The direction of this thread leads me to believe you guys didn't see Appy State in the big house last saturday. Maryville needs to go over and take care of business early and keep focused on this game. Don't get me wrong I'm a rebel fan and alum and i think GQ is the best in the business at the ole "1 game at a time". I'm just saying it did happen last week in Ann Arbor, and I'll bet that Mich thought they would be seeing a lot of 2nd&3rd team playing in the second half before that one!!!

maryville has won a lot of theese games in the past by virtue of more depth than alcoa. ive said for years if you line up the best 15-20 players on each side you would probably be pretty even but the next 20-30 players have been heavily in favor of maryville for the past several years. the game being week one just makes this worse for aloca. like rebelron cobb scares me to death, when you have a qb that can run its a different game and he can run with the best of them. that being said if i was alcoa douglas, shiver and burnette would scare me to death also. this should/could be one of the great ones in the history of this game. but maryville will win in the 4th quarter by 10 simply by having more in the tank.

you are 100% correct on the thought process of FANS of the other county schools. for some reason MHS is perceived as being snobish. I got/get this first hand as my wife is one of them. The reality is far different than the percoption, but unless you've been involved with maryville or at maryville you wouldn't know this. about your ministry assignment would that be with Young Life? If so I'm sure i know you.

well said papa chaos. tell me why is it that we have so many haters ,even in our own town? i was talking to a county team fan the other day and they were telling me how bad they hated the rebels. i told them i hoped all the county teams went 14-1 and won it all but they dont feel the same. i think it would be great if we had three state champs in the same county and greenback in 1a am i alone in this thinking?

If you read the article the kid was 15 in the 6th grade. Not to take anything away from him but Jeremy is barely 14. Great job JM and the Nation should be tough agin next year as they were very young.
