  1. You are right, Culleoka was the best team on the floor last night. Game was a lot closer than it should have been. This Culleoka team is VERY DANGEROUS right now. Beat MTP in the regular season then knocked out CA early in the tournament. Not saying they will advance past region (make too many mental mistakes, foul too much and still recovering from Miller) but I wouldn't want to play them in an elimination game. 1. Richland 2. MTP 3.Culleoka 4.SF
  2. Even the level of talent on this board has declined. I remember now why I stopped getting on here. At least use proper grammar so someone doesn't need a translator. Sheesh! Good luck to all teams in the tournament. I hope whoever wins it beats the brakes off 12A. Cullypride...OUT!
  3. Agree completely. These teams being ranked #1 is a joke. I think Richland is better than both these teams. Cully hung with MTP in MTP (with miller coaching) and beat them in Cully. CA struggled with Cully in both games....and Cully isn't near a state team. If these two teams are top 3 in the state of Tennessee, as the polls have indicated, the talent statewide is worse than I thought. Just my UNBIASED opinion. No personal connection to any of these teams.
  4. trying to figure out seeds for the tounament. MTP is obviously the 1 seed since they havent lost a district game. Culleoka finished 8-4 after taking 2 very close games from cornersville this week (both ended 3-2 in 8 innings). CA has at least 4 losses, Richland has 5 and cornersville has 6, with CA/Richland still having games left to play. So by my calculations.... If CA beats Richland 1. MTP (12-0) 2. Culleoka/CA (8-4) 3. Culleoka/CA (8-4) 4. C'ville/Richland (6-6) 5. Cville/Richland (6-6) 6. Santa fe (2-10) 7. Hampshire (0-12) If Richland beats CA 1. MTP (12-0) 2. Culleoka (8-4) 3. CA/ Richland (7-5) 4. CA/ Richland (7-5) 5. Cornersville (6-6) 6. Santa Fe (2-10) 7. Hampshire (0-12) A lot will be determined via coin flip since many teams split. Should make for a fun tourny either way.
  5. I wouldn't count Cully out just yet. They came out and punched MTP square in the teeth the other night in the first half. Refs let MTP back in after halftime (bogus walk calls and 5 fouls in the first 2.5 mins of the third). But give credit to Harlem, he knocked down 4 straight jump shots to pull them ahead. Culleoka could have easily walked out of the districts with a 1st place trophy, and they know it. Don't sleep on these guys just yet.
  6. Personally, I dont think they are really that good of a team. And surely not a top 5 state team. Looking at the records of the teams and all the hype with MTP, these games should have been blow outs. As well as the OT win against CA. If MTP runs into a set of refs that call a lot of "over the back", they will lose because half the team will foul out. They seem to have more discipline than years past, but still lack greatly in that area. I think all the hype surrounding MTP is due to a down year. Had this team been around a few years ago when the region was outstanding (Culleoka with Demario Williams, Moore Co with Tyler Jean and Summertown with Wes Long), MTP would lose by 15+ in the first round of the region. Maybe that isn't a fair comparison considering how dominant those teams were, but when you become a "top 5 team", thats the group that comes to mind. And this year's MTP team isn't even in the same sentence with those 3 teams. That being said, MTP will most likely walk through districts unless Culleoka, Richland or CA (not sold on SF)can make a run. They might run into some trouble with PC or Loretto in region but will still probably go to substate and state. They should just be thankful that there is 0 chance of having to face Spring Hill again somewhere down the line.
  7. It's more about the principle than anything. Even if CA gets beat the headline is usually something like "CA falls short" with a picture of a CA player shooting. The Culleoka/ SF games (girls and boys) are probably the best district matchups tonight. Ya'll be sure to have your magnifying glasses ready. The names and points scored by each player will be wrong, but at least the final score will be right. Maybe.
  8. Just would like to vent for a minute. How come is it when Culleoka, or any other team for that matter, beats CA there is only a 4 sentence paragraph on the third page of the sports section? But when CA beats someone, latest example was SF, they get a 8x10 picture and a novel on the front page. I just don't get what makes CA of all schools so much better than the rest of the area schools. They haven't won anything basketball wise, girls or boys, since like 2001. Both Culleoka teams went to the pit and won last week and if you didnt have a magnifying glass handy when looking at the paper, you wouldn't even have known the games took place. Just doesnt seem right.
  9. Beating Summertown in any sport is an accomplishment, no matter how they are playing. Cully has been struggling lately as well. They have been missing a lot of (mostly open) shots that they should make.
  10. You can have him. Cully's girls have been doing better as of late. A 1 point loss to Cornersville and a win against CA in the pit. Just have to keep moving forward.
  11. A good observation at that. Summertown girls are a lock to make it to the Boro. They are head and shoulders better than any girls team I have seen in a long while.
  12. I believe so. Culleoka SHOULD BE leading or tied for the lead of the district right now, could EASILY be 3-1 right now and maybe 4-0 if not for being content with playing with SF for a half. They just need to focus more on winning instead of not hurting people's feelings.
