They can definately lock the #1 seed up. Just depends on how bad they want it. Cully is playing good baseball right now. If they play D, they could spoil Cornersville's hopes at #1. I see the series ending in a split, which would most likely give Cornersville the top seed.

My bad you are right. Cully would need a sweep and a CA sweep for a #3 seed. Upshaw beat Hall on Monday. Albright beat Staggs on Tuesday, Greene closed. Morrow beat #10 (tall lefty) from MTP today, Upshaw closed. It may just be me but i DO NOT think that Culleoka can sweep Cornersville yet along split with them. I think Cornersville will come out hungry since they took a tought loss last night to Cascade 3-2. I talked to some people from Cornersville after the game and they said Adams threw a good game they just made a few errors that cost them late in the game. They also said they didnt hit the ball the way they should have. Good luck to all teams finishing up district play next week but when it is all said and done I think Cornersville will get a number one seed in the tourney and a first round bye. Cully has the ability to beat Cornersville I can promise you that. Will they though? Who knows. I think the harder pitching is exactly what Cully needs to see. Their biggest problem is waiting on the ball to get there. Most of the team has been in front of everything. Guess we will see come Monday at 6. Santafebaby, yes Williams would start on short if I were coaching and had them both. Staggs would be on 3rd. Much stronger that way. Cully sweeps SF earlier in the week and get a big win tonight over MTP 6-2. With a split next week vs cornersville and a little help suddenly they are looking at a #2 or #3 seed in the tournament. They seem to be clicking at the right time.

prolly because he realized that he just wasn't that good......kinda like CA's whole baseball team ..... we watched him play post 19 last year for a few games and yea, not too pretty O lord here we go again. You can't get on Post 19/Post 19 jrs and not be "that good". He could start shortstop and bat top 2 for any team in the district. Grow up geezz.

Bats came alive or CA choked? I heard CA made like 6 errors and walked 4 in the 6th inning. Sounds to me like CA lost the game more than Cornersville won it. Amazing what a little pressure can do. Cully decided not to show up yet again and went down to Richland 12-5. I swear that team is bipolar! On the positive side Ty Daly (freshman) hit an absolute bomb. That kid is going to be a force to be reckoned with the next 3.5 years.

Culleoka beat Richland tonight 10-5. The Warriors responded well from a bad week last week. They have got to get consistent! Sounds like CA choked tonight. Any details? Did Cornersville's bats come alive, CA kick the ball around, umps help out, ect...whats the story?

CA isn't 12 runs better, I'm not sure if they are better at all. CA just wanted to win and Cully was more worried about the river and Mule Day. Cully looked the worst it has in 5 or 6 years last night. They were more upset about having to run after the game than being shut out and embarrassed in a district game. They gotta get it together or its going to be a LONG year. Hate to see the talent going to waste. Warrior101....just stop. You obviously haven't watched Cully play much. Lots of talent. No heart. No care. They don't want to go to state cause it might cut into their river and beach time.

Finally someone with some sense. 7-1 at this point means absolutely nothing. Sure it looks good on paper but when you break it down and look at the teams played it's not all that impressive. I can promise you if Cornersville had played teams like Cascade, Lawrence Co, Lewis Co, Giles Co ect.. like some of the other teams in the district have, they would not be sitting at 7-1 right now.

I'm just saying there is no need for "GOOOOOO DAWGSSSS " in EVERY SINGLE POST. Give it a rest this isn't middle school.

You forgot to mention that Cully got beat by Zion too!!!!! If thats the team they wanna be then I don't see them making it too far anywhere!!!!! And Cornersville never said anything about going to be the state champs this year, but a 7-1 record is pretty impressive if u ask me..... Oh and 4-8 is pretty good for Cully I guess so congrats on such a great season so far!!!!! Cully will go as far as they want to go. They just need to decide which team they want to be Their season will revolve around which teams shows up. If the team that lost to Zion shows up it's going to be a longggggg season. If the team that beat Zion 18-0 and played Giles Co to the wire shows up they won't have trouble beating anybody in the district. I'm going to say it now and I'm sure the 25 new CoachT members from the high school kids at Cornersville will all be on here running their mouths saying how it won't happen, but I see Cornersville baseball having the same fate as SF basketball. Start hot, fade mid-season, finish somewhere around .500. But then again would you expect anything less from Cornersville????

I think we should change the thread to Cornersville for State Champs. #1 Defense at this point means absolutely nothing. I bet there are about 50 teams that CoachT has as #1 right now. Cully beat Zion 18 nothing earlier in the week and played Giles Co to a 7-3 game last night, they left the bases loaded in the top of the 7th. They get it together they will be TOUGH to beat. (yes that includes Cornersville having a hard time with them too) Cully will go as far as they want to go. They just need to decide which team they want to be.

Cully beat Hampshire again. 13-5 the final.

Cully straight up dominated Hampshire 14-0. James Upshaw threw a 50 pitch complete game.

Cornersville does not have anyone throwing mid-80's I can promise you. No one in the district does. Kerry Workman barely threw mid 80's last year, and he wasnt consistently that high. The district will be lucky to even touch 80 more than once or twice... all i can say is if u dont belive it when we play ya'll bring a lite bat and a radar gun sucka Wow! I guess I should get a couple scouts from the Braves to come watch Cornersville play. Sounds like they have the team to beat in the state, maybe even the country. No reason to even play the rest of the teams to see what they really have huh? Cully threw a kid that had never pitched in a game against Lewis Co and they threw their #2. I wouldn't be surprised if Hampshire/Cully game is close. The new coach down there has really made an impact on the program.

I meant consistently game in and game out. I'm sure both pumped up to upper 80's more than a few times when they needed to, just not every game. Really close to 80 and 84-87 is a HUGEEEEE difference.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. Every pre-season they talk a big game and say the COULD or SHOULD be near the top, but always fade fast. I don't think this year will be any different. Like monkey said....I'll believe it when I see it. Don't over look Cully or MTP. Both returned alot from last year. MTP didn't lose many from a District winning season last year and Cully only lost 1. If these teams get hot they could run away with it. With Staggs, SF shouldn't be over looked either. That kid can win games on his own when his head is right.

Exactly the reason we are having this conversation. He should know better than to put himself in such situations. That should come with the spotlight. Demario Williams, Tyler Jean, Mathew Williams....ever heard of anything happening anywhere close to this with their names mentioned? Didn't think so. Stop making excuses.
