I would like to see someone better than Sonny Grey. I think he may be the best right handed pitcher in the state right now today.

i forgot about Drake haha but he is a good possibility. He threw well for the Knox Yard this summer I know he was staying between mid to upper 80s about all summer.

I think its going to be hard to beat USJ this year again. I know they lost Nelson but thats really about it. I see them making a run into the playoffs again this year.

Its going to be interesting to see how it goes this year. I know Beardon and Farragut play each other to start there district seasons off so that will be interesting. I think it will be Ramsey Vs. Phannell which will be fun to watch. Does anyone know if Curt Powell will be back for this game? I heard he has mono. Then i know Farragut and SD play play that same week so the 1st week in the district is going to be a very important one.

Science hill is a very solid team this year. They have a nice blend in Senior experience and a very talented younger class. Matt Rice is one of the top catchers in the state. And then they also have Paul Hoilman who is one of the top pitchers in the state so i could see them doing a lot of damage this year.

Powell should be pretty good this year. I saw Halls play earlier this year they are down from the past couple years but they would have to be after losing lockwood, lucas and many others. But i do believe Halls should be pretty good. West was pretty young last year but its going to hurt losing Byrd to Beardon.

SD is still going to be good even with the loss of Hawn. They have about everyone returning and they also have a freshman Matt Kirkland who is going to step in this year and make an impact. William blount has about everyone coming back this year so they are going to be in the running also. Beardon has an impressive pitching staff and the acquiring of Johnathon Byrd behind the plate is going to help. They lost a lot of offensive and experience last year with Roach, Alexander, Miller, Wells, and Reynolds graduating. They will be happy to get Dawson back because he will help there lineup. What can you say about Farragut there always a force in the District and they were young last year so all the kids can do is get better.

But they had Rob so what point are you trying to prove? And last time i checked it took nine players to win a game. You can say all you want about Farragut but these kids no how to win big games. And i have to disagree about not even being close to the best team in Knoxville. Anytime you have Tommy Pharr in your dugout your going to be good.

Its going to be a very interesting year. About every team in the district has a solid pitcher that can shut a team out any night. The teams can only afford a loss or 2 to stay in contention for that #1 spot.

Matt Rice from Science Hill needs to be mentioned in this topic. He has a solid all around game with a big time arm.
