  1. If all this is true then it could be a good thing for the program. when the boys program was at its best and went to state a couple years ago they had a similar hard nosed coaching style. the biggest plus is stability in the program. the upcoming senior class will be on its fourth different head coach in as many years. finally having a coach that will be there for a while will really be a huge boost. the talent is there, they just need the right coach.
  2. what are the matchups for state? which winners play which winners?

my mistake. just seems like when i played that was another motivating factor in beating them, but i guess i was just told wrong.

I dunno about 28 shots. The Smyrna goalie only had to make about three tough saves. one off a free kick, one on a good shot by aliu(i know im very wrong on the spelling) at the end of the game, and im sure there was probably another one or two i just can't remember off the top of my head. Lavergne did dominate posession to start the game but once smyrna got their two quick goals the play was very much back and forth. If the game was played between the uprights lavernge would have won. most of their shots were from the outside and either didnt make it through traffic or were high and wide. Smyrna played a good game and finished the chances they had. Im also not too sure about that 9 out of 10. nothing against lavergne, they have alot of talent this year and they've shown they are a great team, but its a completely different game when they play smyrna. its a rivalry and no matter how bad or great one of the team is its always close. lavergne still hasnt ever beaten smyrna and i know these seniors dont wanna be the first to lose.

Juliet Hendersonville 1-2-0. games left: Smyrna, Mt. Juliet, Gallatin Mt. Juliet 0-3-0. games left: Lavergne, Smyrna, Hendersonville. the tournament is in Smyrna this year 1-6 can still take the district. Smryna plays Hendersonville in the only district game tonight. Smyrna is coming off a big win over Lavergne while Hendersonville is coming off a tough loss to Wilson Central. This is gonna be an interesting district to watch.
  7. brentwood and hendersonville are in region 5. region 1 is far east tn.
  8. Nothing's guaranteed in 9AAA this year. Smyrna beat Lavergne 3-0 tonight as well.
  9. 1. They are playing some good teams. The combined record of the teams they've lost to is 15-1-4. Wilson Central is 4-0, they're not a bad team. 2. They lost their starting keeper a couple weeks ago. He's one of the best around.
  10. theres no need for this. it happened a long time ago and doesnt even involve tennessee high school soccer. this is just turning into another bashing of coach dakis.
  11. I can guarantee you coach dakis is long gone, you wount see him around here. but i did hear that rumor a year or two ago. i will say mr. davis does know soccer, he has coaching experience. as stated earlier, the opening of seigle really hurt oakland. Smyrna has rick parlow helping with training but i dont think the high school team is his first priority. With Smyrna the lack of a select program, and overall natural talent really hurts. They just dont have players like jonny black and drew davenport anymore. for both teams the key is establishing some pride and a winning attitude is key. Gonyea will be able to provide that, he's a great motivator, he just lacks soccer experience and knowledge. both teams can get back to winning ways, they just have to start to turn it around.
  12. haha, you are correct.
  13. The coach dakis problem started with the girls. It ran over and affected the boys in that they had to lose a coach. Most of the guys that played for him liked him. However, there are many people that don't like him, thats why i didnt want to talk about him on here.boards about him get ugly and get closed. personally he's the best coach i've ever played for. As for no support from the admin. that is very true. They guys only have 11 game and 3 at home because they took so long getting a coach this year. They have gotten approval from the school board to build a soccer facility, so maybe things are turning around.
  14. Smyrna is going through alot of coaching change. They are on their third different coach in three years. The trouble started 2 yars ago with the whole dakis mess, but theres no need to get into that on here. The program needs stability. Also, the select program in smyrna is very weak. There are no older age group teams . I personally had to go to Nashville or Murfreesboro to find a travel team to play on. There are only about 3 or 4 players now that are on select teams where as the state team had at least 12 or 13 that played in smyrna, murfreesboro, hendersonville, etc. the program can get turned around, it will just take some off season comitment from the players and some coaching stability.
  15. as far as i know smyrna only has a couple games in all of march. i think they only play on the 13th and 29th in march. they're pretty full in april though.
  16. smyrna has alot of openings in the schedual, especially this month.
