  1. Try to distract everyone from what CSAS has done twice in the last 2 weeks by bringing up what Temple did 2 years ago?
  2. Actually it doesn't ring a bell. All I know about that game is Temple only won by 39. It could have been a lot worse but good sportsmanship was shown. What last regular season game? Last year? Explain.
  3. I just want them to show some class. Winning by that big a margin is shameful...to most people.
  4. My praise for Dragoo was sarcastic. There's no glory in beating a team of country boys by 74 points. Whitwell has only won 1 regular season game this year, so to hold them to 39 isn't a huge accomplishment. 2nd time in 2 weeks a CSAS team has run it up by over 70. Enjoy it while you can.
  5. Wow! They beat Whitwell 113-39. Well done Dragoo! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. I think CSAS is almost certain to be in the region finals, although Spitt might have something to say about that. Although Grace has the most talented team in the area, IMO, I expect Temple to beat them in the district and region, then meet CSAS again in the finals. As for the upcoming CSAS/Grace matchups, they should be great games. It's hard to pick a winner because Grace is so inconsistent. I would think if CSAS could hold Hermann to under 15 they could win. That would be a tall order, because he's a great scorer, but I say double-team him. It's not like he's going to pass to the open man.
  7. I think any good recruiter knows it's not all about points. The highest scorers in the city are usually single A kids that play on poor teams, and don't play past high school. I don't think it hurts a kids college chances to have a few low scoring games in favor of the subs getting a chance to play.
  8. Temple wins 58-52. CSAS has a much better team than I expected. #33 made a lot of great shots. This should be the region championship game, and Temple learned tonight they better bring their A game.
  9. A totally inexusable loss for Grace. With all their talent they should be a contender for a state championship. Silverdale is way down this year and should not be able to beat Grace's 2nd string. Congrats to Silverdale.
  10. Kids, coaches, parents, and fans that worry about personal stats have got it all wrong.
  11. Gracefan423's purpose is to say stupid things to stir people up. Ignore him and he might go away.
  12. Good post rufus. I agree that if I was on a bad team I would feel disrespected if the other team didn't try. That's why I say the dominate team should play their worst 5 players the majority of the game, and let them do their thing. Don't press, but do everything else as usual. The parents of the starters might go away dissapointed, but the parents of the 3rd stringers will enjoy a rare chance to see their kids play.
  13. Why do the starters have to get their points?
  14. Temple. Start a thread about Grace. I'd like to see some discussion about how everyone (Grace fans especially)sees their season progressing. Back to your topic. I'm picking Temple by 15 against CSAS Friday.
  15. gracefan, you've either posted on or started 3 Temple-related threads in the last 25 minutes. You sure you're a Grace fan?
  16. I say, once you're up 30, put your worst 5 players in for the rest of the game and tell them to go score. If the other team can't stop them, too bad. Sounds like CSAS made at least some attempt to not run it up. I'm not trying to start anything...just wondering what happened.
  17. CSAS had 7 girls who scored 4 or fewer points. Seems like they could have played more.
  18. Did any of you witness this? Do tell.
  19. Ben is one of the rare high school players you'll see with the courage to take a charge when someone is flying in for a layup with his knee in Ben's face. You could probably call them "flops" sometimes, but I've seen his willingness to take a charge kill the other team's momentum countless times. Ben will be the first to tell you he is not D-1 material. But he's definitely a crucial part of Temple's plan to return to state.
  20. I wasn't at the game, but really wasn't suprised by how relatively close it was. The word is that Spitt is extremely athletic and has been improving as a team. Also, Sexton's first option is to usually to pass. He isn't worried about his pts., especially in a game Temple's suppossed to win.
  21. The game, actually 3 years ago now, was played at Temple's college gym. As big as that gym is, the place was packed. Probably more of home court advantage for Temple, although they only play there in region tournaments. But, as I understood it, Grace collected the admissions, so probably pulled in 3 times as much as they would have at Grace. I think Temple kept the concessions. Anyway, much better venue for such a huge game.
  22. If it's any consolation, Temple played one of their best games of the year. Grace can beat Temple, in my opinion...just going to have to do some things differently. Anybody know if Grace admin. is considering playing their home game versus Temple somewhere other than Grace, like they did 2 years ago? Temple's gym was full the other night. Only half those people will fit in Grace's gym.
  23. Since nobody who knows is answering this question, I'll give it a shot. There is a younger McMasters on the team who is about 6'3". Probably a sophomore. Doesn't play in close games.
  24. They seemed to try harder in the 1st half to get him the ball, and Temple was putting him on the line. With Temple's biggest man (Johnson) giving up 5" to Shaughnessy, Grace should have been able to get him the ball. I saw him open a bunch, his teammates just took their own shots. Just my opinion. It may not have been that simple.
