Bottom Line. we aren't even talking about PF baseball if it weren't for Larry and Tyler Cannon. And if there is this plethera of baseball athletes at PFHS, then why have i followed baseball in this county for the last ten years and never heard of any of them. Tyler Cannon went to Virginia to play baseball that's all I've heard. Everyone else couldn't cut it at the next level so someone please inform me if i'm wrong. ( walking on at Maryville does not count)

Pretty sure most of those games were Tyler Cannon hitting homeruns and pitching a shutout. ALL BY HIMSELF. not really any other players around him. So, either we will see Tyler Cannon in the MLB one day (which is very possible) or AA baseball is so WEAK that ONE good player on a team can take over a game and win it.

that is the most rediculous thing i've ever heard. if we go by that philosophy SCHS could go 3-23 with their wins being against GP, Seymour, and PF and still be the best team in the county. Of course it has something to do with what district you play in. GP and PF play a real easy schedule in an easy district so it makes them look better.

Sevier County is going to be young, but talented and athletic (unlike most of our teams of the past). but when you are in a district with three of the best b-ball teams in the state you are going to struggle. in my opinion nothing will change until we change the little league system in sevierville and start playing ball like they do at Bower.

first of all i was answering your own question about what sports "these athletes" dominate. second, i know yesterday was a long time ago, but i made the comment that schs would be a lot more competetive if their athletes played baseball. Then you started going off on swimming? track? football? You brought it up, i answered it. but i agree with eaglefan, it is two completely different classifications and the schools are not on the same level. here's a question, who would be the best in the county if any of the other three schools swapped districts with schs?

swimming? table tennis? how many state championships have the other county teams won? when is the last time any other county team was better in football?(which is the all our athletes play). once all our athletes decided to run track, we dominated it. you cant seriously say that any other county team is more dominant. By the way we dominate in bowling too.

the key phrase in this whole discussion is that "Sevier County can't get their athletes to play baseball." if they did Sevier County would surely contend with the teams in the county, possibly be the best.
