  1. farragut dominates play but cant score, west wins 1-0
  2. Alex widmer is out for the season, he tore his ACL in the hendersonville game.
  3. ahh, i am glad to hear ppl talk about wilkerson, he is only a sophmore but he is very dangerous, and their other really good sophmore is patrick harmony. they will be ones to watch and keep an eye on for sure. anyways to the game, thank you uniden for the information i dont get to attend a lot of games anymore, so i am glad other people do and dont mind to share their thoughts. i am really suprised bearden did not score... i thought they would score at least 2 every game, is it possible i over estimated the duo of tom and aaron? i guess time will tell good luck bearden and congrats catholic on an impressive win.
  4. i'm not bashing him, i said he was a good player, but i said that he isnt a good player just because he went to D1. yeah, i think you all did a good job backing up my argument so i think i will give it a rest, no one wants to listen anyways, maybe we should just call up Wake Forest and Azusa pacific and have them play and settle this. anyways, to be honest i would be happy playing anywhere right now, it stinks to give up the game... but i love being married so it is all good, i miss UC fun times at soccer there... i'll be cheering for you guys and i'll try to make some of your games if you all let me know when they are.
  5. first i no longer play soccer because i got married and have a family to take care of. anyways, NAIA gets the foreigners that played for the u19 and u20 national teams from their countries, which is way better the the players from here. and yes NAIA can get professional players, as long as they aren't playing professionally while in college. lets look at this from a different perspective... america gets their top of the line players from where? D1 schools, and look at us... MLS is a joke, our American national team is not very good, and where did all of these players come from D1 schools... oh but man oh man D1 is so amazing.... what a joke.
  6. ok, once more the foreigners that come over are not the best of the best in the overseas, but they are still better the the best from here. a professional player from germany is way way way better then a senior soccer player from america, i dont care who he is daniel kelly or not. if you have ever even seen a high end NAIA game, which i am pretty sure most of you havent, it would blow your mind at the way they move and the way they do everything perfectly. if you have ever seen Azusa Pacific play or Mobile, they are so much better then the players in D1 look at Radcliffe, the older one, that was a 3 time all american and a starter for D1, he was good i'll give him that, but he is absolutely nothing compared to the players i have seen in NAIA. D1 is more well known because they have big schools and a lot more people. why do ppl go to D1 schools over NAIA schools probably because they like bigger campuses, parties, things, like that you have to remember they go to schools for more then just soccer. and the foreigners come over here to play because they can get a free ride to college because they r that good at soccer, and most of them are decently smart so they realize they need to go to college.
  7. ok, first off i never once said cumberland was the team i was referring to. so please dont try to put words in my mouth, second of, i dont care how many state rings u have i have one as well, so i dont care. and i'm glad you enjoyed playing my family... thats awesome... ok now try and think people, don't just let the word division one cloud your judgement, yeah they do get the best of the best players FROM AMERICA!!! and lets face it they are just way way way to far behind the foreigners in the level of skill they bring to the field. i mean honestly on these NAIA teams there are players that are 24 years old that were playing professionaly in countries like germany, brazil, scotland, etc. and they are just better then the ppl from here in america. i love how ppl throw around D1 like it is so great, oh ben backstrom went to a D1 school... good for him, he's so great he went to a school that no longer even has a team lol... if he is so good why didnt he go to california, or texas to play.... now once again let me restate this, i do not think that NAIA would destroy the top teams in D1, i said that they would demolish most teams in D1, although i think NAIA is better, which they are, some D1 schools would give them fits, now let me be real clear here, i am talking about the top D1 schools, like wake forest, ohio state, virginia tech, and the top NAIA schools, which are Azusa Pacific, Lindsey Wilson, and Mobile. i dont even play soccer anymore so yeah, i could care less what you say about the cumberlands, and the TNFC team played cumberlands reserve team, and the reserve team didnt even play their starters for crying out loud, so dont give me that crap... like TNFC 90 could play with cumberlands real team LOL... HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, what a joke. oh yeah btw D1 is so great ohhh ben backstrom his team won 4 games lol, and they lost to Xavier which is a NAIA school oh wait they also lost to EVansville which is wait, yet another NAIA school, lol. once again HAHAHHAAHAHAHA but he is so great for going to D1 lol. what a joke. and being as good as king... CUMBERLANDS BEAT KING 3-1 SO GOOD ONE..... thats good enough to prove my point for now.
