  1. From Eagleville: James Blackwell John David Proctor
  2. Didn't mean to stur up a hornets nest with this. I was there merely for the 3rd game where Eagleville played Van Buren. I had no dog in the fight. I think both calls were the correct call, even though they both seemed to go against Forrest. The Infield fly rule is a judgement call, if in the umpires judgement it is a routine fly ball to an infielder then he should call infield fly, that ball last night was most likely the outfielders ball, but momo from Cascade is just so fast he go to it and called off the outfielder, if I'm that outfielder I let Momo have it as well, just because that's the type of leader that he is, he steps up and takes charge. In response to the behavior of the Forrest fans, they were upset because things weren't going their way, I never heard a life threat on the Umpire, but I could be wrong. If those two calls would have gone against Cascade, I'm sure the Cascade fans would have been just as bad on the umpires. Every school has fans that have a tendency of getting on the umpires/officials. It's high school sports, fans pay their money to get in and cheer for their team and yell at the officials. Happens in all sports. It's not a job that alot of people can perform. If their behavior was over the top, I'm sure the TSSAA will hand down some sort of punishment.
  3. Saw two things happen that I have never seen at a baseball game before last night at MTCS in the game matching Chapel Hill against Cascade. In the first game, Cascade had runners on 1st and 3rd with 1 out. Fly ball to the outfield for the second out.. Runner at 3rd tags and scores, runner at 1st never tags and gets caught in a run-down, eventually getting out. From what I understand if Chapel Hill would have just stepped on 1st base the run would not have counted, but instead they tagged the runner out and it was an unconventional double play, atleast that's what some of the coaches above me were saying so the run counted. If that wasn't crazy enough and confusing enough... In the top of the 7th, Chapel Hill loads the bases with one out in a tie ball game.. Chapel Hill Player hits a fly ball to shallow left and the shortstop from Cascade sprints after it and barely gets to it... It looks like he will catch it pretty easily but he drops it, throws to 3rd, then the 3rd baseman throws to 2nd for a double play while the runner from third went to the plate to score. No one, even the umpires, really knew what to call, but eventually they ended up calling the force outs at 3rd and 2nd, and no run scored.. Cascade ended up scoring on a walk-off base hit in the bottom half of the 7th.. Great game from both squads, our prayers are with Mr. Henson (Coach's Dad) who was taken by ambulance during the game to the hospital.
  4. Eagleville will play the winner of Boyd/Van Buren @ 8:00. The winner of that game will then get MTCS on Tuesday. After that it gets a little confusing.. The winner of the first game Tuesday (Boyd/Van Buren/Eagleville vs. MTCS) will then play the loser of the Cascade vs Forrest game. That will decide which team comes out of the loser's bracket.
  5. Cascade seemed to stumble a bit on the 4th seeded Eagleville team, only beating them 11-10 and 5-3 Tuesday night. Could be interesting going into the tournament, seems the Champions aren't clicking on all cyllinders going into Saturday.
  6. Eagleville beat Moore County on Saturday. I think the score was 10-2 but I'm not sure if that is correct or not.
  7. Eagleville looks to rebound after a TOUGH over-time loss to East Lit Thursday night. Culleoka is a very talented team, but don't count out the eagles. They are a very talented team and have been playing very well of late. I look for a very competitive game with Eagleville pulling an upset on a last second shot.
  8. I've heard they look pretty good. There's a new coach so who really knows. This is the third coach in 3 years these boys have had. I'm interested to see. The Blackwell kid is the only one I really remember from last year as having alot of talent.
  9. The Forrest Rockets lost quite a bit last year, who's the front runner in 9A this year?
