Genius they had a pretty good team during the 80s. Coach Horton was head coach and a former CN assistant. Had a great staff of assistants. Much of which played college ball. The offensive coach in question knows his stuff. Played QB at CN until a shoulder injury forced him to move to LB. Played LB for a short time with the San Francisco 49ers. No he isn't at Rhea any more and yes he wears won of those state championship rings not won by a Blount Co school. Can you say that about yourself. Oh yeah, I forgot you were a sub that now goes to a prestigous college in Tennessee but don't have 2 degrees like some. And you won't tell anything because you want to remain anonymous. By the way, what is a gray shirt and why was he still a freshman upon transfer? Oh yeah!!! Any knowledgeable football mind knows that you can have 6 elligible receivers. QB is an elligle receiver. Throw back to QB is a pretty common play. Rhea Co. coach would know that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pittser is not completely over staff. He has not returned to school yet but was allowed to stand on sideline at Alcoa game. I know he had to have 3 surgeries someone posted that he had 4 but can't confirm. The fact that he was allowed to stand on sideline is certainly a step in the right direction. Would of loved to have seen him playing Friday but some times things are just more important and his health obviously is. As a GP fan I certainly appreciate your prayers and your concerns. Knowing P I'm sure he is as well. He's a great kid or should I say young man.

If you think that Cobb and Hodge weren't the difference you should try it without them. Explain to me how they could have had so many more points when they did not have enough other posessions to do it. Explain if Rankin was so nice why was he calling time outs right before half time. Seems to me he was trying to score more points. Explain how your superior athletes were getting beat deep by GP's "inferior" athletes. My whole point has been why couldn't you say GP played a good game and leave it at that. No, you had to make excuses like 2 starters were out (1 of those played), kicker wasn't there, we thought GP was terrible therefore is wasn't a big game, half the defensive starters didn't play second half (lie), and we didn't play our best game. The bottom line for all the excuses (all made before GP fans said anything) was that you were embarrassed that lowly GP put up 36 on awesome Alcoa. Again I ask, what team not named Maryville has scored 36 on your defense? Yes you are good and deserve credit for it. No you don't have to talk it. But your admitance that you choose to is why you will always be Maryville's redheaded stepchild.

So keep trying you might convince yourself. Saying last week was a big game and next week is big is downing GP. Saying they didn't play #1 D second half if out right lie. So Cobb wasn't there, he wasn't there a lot in the first half. Explain why Alcoa's coaches called for #1 D after Alcoas first score of the second half. It happened-fact. As for BCsportsfan, not whining. Matter of fact have not made excuses for GP. Why did Alcoa fans have to make excuses for the game. Example: We were missing 2 starters (actually only 1), our kicker couldn't come to the game, we played bad, wasn't a big game. Every games a big game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As opposed to some, I'm not stupid though and I don't wish the best for Alcoa throughout the best. Just hope noone can play you defensively and that they don't take a few pages from GP's offensive play book. P.S. You totally missed the point of every thing I said. In know way did I try to bring down you accomplishments. What I tried to point out was how you could not admit GP's accomplishments. The people on hear that say Alcoa played all young guys second half need to which the game film. Is it so hard to give GP credit for what they did? You say it wasn't a big game? It was cold? No, some of your players are wise enough to know better. As JCFlash says, Cobb and Hodge were the difference in the game offensively. GP certainly did what they wanted on offense. To say they did it against Freshman and Sophomores, well maybe they did if they were starters. They first defense played until late in the game. Oh yeah, there were a few not there the whole time (7 & 8). And no nothing was down to keep GP from being embarrassed. Somebody said Alcoa could have put up 80 or 90. How? They didn't have the posessions to. 40 to 13 at half and Alcoa plays #1 D and #2 O. Why #1 D? They didn't want to be embarrassed by GP putting up as many points as they did. Happens all the time. Bottom line. How about a little respect for GP. It wasn't just a poorly played game for Alcoa. And the fact that they were missing a starter and a kicker had nothing to do with it. Have a little post game class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats Alcoa. Your offense looked good. Nice quote. Do you think Rankin expects anyone to believe it? If he does he doesn't have a clue. I was there. After Alcoa's first touchdown of the second half one kind of expected the #2 D but the coaches called for #1s. You can say what you want but true fact. When they finally made changes it was only a few players. No one gave GP a change then they put up 36 and Alcoa posters come up with all kinds of excuses. We were missing 2 starters and a kicker. Well GP was missing 2 starters and you don't hear anyone whining do you. 1 starter was the leading tackler, the other if not #2 tackler he is one of top 3 or 4. By the way, Pittser was also #2 rusher and kicker and punter. Players being sick or injured is just a part of sports. To say that Alcoa played young kids most of the game or at least the second half is bull. Even second offense wasn't without starters. Alcoas defense only forced GP to punt once. Bottom line is this, either GP was a lot better than anyone gives them credit or Alcoas defense is terrible or both. Alcoa D didn't stop GP, 3 fumbles in first quarter did. Was it really so hard just to say kudos to GP. Job well done by both teams. No you had to try to make GP look bad by making excuses for Alcoa. How many teams in the last 3 seasons not named Maryville have put up 36 points and the QB passed for over 400 yds? Oh yeah! CAK fans were right. What ever that was at midfield after the game was classless. If Rankin has class as you say its gotta go. Heck, all of Alcoas players didn't agree with it. About half the team went on to the locker room (some of the starters included). Cry sour grapes if you wish but it still is true.

