for calling people out by name either, but if you come on here trying to diminish what a bunch of teeanagers are doing on the court by making stuff up about their school, you run the risk of getting called out. Patriot3, you would feel the same way if it was directed at your school.
  3. It's going to be a tough year for Temple next year, after losing 7 seniors and only returning one player (a junior) who gets any varsity playing time. I think they'll do a lot better than people expect, but still only finish somewhere in the middle of the pack.
  4. Look Dragoo (It's time to call you by your real name), just figure out how to beat Temple so you can quit being such a sore loser. If Temple recruited they would have beat you a lot worse than they always have.
  5. Good point, but losing to a team you beat by 60 in the same season exposes some big problems. IMO there isn't a great team in this region this year, so far. Hopefully one of the top three will change that by the end of the season.
  6. I'm picking Arts in this one for two reasons. 3rd street is a tough place to play, and I don't expect Grace to come out strong, having just beaten Arts less than 2 weeks ago.
  7. Why would CSAS give up the admissions and concessions? I would think that game would be their biggest money maker of the year.
  8. I couldn't agree with you more BB. A lot of folks think that since Temple basically has the same team this year that went to state last year they will automatically be back. Remember, last year Temple had to upset Grace and CSAS to get to state. They just peaked at the right time. Right now it looks like Grace and CSAS are playing their best ball of the year. If Temple doesn't play their best ball in the regions their season will end there.
  9. CoachT scoreboard shows CSAS won, 58-40. Grace must have had some starters missing.
  10. I 2nd the congratulations, Coniglio. By the way, do you pronounce it "Zavier", or "Eggsavior"? Best wishes man!
  11. Grace should win this one by 10 or more. Just too many weapons.
  12. When the whole defense collapses on Pat doesn't that leave several other eagles open? Good job with the student section. Every team needs one like that.
  13. Yes. It was Temple's last regular season game. I think the time off will give them rest and healing. Their first game in districts will be easy enough to help knock off any rust.
  14. I should have said 24 was the most talented player. Shaughnessy is their best player, IMO. Nothing is wrong with the mohawk and star, but if I was Grace's coach, I would tell 24 to spend less time in the beauty shop and more time learning to pass and play defense.
  15. 24 is Grace's best player. You'll have to figure it out. The only new player I saw was Grace's freshman who had 2 big steals that led to a layup and dunk. That kid's gonna be a stud. He should go ahead and transfer to a school that will make the most of his talent.
  16. I agree with you that Grace had a good game plan, defensively anyway. It looked like Church was told to not allow Kemp to get the ball, and he did a good job of that. IMO, for Temple to beat good teams Kemp has to be active on offense, but he was really limited last night. About Grace's student section, that's just what kids do. Unlike years past, I thought they were pretty well behaved last night. I agree with you that it's a shame Temple's student body isn't as enthusiastic. Having a crowd like that would be a big boost. As for the kids screaming in the faces of Temple's players as they left the court...Can you think of a better motivator for Temple for the rematch? One last thought...If I was picking a basketball team I would pick kids from the band before I would pick Grace's 24 (the boy with the mohawk and star on his head.) He hurts Grace more than he helps them, which is a shame because he has incredible talent. He could have had 10 assists last night, but kept insisting on throwing up bad shots. What a waste of ability.
  17. You were close...Grace won by 3. Congratulations eagles.
  18. Temple tends to come out flat against teams they know they can beat. Grace can be a tough place to play.
  19. I think this one will go down to the last minute. How about you?
  20. I'll be the first to agree. Watch the 2 teams in warm-ups this Friday night. If you hadn't seen the 2 in action before you'd probably put $100 on Grace to win by 20. Temple's got talent, but they win with structure, defense, and team play. Grace has better individual talent at probably all but one position, but for whatever reason is having another under-achieving year.
  21. The scrubs can play without restrictions in the JV game. Until they get good enough to play quality minutes in varsity, they need to play within the boundaries of good sportsmanship.
  22. In the final you're talking about...several weeks earlier CSAS had gotten within a handful of points of beating Temple in the region championship. I think Coach Skogen's reluctance to pull out his starters with a 30 point lead in the state final probably had more to do with respecting CSAS's ability to put up fast points on the board. But, I do understand your point, and there were several times two years ago when I thought subs should have played earlier than they did. And in those cases, which is probably the case with Dragoo, the coaches aren't necessarily disrespecting the other teams. I just think more can be done to show respect.
  23. I think anytime you beat anyone by 50+ points, the case can be made that you could have shown better sportsmanship. This thread has already given a bunch of ways to keep the score from ballooning, and at the same time let your subs play hard. I didn't see the game where my team beat DB by 60, but a score like that probably wasn't necessary. I certainly don't see how running up a score enables your team to see the "big picture."
