  9. In most athletic competitions, a one-point difference in the score means the match or game was very close. Friday night in Chattanooga, Houston High School senior Brandon Wright beat Bradley Central’s Travis Creagan, 4-3, for the 160-pound Division I state title. But, according to Wright, the match wasn’t really that close. "I had control the whole match," Wright said about an hour after earning his second straight state title. Last year Wright took first at 152. Creagan was the defending champion at 160. "I gave him all the points he had when I let him up." The showdown between Creagan and Wright was one that most observers saw coming. Wright had a close call (1-0 over Danny Tolbert of Red Bank) in the semifinals, but breezed through his other matches. Creagan had two pins and two majority decisions in his first four matches. The two met earlier in the season in the Bradley County Invitational, a match Wright won, 6-4. Friday night Wright took an early lead and never relinquished it. "It hasn’t really sunk in yet," Wright said. "But it feels really good because I’ve worked really hard and it’s something I wanted to achieve." Coach Walt Holmes was not surprised that Wright, a four-time region champion, came home from Chattanooga for the second straight year with a state title. "The biggest thing about him is he likes to win," said Holmes. "He will do whatever it takes."