Cneagle has a point. GP gets ragged all season about how weak they and their schedule are. Then they hear how CAK deserved the number two seed. GP scored 36 points to CAK's 21. They deserve some credit no matter what offense played the second half. I think that DCA's coaching staff should have fun watching the game film because GP showed many holes in Alcoa's defense. Was GP's d up to snuff? No. Did they prove that Alcoa could be beat? Yes.

First, the athletic director at GP is one in the same as the Head Football coach. Second, it's Gatlinburg-Pittman not Gatlinburg Pitman. They used to have a lot of clout on the TSSAA board haven't kept up with it lately and don't really care because Alcoa and Maryville can compete with about anyone in the state. He once said that he had only coached one QB (in high school) that on pass plays could find the 3rd option (pretty good QB - Andy Kelly). But you talk of 5th & 6th options? Come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not sure who's the dumbest? RRC2 or The Genius? I'm not an Alcoa fan at all. Be honest never cared much for them. (Don't get me wrong. Didn't say I don't respect their accomplishments.) Gotta agree with Alcoa fans here. RRC2 you boast about your speed. If you've got it you ain't got to brag about it. Everybody will know especially when you boast of world class speed. You lost all credibility by boasting and explaining times. You don't have a clue. To think there are very few 4.4 or 4.5 in the NFL, better check again. There are LB's and DE's that are that fast. Hey genius. You need to take in consideration the schools that choose to move up. Enrollments change at a lot of schools daily. The classifications were for 4 years the last time set. (unless enrollment changed by 20% after 2) GP yesterday, Maryville today!!!!! You actually think Maryville can't compete in 5a? Like how you accuse teams of being racist, cheaters, or both. My bad. Actually remembered before you corrected me just hadn't corrected. Singleton was a great high school player (one of the better in this area). I watched him for 4 yrs. Not sure what the fact that he did nothing after high school has to do with it. Probably have seen McBee more than you. McBee is a good athlete, no doubt, but not fair to him to compare him to Singleton (who actually could play numerous pos. and out jump most post). Should be a pretty evenly matched district.

Why's that? Amazes me that know one will give either team any credit. GP & CG both have pretty good teams. Several on another are saying that CAK may be the #2 team in state. GP beat Rockwood just has bad as CAK. Not so sure CG makes it to round any way.

I don't agree with everything the tssaa does but theb host school mans the gates not TSSAA. Also sounds like an idiotic head official. If a player was hurt bad enough to summons parents why would you bring the injured player to them anyway? Be realistic though, not a TSSAA problem except for looking to how officials handled it.

This is beating a dead horse and I know it, but I find it important for our brethern in Bount Co. to realize that we are sane. Throwing a fade to a TE(when your already up by 70) who ended up setting freshman receiving records at Florida St. is not winning with class. No matter how hard you try and how many coaching changes you make, Alcoa will not be seen as a program that wins with class. Buddy, you just better hope that your program doesn't fall to the lows it experienced in the 1980's and early 1990's because there are plenty of schools that will show no mercy. Argue all you want, people respect Alcoa for their success but not for their class.

Won't it be interesting to see the adjustments that both teams make. Nothing against Alcoa but more parity makes for more exciting playoffs.

Would ask you to explain but as I said before its GP vs CG. Don't care to talk about it. Didn't whine 2 yrs ago after the Alcoa game. Only comment I will make is you have a lot to learn about winning. If we are able to make it to the 3rd Round and face Alcoa losing to them would make you guys look worse. You give a lot of credit to CAK. Already have Alcoa in the 3rd round. Guess they don't even need to play. You know any thing can happen. Just ask Appy State. However, certainly not looking past CG. And I know Coach Hammonds and his boys won't. Now on to next week. Should be a great game. CG has a good QB and throws the football a ton. GP has pretty group of backs and has effectively mixed in the pass. I'm sure CG is not looking forward to the long drive back to Gatlinburg. Certainly am glad we are home, never look forward to the long trip to the Gap. Good luck to both teams. Maybe Region 1 can gain a little more respect. Someone said to me last night after the game when talking about the regions that they weren't so sure that CG and GP couldn't have competed with and beaten several of the teams in region 2 this year. Did you attend the same game I did? Wasn't a late hit? The kid was 2 yards out of bounds and stopped when #5 hit him. No #5 did not ride him out of bounds. No doubt it was late. Officials had no choice but to flag him. Then he gets up and shoves one of GPs boys on the sideline. The same things could be said about Rockwood that you say. Low blows. Could give you the number of the player and number of the player he did it to as well as when it happened. But you know it just doesn't matter, the games over. As far as the players taking the game lightly and not playing hard the first half. BULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Both teams played hard. Bottom line GP scored 30 points while Rockwood could only score 14. GP deserved to win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Enough said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!If you want to have any more dylalogue with me it will have to be about GP and CG.