  8. awesome, i'm happy to hear it. well, then maybe they will earn it for once, congrats Brentwood, i'm proud.
  9. ok, ok ok, i'm glad that he has offers to go play some where else, he is a good player, but just because he signed D1 doesnt make him great. and what does that prove about D1 schools, they beat other D1 schools.... good great grand, thats what they r supposed to do. have them play lindsey wilson, and they would get DESTROYED!! but wait they can't play lindsey because they don't have a team anymore... ouch. yes, read my earlier post the talent levels for NAIA and D1 is horribly out of balance, NAIA starts 22-26 year old players from countries like Germany, Brazil, England, Scotland, etc. while D1 schools start 18-19 year old players from Knoxville, tn.... no comparison..... so please don't act like i dont know anything....
  10. i played naia and no it is not a generalization. lets look at it from a different point of view, in naia the rules for who can be given scholarships is extremely different and i played with MEN, not like 18 year olds that just came out of high school, i mean 24-26 year olds that played in Germany, England, Brazil, while division one schools start players like ben backstrom, altho he was a good player, ben would get destroyed by the players in NAIA. lets face it the level of soccer in America is not close to the level of soccer in the rest of the world and since NAIA can use those players they are better then the Division one schools here in America. now that being said there are exceptions, of course bigger schools CAN draw some great talent, therefore they can play with the foreigners, but all in all, NAIA is just better then D1. so if any of these players form TN are going to good D1 schools and actually play then good for them, but until i see it, i won't even care about the D1 signees, western kentucky, isnt a good D1 school, so please don't try that.
  11. yep, bearden played a 3-4-3 last year. or at least thats what it started as. but it is true bearden always plays some ofrm of kick it and run, but hye in high school soccer that is all a coach has time to teach his kids how to play, and it gets results. i think ppl give bearden the shaft though on packing it in and jhust running, i think ppl see it that way because bearden is normally in pretty good shape and can just cover more of the field then other teams.
  12. they r overated, in that game against brentwood, bearden had an own goal... and didnt play very well. i'm not saying that they r just god awful, but they r very very overrated... they always get built up and built up for what... losing. yeah they won state, but who cares, look at their schedules from the past they definetily arent playing a farragut or bearden schedule. and i love when ppl talk abotu d1 signees, that is also overrated. look at ben backstrom, he went to a d1 school and... now that school is what... losing their soccer team... that is awesome though he went d1... try playing against naia, that is where the good players are, all those foreigners, they would dominate most d1 schools, of course maybe not at the top of the top, but for the run of the mill d1 schools, they would destroy them.
  13. yep rewatch it the goal that rober fisher scores is clearly offsides, it was beautiful, but offsides, and i they took a goal away from bearden during the first half that would of made it 3-1 instead of 2-1.
  14. i really dont understand the problem with his rankings... does farragut deserve to be number one? no, no they dont. who cares about them winning state last year, they beat bearden who also beat them twice that year. they just happened to win the state game, of course with the refs help, hehe, love to take a jab at farragut. anyways, i am more shocked by the brentwood ranking... everyone always ranks brentwood in the top 4 and they are just not good. look at two years ago when they played bearden in the opening round of state they got demolished, but they hadnt lost for something like a year before that. maybe it is time for brentwood to step up and play the hard games and earn their reputation by beating another good team imagine thta for once...
  15. First things first... farragut, i like the fact that farragut is not in the Bearden invitational, because perosnally, i hate seeing a team play another team 4 times in one seaosn, like last season, i mean honestly who cares after the first 3 times they play and they swap wins, it just so happened that last year farragut won when it mattered, although they were offsides in one of their goals, and bearden had a goal taken away for no reason, but hey, who cares bearden won the year before, so let farragut have it. now bearden this year should be interesting, bearden will have the offense period. they will dominate on the attack, their forwards are just that good. but they will not be that great on the defensive side of things... they are coming off from losing pretty much their whole defense and they will be going back to having 4 defenders instead of the 3 they had last year. i'd say bearden would be better off playing kick it and run because their strength is in their forwards, regardless of how ugly their soccer might be they will get it done where it counts.
